We love the boating lifestyle and the friends you meet at cocktail hour on the docks. We have traveled the Intracoastal Waterway for the past 5 years and found Stuart, FL to be one of the prettiest spots on the east coast. We love getting on the boat in Stuart and using the amenities of the Marriott. They have a great pool, workout room, restaurants and golf. We usually retire to the dock for cocktails around 5pm for the sunset. The sunset is beautiful from the dock.
A captain is available (for captain charge) to move the boat to ports nearby. Vero Beach is a wonderful little community and has a great marina with restaurants nearby. Jensen Beach is also close and has a great downtown. Palm Beach is a bit further (day trip) but has great marinas with lots to do.
If you've ever wanted to see Florida from the waterway - this is the way to do it.

Our stay on "Sandy Feet"

Came from Maine to avoid January and stayed on the boat for 3 1/2 weeks. Found our stay very comfortable, we have a sail boat so thought staying on another boat for a vacation would be fun. Son and wife came for 10 days also and found we had no problem spacewise and they had their own cabin and bath. We brought bicycles and found Hutchinson Island is a great place to bike, no onerous hills like Maine. Went out for 10 miles every other day. Had tornado warning while there and decamped to the bar at the resort with computer to watch weather but no problems and met lots of new people. Found a great place at the PGA course in Port St. Lucie to work on our golf game, a fantastic practice/learning facility with at least 100 stations to hit balls, bunkers with sand types from all over the US and ample putting, pitching and chipping practice areas. You pay $40 for two to use the facility and all the balls you can hit. Great sunsets, manatees at the marina and drinks on the dock. Made new friends on the dock we have visited with subsequently. You might want to bring some coffee cups,a salad bowl, dish towels a frying pan or all purpose wok if you plan to eat on board occasionally but you don't need to bring "coolie cups". These can be found at the Salvation Army store and donated back when you leave. There is a grill below if you look, great for football playoffs dock party with big TV in cockpit. We are coming back this year for a longer stay and really enjoyed our on the water experience on Sandy Feet, nope, never moved the boat and it was "wicked fun".
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+.

Our family of three (2 adults, 1 eight year old child) just spent an incredible 2 weeks on the boat. We are boaters (used to have a small cabin cruiser), so we are well aware of what living on a boat and marina life is like. We were very lucky with the weather - no rain and warm temperatures for the entire 2 weeks. Robert keeps the boat well-maintained, with access to folks locally if any problems/issues arise. To clarify the description - there are three bedrooms which each sleep two people & 2 full baths. One room is tight - the cave - and will appeal to children and teens but probably not anyone else. All the beds were comfortable with firm mattresses. The salon (lvg. room) couch pulls out to be a double bed, so 8 people is the max. There are 5 televisions with cable on this boat! Access to the resort facilities was wonderful - we used one of the three pools every day. Resort staff was always very friendly and helpful. As a family with a very social, only child, this was a perfect vacation. Everyday our daughter was making new friends at the marina, at the pool, and at the beach. A very family-friendly resort and region of Florida. The resort even offered a few activities for kids each day, with movie night by the pool and t-shirt tye dye two of our child's favorites. The beaches in the area are stunning with many to choose from to visit, as well as the resort beach which you can walk to (about .5 mile) or take the resort trolley (runs every 15 min.). The town of Stuart (10 min. drive) is quaint with lots of restaurant choices. Jensen Beach is also nearby, with a fun, funky atmosphere. Had the best breakfast of my life with all food made from scratch (incl. biscuits, Hollandaise sauce, etc.) at Jan's Place in Jensen Beach. Mulligen's and New England Seafood Co. in Jensen Beach were favorites for dinner. Rather than take the boat out for a cruise, we opted to spend our money on renting smaller boats (canoe on Loxahatchie River, pontoon nearby) or taking boat tours (sunset cruise on a wooden sailboat out of Stuart, eco-tour with Sunshine Wildlife of the estuary). There was lots of wildlife at the marina as well and we had dolphins swimming alongside of the boat several times during our stay. We're used to more exotic vacations (Turkey last March and Italy the year before) but this was the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure for our family. We look forward to returning soon.

thanks for letting us stay on your great boat, robert. it has all a condo has and more, which condo is so close to the water and where do you get to talk to your neighbours the first night? and the marriott marina is perfect, nice pool, golf for 30$ and the use of all anemities, even free internet. and we hired a captain to take us for a cruise with "our" boat for a day. the area is much nicer than ft.lauderdale or miami.
