Great condo in a perfect Kaanapali location. Bill and Dondi's wonderful unit had everything we needed to feel at home and comfortable during our stay---from cable TV & DVD players, to extra detergents for the dishwasher and washing machine, to beach toys for the kids. With stellar views of Lanai and Molokai, well-appointed accomodations, and a great location, this is a great place to stay on your Maui vacation. Highly recommended.

Bill & Dondi, Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise. What a view! Not only on the beach side but a beautiful view of the West Maui mountains on the other side. Location is just perfect for most all activities. Very nice complex, plenty of parking, fast elevators and helpful personnel. We can't wait to go back and stay at your condo again. Mahalo

Bill and Dondi-We had an absolutely incredible time and your condo was perfect! We feel quite lucky to have been able to stay there. The sunsets were all gorgeous, we spent many an evening on the lanai enjoying it. We also really liked drinking coffee and watching the ocean in the early morning. I could go on and on, but I just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed ourselves. Thanks so much! Lisa

We just returned from an awesome time in unit 1109! The accomodations were very comfortable and spacious. The views were awesome & could not be beat!! There is a huge picture window in the living area & the lanai is perfect & very private, there are 5 chairs & a table. The condo had everything you needed for cooking & the beach, including beach chairs, umbrella and boogie board. Liquid handsoap, bar soap & dishwasher detergent were provided for you, as well as an ample supply of towels and beach towels. You will need to bring your own shampoos, which I always do anyway. You can pick up small size laundry soap boxes at ABC store, right up the street on the left. Star market is practically across the street, but more expensive than Safeway, which is only about 10 minutes away on the right on the main road(HWY 30). As mentioned by others, there is a pizza/ice cream place & subway, right across from the condo area. Maui Dive shop is also there for any rental needs. It was cool and windy some days we were there, but I expected that this time of year. The water was too cold for us personally, but we're from the south and used to warmer water temps. We saw a beautiful rainbow from our window the first day there, it went from end to end! We also could see the whales daily. They were too far for our camera, but binoculars helped. A telescope would be even better I am sure. We also had surfers and wind kite surfers at different times. We drove up to Kapalua Bay, awesome waves and the surfers put on a great show for us. We went on the PWF whale watch, awesome, the Old Lahaina Luau, awesome and the Road to Hana, incredible views, hairy ride! Don't miss the gift shop in the Old Courthouse in Lahaina, also the visitor center. It is across from the harbor behind the Banyan tree. They had some nice and different items in there. There is a pool, not a fancy one, but that doesn't matter to us, we'd rather have the view we had. There were plenty of lounge chairs at the pool& the beach area, on the lawn. The jacuzzi was also up & running & we saw people using it. The staff we encountered were friendly and we had no trouble checking in or out. There is a 75 cent charge for local & 800 phone calls from the room. There are computers set up in the lobby & you can get on the internet for 20 cents per minute. They also have free wireless if you take your laptop. There were beach towels in our room, as ResortQuest only has towels at the pool for those who

You will also hear the waves as you sleep, what an awesome sound! Bill and Dondi were very good at responding quickly to calls & emails. They will help you in any way needed and answer questions for you. Feel free to email me with any questions and don't hesitate to book this condo! Debbie

We stayed at the Condo From January 3rd 2008 to Janaury 10th 2008. We had a wonderful time. The condo was great. We loved being able to sit out on the Lani and watch the whales while we ate breakfast, lunch or just relaxing. The weather was perfect when we were there. We had no rain and hardly any wind. The lack of wind gave us low surf which made playing at the beach great and safe for my children. The beach about 300 yards south of the condo turned out to be the best for us. Perfect white sand with no broken shells in the surf for about the first 10 yards out into the water and then a great reef for snorkeling after ten yards. The water visibility had to be at least 75 feet for a couple of days just 10 yards off the beach. We made the joke that a couple of days we were able to snorkel from the condo lani. The water was so clear you could see fish on the reef in front of the condo from the lani. The pool was open, but not the hot tub. We heard from people that the pool had been previously closed for some time while they had been refurbishing it. It was great that it was open and the kids had fun playing in it when they came in off the beach. We did manage to leave the condo and visit some of the other sights on the island. We went to Molokini, Haleakala, the road to Hana (even though we didn't make it all the way to Hana) and the blowhole east of Kapalua (I can't remember how to spell the name of it but I think it is something like Nakalee). There is a hike down from the road to the blowhole, but it is well worth it. The vast diversity of the landscape of the island was fascinating. We had a lot of great meals including Mama's Fish House, Roy's, The Rusty Harpoon and Hula Grill. We had a lot of fun at Bubba Gump's and Cheeseburger in Paradise. We also got take out from the the little place in the strip center just north that you had recommended and ate on the lani at the condo (I can't remember how to spell it but it started with the letter O). All in all we had a great time and would love to go back.

We stayed in Bill and Dondi's condo in October 07. It was absolutely incredible and one of the best vacations we have had, thanks in big part to the accommodations. The views from the balcony were spectacular and my favorite part of the day was getting up early with my coffee and watching the day begin there. The snorkeling was great, we took a trip to Molokini which is definitely worth it. The food was fantastic as well. I also very much enjoyed daily walks on the beach, it was a perfect way to start the day. And Bill and Dondi made it very easy and convenient, giving us guides on local cuisine and activities. I highly recommend this condo.

Bill & Dondi’s condo lacks for nothing and is so comfortable you feel like you are at home. The views from either side of the unit are incredible, and we often found ourselves running between the front and back of the condo to photograph double rainbows, sunrises or sunsets. The snorkeling was incredible and we didn’t even have to drive to most of it. Walk down the beach almost in front of the condo to Old Airport Beach and you’ll see turtles, octopus and many beautiful tropical fish. Walk a bit further down the beach to Black Rock, where your head spins with seeing so many turtles, moray eels, sting rays and even more diversity of fish and corals. You should also take a trip to snorkel in Honolua Bay Marine Preserve. The fish are huge and incredibly beautiful. Hint: We bought a great book across the street at the Maui Dive Shop called Hawaii’s Fishes: A Guide for Snorkelers, Divers and Aquarists. Each day after snorkeling we enjoyed identifying the names of all the new fish we saw. And the photos are wonderful. We really took advantage of the dining guide Bill and Dondi provides. It was as simple as running to the Star Market across the street; walking to the Okazuya Deli 2 blocks away and getting great takeout of fish and chips or mahi mahi in lemon caper sauce; going to Hula Grill in the Whaler’s Village or saving the best for last at Sansei for some of the freshest sushi ever. And don’t miss the fried tempura ice cream for dessert. Bill and Dondi, Mahalo for sharing your home with us and for your prompt and professional manner in helping us set up a fabulous vacation time. We will look forward to our next visit.Shirley, Michael, Carol

We stayed three weeks in Hawaii (April 28, 2007 to May 18, 2007) with the first week in Maui at Bill and Dondi's Mahana #1109. The condo met and exceeded all expectations. We should have made this our last stop in Hawaii, not the first. And we should have stayed longer. It is in an area that is so relaxing. We walked the beach to the Whaler's Village twice (we were told this is about 2-3 miles). The view from the lanai at night is spectacular. Some nights cruise ships pass by between the islands of Maui and Lanai and Molokai. The sunsets are breathtaking. Lanai and Molokai look like a stone's throw away and if the sky is clear enough you can just make out Oahu in the distance further to the west. We could go on and on about how great the room and the surrounding area is but you will have to see it for yourself. We are already planning our next Hawaiian vacation and this condo is most certainly part of that plan.

Our family of 4 stayed in unit 1109 for 9 terrific nights in August. This unit has everything you need, even beach chairs! It was immaculate, and so well stocked. There is a market right across the street. Make sure you look at the guidebooks in the drawer under the television in the living room! They were very helpful. The washer and dryer was great to have, we took less clothes knowing we had it in the unit and we still brought too much! The Mahana is a wonderful location, great beaches surround it to the right and left. Plenty of great snorkeling. The sunset from the balcony and through the floor to ceiling glass windows is amazing. Bill and Dondi are a pleasure to deal with. The space we had in the unit for the cost was far greater then any hotel suite could offer us as a family of 4. You won't want to leave! We know we will return in the future!

We have one word that sums up Dondi and Bills condo...WOW!!! The view is INCREDIBLE and we had everything we needed to call it "home" for the week that we were there. It's also very centrally located, as in close to Kaanapali, Lahaina and great beaches. We will DEFINATELY be back!!!

We were lucky enough to be able to stay in unit 1109 from March 10-24, 2007. This is the second time we have stayed in one of Bill and Dondi's units and we are currently making plans to stay in a unit of theirs in January of '08. The view out the livingroom window (which filled the whole living room wall) was incredible as was the view that greeted us each morning from the bed. You simply can't get a view like this in a hotel room om Maui!! It's great to find such trustworthy people to rent from!

We were delighted to stay in 1109 3/2-3/9/07 with another couple. It was the best supplied condo that we have ever stayed in (most of the others have been time-share exchanges, not private owners). So many extras available. The location itself was absolutely perfect for us. Everything I have read in the comment section I would agree with. No large crowds while we were there. Since we were in the "master bedroom" we could see the beautiful moon shining over the water at night. One point...we felt it was a good idea that there not be lights on the lanai..keeps the late night noise to a minimum, we think. Carolyn and John Stern

We had an amazing two weeks during our stay at the Mahana 1109. Previously we had stayed in a one bedroom unit which we had booked directly with the resort and enjoyed the property so much we decided to return. We were skeptical about booking directly with the owners so called the front desk to ensure that when we arrived we would not have any issues with the unit amd were assured there were none. You should be aware that any unit that is rented directly by owners does not need to meet any quality requirements by the management. We were more than impressed with the quality of the furnishings, abundance of towels, dishes, cutlery, books, laundry facilities etc - we could want for nothing more from the unit 1109. Can't wait to go back and if you have any questions - we are happy to respond via email. The Lynch Family Toronto, ON

My family and I had a wonderful time in Ka'anapali Maui where this condo is located. There's great snorkeling just down the beach with almost every imaginable tropical fish and eels. We swam with a sea turtle on one day there and that was quite memorable. So that said the location is great. The pool is nice and the kids enjoyed it a lot (and miss it a great deal). The condo itself is well-equipped and offers a very comfortable stay. The owners have really thought things through and made virtually everything imaginable available. It really felt like home to us and was the nicest Mahana condo in which we or my in-laws have stayed. I highly recommend this condo. Price was also reasonable.

We had a wonderful week staying in your wonderful condo! We really appreciated all of the beach chairs, umbrellas, & boogie boards for the kids(10 & 13) to use- we used them almost daily! The views in your place are like none other we have seen on 5 previous trips to Maui. Mahana 1109 is now our very favorite. Your place is also much larger inside than it appears on the website which was a pleasant surprise as well. We celebrated our 15th anniversary by renewing our vows on Makena Cove with our kids with us- such a special trip! Also, thank you for your very prompt and wonderful correspondence regarding questions or recommendations- you were such a pleasure to deal with. When we return to Maui next time we will be staying at Mahana 1009!

We were very happy with the condo, very large and spacious. The complex was easy to get in and out of, parking was no problem. Everything we needed was included, even beach chairs, etc. I would definitely recommend the Mahana and your condo to friends and family. We only cooked one dinner, but did have a few breakfasts in the condo and of course cocktails. The kitchen was well equipped and all our needs were met. We really enjoyed Maui, and the various beaches. We would recommend to your future guests, unless they are interested in a boat ride, that snorkeling off the various beaches is just as good or better than Molikini. We went with Trilogy Catamaran, was nice but $110 each. The last day we snorkeled at Black Rock the closest one to your condo, and thought it was as good or better than Molikini, more fish. We drove to the crater and found it very erry, like a moonscape. Definitely something we hadn't seen before. My husband had a good fishing trip - catching a 45 lb ono and seeing a whale come right out of the water. We spotted a few from your lanai, but only the spout or the top of their head. We know that whale spotting is unusual for May, so we were lucky.

We stayed in your room 1109 in February of 2006. What a wonderful time to be in Hawaii, and what a wonderful room to stay in. The room was as beautiful as you said it was, and the views were spectacular from any window or lanai in the room. When we go to Hawaii again, we plan to stay in the same room. While we were there, we took a whale watching tour that was beyond words. It was out of the Westin Hotel and the company was called the Gemini. It was well worth the money we spent to go. The whales come right up to the boat.

We are anticipating another wonderful stay in Bill and Dondi's Mahana Unit 1109 in Feb / Mar 2006. In privious years we have enjoyed stays in both Unit 604 and 1109! I can remember sitting on the Lanai in the morning, enjoying breakfast with my lovely wife, while watching rainbows over the ocean, clouds shrouding Molikai and whales frolicing.. it brought tears to our eyes! We feel very blessed to have found Bill and Dondi's "paradise in Maui"!! It truely is and we can't wait to arrive and experience there little piece of heaven on earth once again!!

This was our 10th trip to Maui and our 10th stay at The Mahana (right on the beach!). Unit 1109, however, was the very best unit we've ever occupied there. What a terrific experience, and Bill and Dondi are just the best to deal with - prompt and helpful in every respect. We can't wait to return and are telling all our friends as well. You will be absolutely delighted with this unit - as wonderful as the pictures are, they don't do either the unit or the view justice. In addition, the location is wonderfully convenient yet quieter and more private than the nearby resort complexes.

Your Mahana 1109 was even more beautiful than the pictures! Very spacious, clean and what a view! Thank you for letting us stay in your home away from home. The two of your were so helpful in your comments on where and what to eat and do and a pleasure to work with. THANK YOU again for the memories.

It didnt make a difference what bedroom you had in this wonderful condo. One had a picture window view of the mountains and sunrise. The other had the ocean and sunset. Awesome views, very clean, everyone friendly. The condo had everything you needed for a wonderful stay. It is within walking distance to restaurants, grocery store and snorkel rental. A perfect spot for a perfect vacation. Mahalo to Bill and Dondi for letting us use their home away from home.

Whether you are a first time or frequent visitor to Maui you will have a great time at the Mahana in Bill and Dondi's room 1109. Clean, neat and tastefully decorated with a breath taking view of the ocean as well as stunning sun rises and sets. You'll find knowledgeable, cheerful staff and plenty of parking. Our check in was painless and hassle free. Merely presenting our key release letter got us on our way. Elevators are fast and clean with virtually no waiting. Bill and Dondi have been prompt and helpful from our very first contact making the whole experience a real pleasure. We would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends alike. We are counting the days until our next visit. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Kindest regards, Mahalo, Lendal and Linny PS: Hula Pie is a must for any visitor. Located at LeLani's in the Whaler's Village it is not to be missed. Be warned, this dessert is meant to be shared. A dark chocolate cookie crust, with a huge mound of vanilla macadamian nut icecream coated with 1/4 inch dark chocolate and drizzled with more chocolate, mac nuts and whipped cream. It's what the sailors swam to shore for...or so we're told. Be sure to wear expandomatic pants. Bystanders be afraid, be very afraid. It is said that those just passing by will gain at least a pound. Many thanks again to Bill and Dondi.

The word that comes to mind that describes Bill and Dondi's condo #1109 is the word "amazing". It was such a treat to book with them. They made you feel so comfortable to ask any questions and they provided so many great suggestions and loads of information. The view from the condo was magnificent. Through the floor to ceiling windows or from the huge lanai, we'd watch the whales playing, see incredible sunsets, or watch the daredevil windsurfers. The view would always take our breath away. The condo was fully equipped with more than one would ever need. It was very roomy, air conditioned, and very clean, tidy and comfortable. The whole complex was great. The staff were very friendly and the whole place was very clean and well kept. The pool was wonderful, the beaches went for miles with beautiful soft sand. There is no doubt that when we return (and we will), we will be staying in condo #1109.

I spent a wonderful week at your Maui condo with two very good friends. The rental experience went very smoothly, with Bill responding quickly to any questions. The condo itself was beautiful, set-up like home, and the perfect base to return to each night. We loved the little deli that you recomended. The view of the ocean was breathtaking. The Maui weather could have been a little nicer, but a bad day in paradise beats a great January day in Indiana anytime. This was my third trip to Maui, and I would highly recomend this location and rental.

We enjoyed a fabulous week in the condo over Thanksgiving. The location is perfect - not in the very busy South Kaanapali area, but close enough so going into Lahaina is easy. The unit was fabulous - almost a 270 degree view of the water and west mountain. We really enjoyed our stay and it was very hard to leave.

We were exceptionally pleased with your condo. The condo was very clean, tastefully decorated and the views were fantastic. We enjoyed watching the whales from the lanai while having our morning coffee each day. The owners were very professional and helpful with all of the information that they gave us. This is probably one of the best lodging experiences I have ever had in our many years of traveling. Thanks so much for helping to make our trip a very enjoyable one. I highly recommend Unit 1109. Thanks so much! We truly had a wonderful time. This was our third time to the islands but we've never enjoyed the views and sunsets so much. At some time, almost every day, a rainbow would appear outside your windows. We had such a unforgetable and relaxing experience on Maui! Thank you for lending us your beautiful home. We did a lot of snorkeling, sight seeing, enjoyed many fine meals, and of course lots of shopping, but each morning was reserved for coffee on the lanai and each evening there were fabulous sunsets to enjoy. What a beautiful world resides right outside your windows. You've been extremely helpful and your recomendations were right on! I'd recommend your Maui home to anyone visiting the island. Thank you again... we'll be back soon.
