Year Purchased: 2000
Lynne and Steve, your hosts, have been renovating historic Denver properties for over 20 years. They purchased this Arts and Crafts home in 2000, which came with two charming garden-level apartments that have been operating as such since 1958. Over the years, they have been upgrading the half-acre lot and apartments and recently converted the apartments to short term rentals. They live in the two-story space above. Our love of architecture, gardening, travel and hospitality led to our decision to do short-term rentals. We've gutted this space and decorated it with unique artwork and beautiful furnishings, from the distressed wood kitchen floor to the sleigh couch and loveseat, to the small gas heating stove that cozies the place up in cooler weather. We love this home and its unique history, and get many complements from our guests and passers-by. Because the home is so special, it was moved in the thirties from the then new home of Denver Municipal Airport (later Stapleton Airport). It is a rather large home, so Lynne didn't believe the stories at first. Then, a few old-timers began stopping by to recount their memories of the home being moved, which helped to dispel Lynne's disbelief. Because of the large lot, spacious apartment, and two separate private entrances, guests are assured of complete privacy. Lynne and Steve are accessible, though, to assist with your needs.

We bought this home because we couldn't resist the large garden area and unique arts and crafts architectural style. The location is ideal just 10 minutes from Downtown and close to walking paths, tennis courts, Johnson & Wales University, Stapleton, Lowry and Fitzsimmons.
