My sisters and I had a lovely time in Michael and Zandra's home. The views were beautiful - sunsets were gorgeous! I liked that the home was only 10 miles away from Santa Fe and beautifully quiet. The decor was comfortable and we all had space to both separate and convene. The house definitely looks like its photos and was well-maintained. The one thing that I would say is that you are asked to water the plants. I didn't personally find this a problem, but others might, so that is why I mention it. Thanks so much again for the lovely memories that were created!! The whole weekend was just perfect!

My spouse, son, mother in law and I recently stayed at this property for a week. The home is beautiful, serene and clean. There was plenty of space for a family with my mother in law having her own private space. The home is located a short 15 minute drive from downtown Santa Fe. After visiting downtown Santa Fe, I was glad we chose to stay in Eldorado which is more serene with the mountains and a beautiful sunrise to view everyday. Downtown Santa Fe felt congested. My spouse and I both work fulltime and it was a welcome retreat to stay at this house with its peaceful surroundings. The owner is very well organized and sent us not only detailed information about how things worked in the home but also suggested itineraries which we used in planning our trip. Although we didn't have any questions, he made himself available if we needed to contact him. Definitely a five star experience!

We've enjoyed our annual stay at this home for a few years now. Great quiet location with easy access to the mountain or downtown. A well stocked grocery store is close by. Home is in a neighborhood just off 285 south of 25. Nice patio and outside seating with a fireplace to enjoy the sunset, panoramamic scenery and stars. Home is well equipped for the family stay.

Your home is beautiful. So comfortable and enjoyable. The floorplan is perfect and the details in the home are incredible. We have so enjoyed meeting here with our families and friends, enjoying one another in your pleasant home. We have had plenty of space and privacy. Each one of us have enjoyed it greatly. I would recommend this home with no reservations. I look forward to returning again!

A WONDERFUL experience for our family. This was our first time to stay in Santa Fe and we will be going back to stay in this house again! The owners were wonderful to work with and the view was spectacular. The floor plan worked great for two families and was very roomy for the 8 of us. The house was so inviting, cozy, and we loved having a fire each night! You could definitely tell this house was decorated with love which made the stay even better! This house has everything you could want and more!

Stayed her over Thanksgiving weekend and couldn't have planned a better home to suit us. Welcoming home in a quiet setting. Kids were on one side of the house and we were on the opposite side in the large master suite. I'll touch on things that matter to me when staying some place: Plenty of space, very quiet, but not too far from Old Town Santa Fe (15 minutes or so), grocery store just a couple of minutes away, great showers and very comfortable beds. Home is well-maintained and all necessary item and some even not necessary are available (lots of spices). Great instructions left for anything one might have questions about too. WiFi was great too - kids liked having it. No complaints and I will use an old cliche' that is very true - the pictures do not even come close to doing justice to the home.

This home is OUTSTANDING! Our only problem was packing so much sightseeing in during our stay, we were not really at the house to fully take in all that it offers. The little touches (card/wine) make you feel very connected to the owner. Michael's house is up there in the top three we have ever rented through VRBO, and we have rented MANY in different states, (and out of the country for that matter) so if you are wavering, it most definitely feels like home! We will for sure stay here again when we get back to the SW. Santa Fe is quite close, and worthwhile to take in. We found our little gem - Burro Alley Cafe there. An excellent choice for breakfast! Thanks again Michael for the hospitality. Our New Mexico trip was A M A Z I N G !!!!!

This is a gorgeous home in which you can relax and recuperate from the stresses in life. The sunsets are incredible from the patio out back. The stars and sounds of nature at night make you feel that all is right with the world. The wonderful outdoor fireplace keeps you toasty if the evening is chilly. Every room is beautiful and uniquely decorated to feel cozy and welcoming. Best of all were our hosts...Michael and Zandra...They responded promptly to any question from beginning to end of our journey. The itinerary and restaurant suggestions were very helpful for those that don't know the area! Michael even went so far as to get me the phone number of a person to contact for info on my ancestors who lived in the are in the 1800's! The welcome note and bottle of wine were unexpected and very much appreciated. They go above an beyond!!!!!! The only thing we missed was a barbeque....being from California we like to grill veggies and meat..easy fixes after a long day of exploring. We hope to be able to return for a longer visit in the future!

we had a wonderful experience. the house went beyond our high expectations and well beyond the depiction on the website. the house is open, inviting, and laid out well with a guest "wing" separated from the master and a kitchen in the center of the house activity. but the best thing about the house is its location and how it is situated to enjoy fully the mountain views and the quiet, dark, star-filled walks at night. we lived on the portal - quiet and open with full visibility to both the jemez and the sangre de cristos. there are neighbors, so you are not isolated, but you do not see or hear them because of scaping and orientation of the houses. in the heat of the summer we were able to keep the house cool and comfortable by closing and opening appropriate shades and windows in relation to where the sun hit the house. it was wonderful to come home to. we took advantage of the community pool, the 4000 acre preserve open to eldorado residents and the walking distance lands that go on forever from the road at the front of the house. the eldorado community has walking paths for miles. we found the ride in and out of santa fe to be a breeze. with one car we had to coordinate more than usual, but taking pecos trail into the plaza area is only 20 minutes at most with traffic. it is much closer to some of the key grocery and other shopping areas in the st. michaels and zia road area. and, museum hill is 15 minutes at most. decompressing during the beautiful drive from all the activity and energy of the shops and restaurants, movies and galleries, and all the venues that santa fe offers and getting "home" to the desert and its beauty every evening was fantastic. the house is well stocked with paper products and linens and everything was in great condition. michael has people to contact with any questions or issues and he is very responsive. the agora town center has every necessity and is only 5 minutes away. the little coffee shop is wonderful. we were there for a little more than two months and hope to be back again.

The house was amazing! Highly recommend it. Kid friendly property (2 toddlers). Beautiful master bedroom. Great light, windows, and sunlights throughout. Kitchen was well stocked and beautiful. The property feels remote enough to enjoy private dinners on the backyard deck, watch the sunset, and still drive to Santa Fe the next day to soak in the town. Owners were very helpful, friendly and responsive. We would stay here again for sure!

My husband and I fell in love with the southwest when we took a long vacation in Arizona. This year we wanted to explore the Santa Fe area. When traveling, we like to select a place to come back to after a long day of exploring that is quiet with a little luxury and beautiful views. Michael and Alexandra's place in Eldorado was perfect and fit the kind of place we like. In the mornings and evenings the views of the mountains and the desert landscape were breathtaking. The house itself is so clean and spacious I wish we had stayed two weeks instead of one.The house is even nicer than the photos The ride into Santa Fe was about 20 min but a very easy drive.Try a margarita at the La Fonda Hotel Tower and walk to dinner at Pasqual's. Loved eating at Bobcat Bites and Harry's Roadhouse that are nearby. Grocery store is very close too. We definitely recommend it. Owners are very helpful. We travel a lot and have stayed in some nice places but this house and location is among our most memorable. I am an honest evaluator and don't use superlatives unless they are deserved.

This beautiful home far exceeded our expectations and couldn't be more beautifully appointed. Every amenity and every detail were well thought out and available for us. It was a truly awesome week spent with family members - those who wanted to hit the slopes, those who wanted to shop the Plaza in Santa Fe and those who wanted to just chill and take in the spectacular scenery.

Wonderful home with alot of space. Large windows with great views of mountains and sunsets. The large patio provides alot of space for family activities. Everything was there for cooking and meal preparation. The large round lazy susan dining table seats 10. Great beds and comfortable furniture. 15 minute drive to Santa Fe. Make sure you get a burger at Bobcat Bites down the road. Supermarket, gas and other shopping close to this home. If we have another family get together in Santa Fe this will be the place that we will stay. The owner is very helpful and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Great bottle of wine and note were present on arrival.

Five of our family spent a long weekend in this lovely home. It was larger and more up-scale than we expected. It was very well furnished and equipped. The views are sensational. The owner was very hospitable, a good communicator, and followed up to be sure all was going well. The cost was an excellent value. If the opportunity presents itself, we would certainly rent this place again.

Our stay at this home was a great, relaxing retreat for our whole family. My husband and myself, our two married children, and our small grandchildren spent a lovely four days there in early October. We had been to Santa Fe many times, but never stayed in a house before, which is now necessary because of size. 9We did take an air mattress for the 5 year old and a pack and play for the baby). The property was just as pictured, with plenty of room inside and out to spread out in. We loved to back yard area with the patio, lots of seating, and the fireplace to enjoy in the cool evenings. Lots of paths to explore and rocks to climb for the little ones. We cooked several meals, and found everything we needed, including basic condiments, lots of cookware and serving bowls, and a lovely dining table to seat all 8 of us comfortably (the kids loved the lazy susan in the middle). Beds were comfy and lots of towels available for all. We would highly recommend this home, and the owners were very forthcoming with suggestions for activities. Michael was in touch several times during the rental process and after we arrived to ask if things were going well. I'm sure we'll be back for more of the hospitality. For those buying groceries to cook, there is a well stocked small store in the nearby shopping center, and further away on Saint Francis, a Trader Joe's, Albertson's, and Whole Foods. Also, we were able to eat at some of our favorite restaurants, the Shed and Rancho de Chimayo (a bit of a drive, but well worth it with great scenery north of Santa Fe). We missed Tia Sofia's off the plaza this time, but will get there next trip. All in all, everything exceeded our expectations!

Five of us long-time friends stayed in this wonderful house for a week. Nothing but positive comments from everyone. Pictures don't do this lovely adobe home justice. There was more than enough space to allow comfortable breathing room for all. It felt more like we were house sitting than occupying a rental. The personal touches added to the feeling of warmth and comfort. What a treat to have stacked wood for the Kiva available. Perfect to take the edge off a bit of October chill. Thoroughly enjoyed the welcoming greeting and bottle of wine to start the week. As previously mentioned by former guests, the distance to the Santa Fe area points of interest was a non-issue. Just far enough to escape the hustle and bustle of tourism, but close enough to quickly access anything you might need. We would not hesitate to recommend these accommodations to anyone. Thank you, Michael, for sharing your home.

My mother, aunt, cousin and I enjoyed our week at Michael and Xandra's home tremendously. The listing was accurate, the place was immaculate, the homeowners most helpful. We watched the sunset every night, then had dinner and went back out to look at the stars. Eldorado is close enough to Santa Fe to be very convenient--we enjoyed the O'Keeffe Museum/Cafe and Project Tibet and La Casa Sena restaurant. Would definitely recommend the house to any group who needs multiple bedrooms and bathrooms.

We stayed for a week in July with a house full of family and the vacation was what I hoped for. The house is lovelier than the pictures. The Plaza in Santa Fe is 30 minutes away and I couldn't wait to get back to the house in the evening to watch the sunsets from the back patio. We used the well-stocked kitchen as there is a great food store 5 minutes away. Michael was very accommodating and I would definitely stay here again as well as recommending it to others. I miss the serenity already.

We spent the first week in July in this home, and it was beautiful, inside and out. The views of the mountains are spectacular. Away from it all, but just a short drive to the plaza, casinos, horsebackriding, etc. Michael was very helpful and easy to communicate with, and thank you, Michael, for returning my daughters' phone she left there. The only thing that would make it better would be air conditioning, it was a little warm in the evenings, but I would definetely stay there again.

We had picked this property as home base for a 3-night 50th birthday celebration—we had wanted peace & quiet not too far from the glitter of Santa Fe and access to the High Road. The home exceeded our expectations in every way, and the descriptions and pictures on the listing were spot on. At every step, we had perfect communication from the owners. The house sits among a tranquil neighborhood of adobe houses with a view of the open expanse of the desert, with hills and mountains on the horizon nearly at every turn. Stepping in to the views from the living room, den, and bedrooms instantly washed away any hint of tiredness from the drive in. Every room was perfect and the home exquisitely maintained. The back patio with a Kiva fireplace was soon the scene of a long family huddle in front of a crackling fire fueled with plenty of cordwood from a pile in the corner of the patio, and for the fireside dinner, exquisite New York style pizza from “Pizza Centro” nearby served with a glass of the Nero d’Avola that was waiting for us on the kitchen countertop as a welcome-home gift from the owners. The starlit sky on each of the cool nights, and the beauty of the quiet sunrise made for peaceful strolls from home with frequent stops to take in the wonder of it all. Less than a 10-minute drive led us to the Agora Shopping Center, the source of our pizza, all that we needed from a superbly stocked supermarket, and a lazy afternoon lunch at Copa d’Oro’s courtyard there. An easy 25-minute drive took us to Santa Fe for dinner, or on strolls to the museums and shops off the Plaza. And it was an easy daytrip to Chimayo and Truchas for a memorable drive down the High Road. The natural beauty of Eldorado, the rocking bench on the porch at home, the fireplace on the back patio, and the wonderful food and company served a teenager (who hardly turned on the TV), a grandmother who toasted her 50-year old offspring with a glass of the finest, two couples keen on hiking, art, and spa treatments: and we all felt completely at home.

Great location, very quiet with lovely views from the backyard patio. We were here 9 days and toured Santa Fe, Taos and many other locations. Santa Fe was an easy 15-20 minute drive so we had no problem finding great places to eat every evening. Did not use the kitchen much but it is first class if you like preparing your own meals...everything you need is their. Highly recommend the Cowgirl Cafe in Santa Fe for affordable excellent meals, Dinner, Lunch and Sunday Breakfast all great ...Had an exceptional dinner at El Farol on Canyon Road as well. Santa Fe is very cool laid back town.

It was such a all around great experience staying at this house. It is so beautiful, and the house is so well equipped. The kitchen has all upscale appliances and utensils. The owners have taken such care to make sure that every detail is well thought out and taken care of. The sheets, blankets and towels are all kush, the HUGE HD tv was marvelous, the decor supurb. I really enjoyed the indoor sunken tub and the wonderful three nozel shower in the master suite. The photos don't reflect what a wonderful place this is. I visited with my Mom, 75, and my daughter, 10, and each one separetly said to me that they would like to live in this house. I understand why, I had the same thought myself.

I am selfishly reluctant to write a review so that I can keep this rental available for me and my family! The home is a very comfortable get away with easy access to all that Santa Fe has to offer. You won't be disappointed unless you'd prefer to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the hotel strip or the market area. Cool breezes, majestic sunsets and starry nights envelop a well equipped home and spacious grounds. Rent and enjoy a home to relax and enjoy the beauty NM.

My husband and I were looking for a quiet location outside of Santa Fe with mountain views and this home was perfect for us. The back patio looks out on native plantings and mountain views and has comfortable chairs and patio tables. We wish we could have spent more time on the patio but we picked the one week in October that was a bit chilly, but we still enjoyed the patio. The native landscaping around the home was well done and appropriate for the area. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything that you could possibly need. All the appliances were good quality and up to date. The bathroom even had a hairdryer and scale. The bedrooms and the bathrooms are not pictured in the listing, but they were just as well done as the rest of the house. The house was clean and well maintained and Michael was very helpful and easy to communicate with and provided good detailed information about the house and its equipment. The home is close enough to the Interstate to make it convenient to take the many day trips available in the area. We enjoyed Taos, Los Alamos (the Bradbury Science Museum is wonderful), Bandelier National Monument, Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch and of course the Plaza. We would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a quiet, natural location.

This gorgeous home was even better than the pictures. We loved it! Peaceful, relaxing, spotlessly clean. Luxurious furnishings and bed linens. And so quiet. I spent many hours after midnight gazing into the spectacular night sky. We don't see skies like that where we come from! Loved Eldorado, too. Just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Santa Fe. Working with Michael was delightful and easy. No surprises, just a week in heaven. I would highly recommend this home to other travelers.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR THAT PERFECT MIX OF BEING CLOSE TO EVERYTHING OR NOTHING WHICH EVER YOU PREFER. THE HOME OWNERS WERE EXTREMELY KIND AND HELPFUL WITH THE WHOLE PROCESS!! NOTE : THE RESTAURANT UP THE STREET NEXT TO THE LOCAL FOOD MARKET WAS FABULOUS. GREAT FOOD, ENTERTAINMENT AND SERVICE!

This was our 5th vacation to the Land of Enchantment for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. My husband and I always stayed in within walking distance to the Plaza in Santa Fe. This trip we were traveling with good friends of ours and decided that we all would like to be away from the downtown area. We chose this beautiful house from the photos posted on the website. First of all, the photos do not do this home justice! The home was everything and more then we could have imagined. It was decorated with pieces from the homeowner's, Michael and Alexandra, personal travels and many southwestern touches one would expect from an adobe home. There was more than enough room for the four of us. We had great weather, mid 80's and 70's during the day, and mother nature provided us with a electrical storm everynight that could be seen coming for miles which we enjoyed while sitting by the outdoor fireplace! The views of the mountains and city lights were spectacular! Can't remember the last time we saw so many stars! This spotless home does not want for anything, lots of towels, linens, firewood. We took advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and lunched in several of the restaurants down in the Plaza. On our last night we found a great place close to the house called Copa de Oro in the Agora Center in Eldorado. We had a wonderful meal and time for our 22nd wedding anniversary. All in all, we had a fabulous time and would recommend this home to anyone traveling to Santa Fe that just wanted to get away from it all. This is the place! Hopefully, we will be back!

Wonderful place for visiting friends to stay. Lovely kitchen, large dining room. Enjoyed several rounds of cards and games with our extended group. Outside space is beautiful.

We picked the house based on the pictures on vrbo and liked it instantly. Our experience was consistent with our first impressions. The house was exactly in the condition that we were promised - well maintained and very family friendly. It is in a great location - exactly what we were looking at - outside the city and very peaceful surroundings. Best part was the clear sky in the night! The owners were extremely professional in their dealings. Highly recommend this house!!

My family and I spent a week at this Eldorado house and it was heaven. The home is beautiful and the area is stunning. You get the best of both worlds. We would take a short drive to Santa Fe for the day and come home and watch shooting stars off the patio at night. The house has 3 nice size bedrooms and is decorated with an artist's touch. Air conditioning? You don't need it. We were there in August and it was very comfortable. The nights were cool and the breeze brought in the fresh scent of sagebrush flora. Tired of Santa Fe? We went horseback riding and fishing not far from Eldorado. The owners are wonderful and the house is a bargin. Don't miss this one.

My family stayed in this house for a week and had a great time. The house had 3 nice-sized bedrooms, was well-stocked with kitchen supplies, and the best part was the patio, which offered outstanding views. Michael was great to work with too. He gave well-thought out directions to the house and tips to explore Santa Fe. He also sent my deposit check back within a week of our stay. My sister, who lives in Santa Fe, is keeping Michael's information for future guests... enjoy!

The home was lovely. It was very comfortable. We were gone most of the day, but the evenings were nice and quiet. I enjoyed the wildlife around the home as well as the sweet smell of lavender. We would love to stay again in the near future.

We were exceptionally pleased with the Kaufman rental home in Santa Fe. It was lovely, organized with all the amenities (both small and large) that we have had in our own home, and sparkling clean. If anything, the only down side was that we had to stretch to leave it in about as good a shape as when we first arrived. We highly recommend it, except for the period of time that we hope to rent it again during 2011!

When I was planning our vacation to Santa Fe, I was hoping to find a home we could stay in that would be pleasant, quiet and clean with a view of the mountains. Close enough to the city to explore but a bit out so we could see the stars at night. What I discovered when we arrived was not only a wonderful host, but an absolutely beautiful home with a magnificent view, everything and more than I hoped. The pictures don't include the bedrooms or master bath, but they are LOVELY. Every detail we needed for a wonderful stay was provided. What a serene experience. Thank you Michael for offering such a peaceful home to those of looking for enchantment.

This is a beautifully appointed home that is both spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect allowing us to view the gorgeous night sky that is famous to the region. My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this home. The home is well decorated and provided everything we needed during our stay. The owners are very pleasant and helpful, making the transaction effortless. I have used VRBO multiple times in the past and again, I was not disappointed. I will definitely recommend this home to family and friends. If you are plannning a visit to Santa Fe book this home. You will be very pleased!

We would strongly recommend staying at this beautiful upscale home. It is fairly large inside with all the necessary amenities and is well kept. It is situated in a quiet, scenic neighborhood just outside of Santa Fe. It would be ideal for a retreat vacation or a family get together. It was extremely affordable and its owners were very friendly and accommodating. We hope to return for another visit very soon.
