Located in a quiet cu-de-sac close to the private resort beach Playa Minitas, this 10,000 sq ft home was built by the owner for their own retirement with a commensurate attention to detail. It can can easily accommodate extended families for get-togethers. With two big screen TV sitting rooms, on different floors & at opposite ends of the house, diverse viewing needs can be accommodated - the kids can be sent to the second floor one while the adults can unwind enjoying a different fare. (All bedrooms also have Cable TV)
The surrounding gardens have been planted with lush tropical gardens with an abundance of fruit trees, bordering a grove of 25-30 ft high bamboo. The nearly 40 ton central air conditioning system that independently cools all sleeping areas, two TV studies, the living and the dining rooms, ensures that guests can sleep and relax at comfortable temperatures. All bedrooms have walk-in closets and private bathrooms. All five second-floor bedrooms also have ceiling fans.
Sitting on the covered terrace enjoying the Caribbean breeze whisper through the bamboo fronds in the morning for a sunrise, whilst the tropical birds sing, creates a soothing and calming influence for even the busiest and wildest souls. In addition, if occupancy is adults only, the rooftop private sundeck can be opened and is easily accessible with an internal stair for sunbathing, or relaxing under the stars.

Why the Owner Chose La Romana
The resort is a sportspersons paradise, centrally located between the communities of Santo Domingo and Punta Cana and served by three airports. (LRM, SDQ Las Americas Santo Domingo, & Punta Cana). My family & I have lived in this community for the past 24 years and in 2004 we completed construction of this dream home. At the beginning of 2009 we refurbished the house with the guidance and vision of Dominican decorator Maria del Carmen DeFillo.

The Unique Benefits at this Villa
The villa is centrally located within the resort & is easily accessible to the golf starters for all of five of the Pete Dye designed courses, the marina/shops and the beach. The tennis village with its clay courts is a short 10 minute drive and the equestrian center a bit closer. Cycling is terrific. Sporting clays, trap, skeet and flyers are world class about a 20 minute drive. We enjoy walking the 5 km jogging track early morning or evening through the gardens. I find that arising very early at daybreak to walk the beach as the sun rises to be a moving time for reflection.
