We fell in love with the architecture of this old Tahoe classic home when we purchased it in 1991. We have chosen the furnishings carefully to reflect the era. We have enjoyed it many times and are now opening it for others to enjoy. Sitting on one half acre, this 2300 square foot home has 3 bedrooms, all with a view of the lake, 2 bathrooms and sleeps 7, plus small children. Our Guests will be able to enjoy the use of the Agate Bay Private Swim Club during their stay at the house in the summer months. You will love the Olympic size swimming pool and hot tubs with life guard! Lounge chairs with umbrellas and tables. A large lawn area is also great for sun bathing, picnicking or relaxing. The snack shack serves wonderful sandwiches, salads, drinks and sweet treats. Tennis Courts & Volleyball courts are there for your enjoyment as well. Fun for all ages.
Enjoy the living room with its Rocky Mountain Granite fireplace with wood fire box (wood provided), VCR, CD player, WIFI, books and games. Relax or entertain in the upstairs sitting room while looking at beautiful Lake Tahoe. Two bedrooms have TVs and the master bedroom also has a relaxing Jacuzzi with view of the lake. There is also a view of the lake as you are taking a shower. Although there are many great restaurants in the area, you might just want to create a gourmet meal in our well appointed kitchen - with spices and staples provided. In good weather, you will probably want to relax, eat and entertain on our large deck that faces the lake or cook S'MORES on the side deck's fire pit. With a large size laundry room and mud room, there is space for storage as well as products we provide - soap, toilet paper, paper towels and tissues.
Our driveway is circular and can accommodate three cars. Another unpaved driveway can accommodate your boat and/or camper. In winter, snow is removed by contract from the driveway and the private road that is Nile Street.
The house is in the perfect location, no matter what the season. You can enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, golf, horseback riding, rafting, swimming, tennis, skiing, snowboarding, gambling and shopping - all within a 9 mile radius.

- On the lake there is paddle boarding which is a new thrill. You can rent bicycles to peddle on the bike paths around the lake and along side the Truckee River. At the house we have a Bocce Ball game set. We have horseshoes for the whole family. There is badminton, and a Ladder Game that is so much fun for one and all. There is a library of DVDs and the X Box with Video games and VCR's. We have swimming toys, children's books and play toys for a variety of ages.

Carole was an Administrator and Principle for many years in El Grove and Herm was a Financial Planner in Marin County for many years. Carole now volunteering for an organization that is replacing open pit fires in rural homes in Central America. We are bringing in environmentally safe smokeless stoves through Stove Team International. We both enjoy traveling with friends, reading and playing golf
The Unique Benefits of this House
Lake Tahoe, Patton Beach, The Old Post Office (breakfast restaurant) and Garwoods, Sunnyside and Jake's Restaurants are all on the lake with music on weekends are only a few blocks away as well as a 7 – 11 Store and CB’s Pizza. Sierra Boat Company & Marina, where the Woody Boat Show is held each year, is also here.
For winter enthusiasts, Agate Bay is surrounded by Squaw Valley, Northstar, Mt. Rose, Diamond Peak and Alpine Meadows ski resorts. Cross country skiing is also excellent as well as areas to view the lake while snowshoeing.
Lots of shopping and great restaurants can be found in Kings Beach - 4 miles away - and in Tahoe City - 5 miles away. A great Safeway store is in Kings Beach.
North Shore Casinos – Cal Neva, Nugget, Biltmore and Crystal Bay are 6 miles away.
Golf – courses in Kings Beach and Tahoe City as well as miniature golf across from Gar Woods Restaurant.
There is complete maid service following your departure, including complete house cleaning, all linens washed and changed and beds made. (Maid service is available during your stay, if arranged in advance.)
There is an ironing board and iron, if anything should require pressing. There is a vacuum, broom and mop should you need one. A snow shovel is provided should it snow while you are there. We contract a snow removal service for the roads and driveway for the winter season.
Each bathroom has soap, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and a hair dryer.

We had such a good time. We had perfect weather, so the kids were able to go Para Sailing and Boating. The "family time" was much needed and much enjoyed. We didn't even mind housework while we were here. I've never smiled so much while doing the dishes!!! As I look out the window at the lake with the sun glistening on it. I find it very hard to leave. It's so peaceful and is our absolute favorite place to be. We have wonderful memories. Tracy, Jack, Nick & Carly T.

Outside looks like an extravagant moving picture postcard. Even when out in it, the snow seems warm and forgiving. The atmosphere inside this house is one of instant welcome and a feeling of coming home. I can only imagine the aura of past happy visitors that have been soaked up and become part of this gracious home. Lanny H.

I can tell you that it doesn't get any better than this - especially when it is 106 in the valley. Once again, we had perfect weather, 80 - 85 degrees. And, we love the new rugs. I truly believe our family enjoys this house more than anyone who vacations here. It feels like home. It is so comfortable, making it hard to leave. But, we'll be back. T.
