We spent a great weekend at this house with our 5 children. The home is laid out really well and very nicely furnished and equipped. The box of toys was very much enjoyed by my children. My three year old especially liked playing with the UVA pom-poms. We loved the amazing views from the deck that runs the length of the house. We hope to return if we are in the area and recommend it to anyone considering renting a home in Wintergreen.

This is an amazing property. It has all the warmth and charm of a mountain home including an awesome view from the back deck, spacious clean and wonderfully comfortable accommodations and a large fully equipped kitchen. The lot had a large convenient parking area making it easy to unload all our gear so we were unpacked and ready to experience all the fun in no time at all. Our family has decided to make this an annual event!

This house exceeds the pictures in the internet, it is nicely decorated, very well equipped and maintained, I would definitively go back and recommend it to my friends. The owner is very helpful, I called her for a couple of questions and she replied inmediatelly!

My wife and I, along with friends stayed here Oct 21 & 22 to participate in the Tough Mudder. The pictures online are BEAUTIFUL, and still do no justice to the house! It is PERFECT! Spacious, comfy, and CONVENIENT to say the least. Parking for the event was approximately 5-6 miles from the event. This house was 1.58 miles from where we registered at the lodge! I could go on and on, but in a word, PERFECTION is what I come up with EVERY time! We hope to rent this house again next year! Thank you Laura for a GREAT stay!

The pictures do not do justice of either the house or the views. The house is immaculate and had everything we needed for an incredible Columbus Day weekend getaway. Plenty of room, very comfortable (especially the leather chair and ottoman!!) and close enough to the attractions our family planned. The Walton Museum and house, The Grand Caves, and Monticello are all under 50 minutes away. The views from the house of the Shenandoah Valley are spectacular day or night. The autumn colors really popped during the three days we were there. While the neighboring houses on either side are visible from the porch, the house felt very private and quiet. We would go back in a heartbeat - thank you for sharing your home with us!

My family vacation has included the renting of at least one house each year at various locations now for over a number of decades. My personal critical evaluation factors, as I have aged, given clean, well-maintained, location etc, have dwindled to two factors, the quality and quanity of the wine glasses and the comfort of the mattress on my assigned bed. My wife adds the quality and quanity of the kitchen utensils and equipment and her subjective rating of the "feel" of the place. This house scores a 10 out of 10.

This house is perfect from top to bottom! The inside is very clean, nicely decorated, and just beautiful. The deck is amazing and the views are wonderful! The location is also quite nice for summer visits (we were there in August) as the outdoor pool is just at the end of the street. The tennis club is quite close which we highly recommend. And the spa is also nearby and very nice! Hiking trails are all over the mountain, beautiful sites to see in the summer. Perfect place for most anyone. My parents came along with our family of 3 and we had more than enough room. Highly suggest booking a stay at this beautiful mountain retreat!

My family and I (2 parents and 6 children, ages 19 - 9) had the great pleasure of staying in this home in July 2011. What a treat! While our friends and neighbors back home baked in 100 degree heat, we enjoyed 75-80 degree weather overlooking the Shenandoah Valley. Wonderful! The home is spacious and has all the amenities, including a great kitchen and lovely deck (with gas grill) overlooking the valley. The resort pool is a 30 second walk away, and we all enjoyed several long hikes to great waterfalls that the kids throroughly enjoyed. This was the perfect summer getaway week for us, and we are so very grateful to the owners for opening this home up to folks like us! No agenda, no schedule, just cool mountain air and lovely trails and creeks, with games and books galore. What a great week! Tony and Dee Dee

Five of us spent a weekend in this lovely home in mid-June. The home is in a gorgeous setting, with a lovely deck overlooking woods and mountains. The location is quiet and peaceful, and also walking distance to a pool, the Wintergreen aquatic and fitness center, nature trail, etc. The inside of the home is beautifully outfitted and very comfortable -- ample rooms, beds, bathrooms and hang-out space for five people. It is also very nicely-equipped, with a fireplace, great kitchen, and even a wine fridge! And the owner was incredibly conscientious and easy to work with. We'd highly recommend this place to any family or small group looking for a great homebase for a getaway!

We spent Memorial Day weekend at the Clark home and had a super time. There were two families in the house for the weekend with 4 kids between the ages of 2 and 4. The deck was a perfect place for the kids to play and the adults to relax. The cul-de-sac made for a safe place for the kids to ride bikes and play ball, and it was an easy walk to the playground and pool. We all felt like we had enough space (3 bathrooms!) in the house and the kitchen was well stocked, easy to cook in, and had all the kitchenware we needed for the weekend. We have rented several places at Wintergreen and this was by far the best. Laura was a pleasure to work with, and we look forward to returning next year!

Your home is beautiful! We felt so cozy. Two families with 4 total kids fit perfectly and no one felt like they were being crowded. We loved how close to the slopes you are - very easy drive and parking was no problem. Thank you for providing linens - that makes packing with 2 young boys SO much easier! Overall, we definitely plan to make this a yearly trip!
Owner response:Shannon, I am so glad you all had a great time. We know what it's like to travel with boys and all of their stuff! Thanks again for renting with us! Best, Laura

This was our second ski weekend staying at the Clark's home and we will be going back again! It fits two families very comfortably, is well decorated, clean and cozy. The kitchen is great for relaxing dinners after long days on the slopes. We love that linens are provided and the beds are comfortable. Looking forward to returning during warmer weather to enjoy the views from the deck, hiking and warm weather activities!
Owner response:Chrissie, Thank you so much for your kind words. We are always trying to do things to make your stay even better! We look forward to having you and your friends back again. Take good care, Laura

This is our first time at Wintergreen. Our family had a great time at the house, which had everything we needed. It had a gorgeous view and very nice decoration. Everyone in our group said we should rent this house again for the next visit. Both the slopes and the spy are nearby. The kids loved skiing and tubing. It was always nice to come back and relax after a full day of fun activities.

Beautiful house and great location...close enough to the center of the resort but removed so you still felt away from it all. The house is well equipped with everything you need to feel pampered and comfortable. Our families had a wonderful holiday and would definitely return again. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

My husband and I recently stayed at this Wintergreen house for my birthday weekend and we had a wonderful time. Not only was the house cozy with awesome views of the woods and mountains, we were pleasantly surprised at how close to everything it was including the spa and restaurants. The house was clean, the furniture comfortable, and included all the amenities. We would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I took a short vacation to wintergreen and stayed two nights at this cabin. As soon as we walked inside our jaws were on the floor for about an hour. It is welcoming, cozy, and first class! It has everything you want for a mountain getaway, including a spectacular view from the panoramic back porch. All we could think about was how much we want to bring back some of our friends to share this wonderful place with. Wintergreen itself is fun enough. We went in September, so obviously there was no skiing going on. There are a couple delicious breakfast places nearby, and a great lunch place at the bottom of the mountain called Devil's Backbone.

I have rented several vacation homes in the past, and I can say this house was one of the best! Very clean and well maintained - we had 3 kids between 2-5 yrs, and everywhere in and out around the house was very clean and safe. The location of the house is very ideal - close enough to all the resort amenities but isolated enough to feel like you are in the middle of mountain. The owner made the whole rental process very easy from signing the agreement to refund of the deposit. Highly highly recommended!

We just spent a wonderful week at this lovely Wintergreen home. We have two young boys and the house is very family friendly, the boys loved the bunk bed room with the children's movies and toy bin in the closet! The view was amazing and the deck goes across the entire back of the house, so that is where we spent most of our time!! We were travelling with my mother and elderly step father (80's) who doesn't walk very well any longer and this is the first house we stayed in that has an amazing view, but NOT a lot of steps (almost none actually). We decided within 5 minutes of arriving that this is where we want to stay next year as well - in fact, I sent out my deposit today! The furnishings were beautiful, the beds so comfortable, very close to the pool (but not close enough to be bothered by any noise from the pool). I would highly recommend this home to anyone and we look forward to our next stay!

I took 5 college guys who comprise a church singing group on a one-night retreat here. They were psyched from the moment the van turned the corner onto Peavy Point. From the wrap-around porch to the high vaulted ceiling to the spacious, open great room to the generous-sized bedrooms, to the serene views from the "window-walls", to the super-quiet dishwasher, this site was perfect! It inspired these guys as they tackled their retreat assignments. And the true icing-on-the cake was the two Bibles on the mantle over the fireplace. As we searched the scriptures we found different perspectives from several different Bible versions/translations, and those Bibles added to our comparative study and our ultimate understanding. Everything we needed was right there, including extra linens, towels and paper products, plus a few spices for cooking. We did not leave the site until time to vacate the premises, and didn't want to leave even then. We will definitely try to book this site again!
