Location: Angel Fire, New Mexico, USA (Approx a 3 Hour Drive North of Albuquerque)
Accommodations: House, 4 Bedrooms + Loft, 2.5+ Baths (Sleeps 8-10)
Keywords: Single Family Dwelling
Our Passive Solar home sits at 8800 feet above sea level. All the large glass windows face South.
Open the drapes during the day on sunny days to allow the sun to heat the home. Close the drapes before sundown to preserve the heat.
A large wood burning fireplace with ducting and fans will warm the second floor living area quite well. Plenty of cut wood is available for the fireplace.
Base board heating is in the downstairs bedrooms. With the bedroom doors closed, the bedrooms stay quite warm.
The laundry room is across the hall from the galley type kitchen.
The master bedroom with queen down the hall from the living area. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs, one a king, one a queen. A bedroom upstairs in the loft with twin beds. 2 futons are also in the loft balcony.
We try to keep the carpet clean by removing our shoes at the door.
In winter 4x4 or chains may be necessary. The road is wide and graded. There is a steep spot prior to my home, and the driveway has a slope. The driveway is long enough that
several cars can be parked off the road without getting on
the slope.
For the maid service to have time to prepare for the next guests, we ask you arrive after 4pm, and depart prior to 9am. These times are flexible if there are no guests arriving or departing and the same day.

This house was perfect for the entire family. Large house with plenty of beds and space. The large fire place kept the house warm at night, and the sun through the windows kept it warm during the day. The view from all the balconies was breath taking. We stay in town last year, and really enjoyed being up the mountain and out of town in this home vs. the smaller condo last year. Would highly recommend and more than likely return. As for the beds and trash, everywhere I've stayed in Angel fire required this, it's not out of the ordinary.

My family and I rented this nice house for our 'first annual family ski trip'. All of us were very comfortable in the home. The scenery from inside and out on the decks was amazing; especially with the snow! We were all in agreement that we would stay there again if it is available. The convenience to the ski lift and grocery store/dining was great. The early checkout time and having to take the trash to town was a little inconvenient but we managed. It would probably not keep us from renting this house again in the future.

We really enjoyed this home in Angel Fire...beautiful views and very comfortable home. Plenty of wood to burn and the home stayed warm enough just with the fireplace. the only negative was we had to strip our beds and take the trash with us.....not a big deal but when you are on vacation this is minimal stuff that the maid could easily handle. Thanks for such a good stay!! We will consider returning next year!
