La Bella Villa is a unique, hand-crafted home made of island stone and masonry. It has a gorgeous view of Coral Bay and of beautiful Bordeaux Mountain. The house itself has all the character and warmth of a traditional Caribbean home, yet it is modern, well equipped, clean, and comfortable. Romantics will adore this picturesque and idyllic home and marvel at the architectural touches.
The house faces Coral Bay: its 12 by 40 foot long covered porch lures you into sitting outside to read, watch the view, talk and simply enjoy comfortable outside living. Each room has a beautiful view and each bedroom is individually appointed with island art and touches. And you’ll love the magnificent mahogany shutters and doors (all fully screened, of course) all around the house.
Behind a Caribbean stone wall and next to the villa, La Bella Villa’s pool deck provides the perfect place for enjoying St. John’s sun and the views of Coral Bay and Bordeaux Mountain. The fresh water outdoor pool has ready access to a shower from the deck area as well as an entrance to the kitchen. With lounge chairs, a table and umbrella for reading by the pool, beach towels, and a nearby gas grill, you have all the comforts for an afternoon in the sun. We also provide beach chairs and a cooler for beach outings.
Opening from the pool deck, the kitchen is a NEFF custom kitchen featuring a granite sink and concrete counters. It is modern and fully equipped.
The living room is furnished with traditional Caribbean furniture. With vaulted ceilings, ceiling fans, tiled floors and Caribbean art, it has a relaxing and inviting interior. For your entertainment, a British Colonial-style armoire houses the entertainment center, including a nice collection of movies, CDs, and games for guests’ pleasure.
The beautiful mahogany doors open to the 500 square foot deck with a fabulous view of Coral Bay. The porch has a wooden table which seats 6 for relaxed, al fresco dining. A comfy sofa and wicker rocking chairs make the porch an outdoor living room, cooled by breezes from Coral Bay and by ceiling fans.
La Bella Villa sleeps 4 comfortably in its two bedrooms, and has a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the living room for up to 2 more. The master bedroom features a romantic, British Colonial king-sized four-poster bed with luxurious linens, sconce lights above the bed, mahogany closets, a floor mirror, ceiling fans for a comfortable breeze, and views through jalousied/screened doors onto the porch and to Coral Bay itself. The master bath has a full, island style, walk-in tiled shower, footed sink, and comfortable privacy.
The second bedroom features a queen-sized bed as well as palm tree lamps on mahogany night stands. Overlooking the pool and with windows on three sides, this charming bedroom also features luxurious linens, Caribbean art, a ceiling fan for a cool breeze, and mahogany doors and window shutters.
After a day in the pool or at the beach, it is a short drive to one of the many fine or fun restaurants for which St. John is well known, including the famous Skinny Legs, Sweet Plantains, Aqua Bistro, Shipwreck Landing and others right in Coral Bay. A 20-minute ride takes you to Cruz Bay which features numerous other great restaurants and more shopping.
Perhaps best of all is the great access to the popular, beautiful North Shore beaches and the opportunity to explore South Shore and East End beaches, which are less frequented.
A variety of birds frequent the immediate area which, depending upon the season, may include the largest hummingbirds you have ever seen, even parrots, and our popular native bird, the little but gorgeous bananaquit. Coral Bay, which is a little more funky and laid back than the Cruz Bay area of St. John, is also known for the island donkeys and goats that wander the streets and occasionally come near the villa. Our very own iguana family lives in the trees off the decks. And the night sounds of the tree frogs will lull you into a deep restful sleep.
Couples and families – adventurers, romantics, or those wanting just to relax -- will adore this picturesque and idyllic villa. We have a 5-day minimum stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Bella Villa! We quickly felt like it was our home and just enjoyed every aspect of the villa! Our 16 yr. old loved it as well; there is always plenty for her to do in St. John, and she absolutely loves it there as do we! Each day we got up and went to at least two different beaches, and snorkeled every day in every place and saw so much. As for the villa, we had a great breeze throughout the villa, and did not need A/C! Our 16 yr old loved her outdoor shower!!! We felt the villa was very well appointed with everything we could possibly need. I even cooked two meals in so we could stay longer at the beaches and see the sunset a couple nights. The master bed was quite comfy by the way, and I really cannot think of anything that needs improvement at all. The pool was great. :) Thanks so much for allowing us to stay and make more wonderful memories in St. John!

We just got back last night and we miss La Bella Villa and St. John so much already! Everything about our stay was wonderful and exciting. You home is beautiful and the view was stupendous.... After we got over the sticker shock on the groceries, we had a number of dinners at home and nights out at Island Blues and other places....It was an amazing experience from the first moment we contacted you to the moment we (sadly) packed up to go home. Thank you so much. I certainly hope we'll be back and we're already telling firiends and family where their next vacation in paradise needs to be!

We have simply been blown away by the beauty of St John and La Bella Villa1 This was our first visit to both, but it won’t be our last! This has been the most perfect spot to celebrate our 30 year anniversary – we’ve decided that the island lifestyle definitely brings out the youth in us! We’ve watched gorgeous sunrises right here on the veranda overlooking Coral Bay as well as breath-taking sunsets at Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay. We’ve hit the usual highlights and loved them all. Most of all, we have loved the people of St John – we met so many warm and wonderful locals…. Thank you again for the use of your gorgeous home! [Okay, the truth is my husband is going to have to drag me out of here kicking and screaming because I don’t want to leave! But…. I will be back! BP]

Thank you, again, for sharing your lovely home in Coral Bay. We had a fantastic trip - snorkeled everyday, went on several beautiful hikes, ate terrific seafood and really enjoyed our time on St. John. I think it's definitely a place that we'll want to return to, in the future. Your home made a terrific "home base" for all of our adventures - believe it or not, we never even swam in the pool because we were at the beach, everyday, enjoying the wonderful ocean and all of the amazing sea creatures. Thank you so much for opening your exquisite villa to us this past week! It surpassed EVERY expectation and is truly a piece of paradise. After 2 previous trips to the other side of the island, we’ve decided that Coral Bay is the ONLY way to go! Quiet, beautiful, with just enough restaurants and nightlife. What a great thing to be here! We head home tomorrow completely relaxed and renewed.

This is our first entry in this guestbook but it will NOT be the last! We are here on our honeymoon, and could not have chosen a better place to spend this special time. Everything about La Bella Villa was perfect. We enjoyed grilling by the pool, the outdoor shower, cocktails on the front porch – and on relaxing nights we watched great movies from your selection. We are so happy we chose lazy Coral Bay over Cruz Bay!... We were a little apprehensive that we wouldn’t have enough to do on such a small island but we found we didn’t have enough time to experience everything! This is a trip we’ll never forget. We truly feel like La Bella Villa and St. John revitalized us.

If the rest of our year is as wonderful as this first week, we will be doing great. J and I loved the chance to come back once again to beautiful La Bella Villa. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate being able to use your beautiful home on this amazing island. Our favorites from our first trip and our honeymoon still apply but we added some new ones this time…. We love it here and are sad to go home. Thank you again.
