Location: Peninsula, San Jose del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico View Map

Accommodations:  Condominium, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)

Upon opening the door you are greeted by Mexican inspired decor and hand-carved, locally made furniture. The walls are finished in warm, colonial colors while the floors and counter-tops are accented with traditional hand-made tiles. The gentle hacienda appeal lends itself to a more laid-back and relaxed lifestyle, which makes our apartment a wonderful place to unwind after spending a day at the beach or exploring the back roads of Cabo.

Our apartment overlooks the exclusive Tortuga Bay Resort and offers you beautiful, nearly unobstructed views of the Sea of Cortes with sweeping vistas from Punta Palmilla up to Punta Gorda. The development itself is surrounded on three sides by The Grand Mayan Resort Golf Course so even when sitting out on the terrace there is a most secluded and intimate appeal. Being on the top floor of The Peninsula, our unit enjoys lush, balmy, tropical breezes that keep the atmosphere buoyant and enjoyable. However, for those times when humidity or heat closes-in the air-conditioners cool the entire unit in mere minutes.

While not adverse to accommodating children, our condominium is not equipped for the needs of an infant. The bedroom is furnished with an ample queen-size bed and the living room offers a futon-style convertible sofa. The convertible will comfortably sleep two adults or, perhaps, up to 3 children. While the bathroom is fitted with a roomy shower, like most Mexican residences, it DOES NOT have a bath tub so please keep this in mind when considering the necessities of your child.

The Peninsula is a PRIVATE and newly GATED community of 63 condominiums. It is lushly landscaped with flowering Bougainvillea and many species of fruit-bearing trees throughout it's welcoming exterior spaces. Villa 5, in particular, is immediately next to The Peninsula's Grand Palapa, immense infinity edge pool and rest-room/shower facilities, making it an ideal location for barbecuing and dining al fresco with your family and friends.

Ocean View and Walk to Beach from the Grand Mayan G.C.

Year Purchased: 2005

Why the Owner Chose Peninsula

Because Los Cabos is, without a doubt, one of the most incredible places on Earth. The people, the weather, the beaches, the food...just wonderful.
And...because The Peninsula is conveniently located. It is close to EVERYTHING...the beach, downtown San Jose, Mega. You can literally WALK to whatever you need!

The Unique Benefits at this Condominium

Waking up just before dawn to watch the sky as the sun breaks the horizon. Sitting on the terrace in late afternoon with a mojito and listening to the sound of the waves as they come rolling in. Watching the whales play during their annual migration. Floating in our enormous pool. Chilling under the Grand Palapa with a cold cerveza while grilling some steaks on the BBQ. Driving the East Cape Road and discovering new beaches. Scuba diving at Cabo Pulmo. Making our way back home via the Palo Escopeta road and being blessed with the most furious shades of red, magenta, violet and orange as the sun sets in front of you. Snorkeling at Playa Santa Maria or Chileno Bay. Zip-lining up in the arroyo at Costa Azul. The February Art Festival in Todos Santos. The nightlife and glitz of San Lucas. The understated elegance of dining out followed by a stroll through the Art District in San Jose.

    • Just thinking about our visit to San Jose del Cabo has me looking at airfares. I can’t wait to go back. Our accommodations at the condominium were perfect, situated just steps from the beach and with in close proximity to town. The moment I stepped into the apartment I felt embraced by its warmth and charm. The colors and the furnishings carefully chosen by the owners captured the feeling of the Baja peninsula. There was plenty of room to spread out and relax and the kitchen was well equipped for when we wanted to stay in. The bedroom was unbelievably comfortable. Sleeping in in the morning was a luxury we fully enjoyed. Some days it was nice to just lie in a lounge chair by the pool and bask in the sun with a good book surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees, taking a dip in the pool or pulling in under the shade of the palapa for lunch. We ate delicious food in the local restaurants and found treasures in the unique shops. The coast was the reason we came and we were never disappointed. One beach more breathtaking than the next we went swimming, snorkeling and whale watching allowing plenty of time for napping in the sand. For us it was a wonderfully romantic getaway and much needed reprieve from our very busy lives. It was everything I wanted a vacation to be. I could not have been more pleased with the natural beauty of Mexico, the friendliness of the people and the comfort of our surroundings.

    • We had a wonderful time here. We dubbed this place CaboCasa because it was our home away from home. You walk in and it’s immediately comfortable, but its definitely like you know are on vacation. The view from the bedroom looks out to the mountains, and from the living room looks out over the terrace to the sea. Because it looks out over the golf course its quiet and completely private, and, though there are great breakfast places nearby, we particularly enjoyed sitting out on the terrace with our morning coffee, fresh mango, melon, papaya, strawberries and pastries from the Mega which is just a few minutes away. It also has a great location. Its a straight run from the airport, and nearby everything you'll need, from beaches to provisions. San Jose del Cabo is centrally located between everything you'd want to do and see here. San Jose is a more laid back Mexican pueblo with a traditional town square and avenue with great restaurants, and the perfect place to return to after a day taking in all that Cabo has to offer. From San Jose its a quick hop to the scene in Cabo san Lucas, and to all of the beaches in between. In the other direction is the fast developing East Cape and adventure into the desert and untouched beaches of the East Cape. Heading north there are great day or overnight sidetrips through the desert and mountains along the Pacific (and great surfing)to Todos Santos on the west coast, and to La Paz on the east coast and Sea of Cortez. And when you get back, there's nothing like a dip in the pool and a cool drink! We highly recommend 'Cabo Casa’, it’s really a find.
