Its hull design was put to paper to suit the needs of an early 20th century river barge. Classic lines, a mast, teak wood steering cabin the works. The interior was designed to satisfy our personal taste for a clean, modern almost minimalistic design. Uncommonly spacious and light, finished with fine materials this houseboat is truly a one of a kind. Hats off to the architect(Maurice Van Bakel).
The boat is located in one of the more quaint districts of 17th Century Amsterdam which is known as the "Jordaan". An abundance of restaurants one for each taste. Further more you'll find an eclectic collection of boutiques and shops in the direct neighborhood. Old market squares, and beautiful old churches. The canals are lined with 17th century warehouses and merchant homes which now serve as comfortable apartments.
The Jordaan is conveniently located. The trainstation is only a short 10 minutes walk from the Prins&Brouwer. The Rijks museum is about 20 minutes away as is the Stedelijk museum and the Van Gogh museum. Closer to the Jordaan you'll find the Anne Frank House, and the Old Wester-Church on the Prinsengracht.
While sitting upstairs in the den or outside in the sun you will be entertained by a great variety of little boats that pass by as well as being able to enjoy the 17th century surroundings.
