  We stayed in the 3rd floor apartment for 2 nights/3 days the end of August last year. We are a family of 6, the youngest being 19. I have been meaning to leave comments since then and am finally just doing it...this apartment is in the best location, just a short walk from the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain and within easy walking of so many other great sights in Rome...We walked to the Villa Borghese, Colliseum, Forum, Spanish Steps, Vatican easily, all from here (don't mind the spelling and yes it was a packed 3 days!). Ermanno was a great help and we took him up on several of his suggestions for eating and coffee and were not disappointed. We rented cars in Rome to take to Tuscany for the second leg of our trip and Ermanno helped us with taxing to the rental agency and led us out of the city to the highway on his scooter...I don't think we would have made it without him, in fact I'm positive of it!! So for that I thank you Ermanno...I would highly recommend this apartment as a rental even though the comments of others regarding the stairs and size are true. We did not plan to stay in our room much and were so tired when we got back that we were asleep before our heads hit the pillow. The apartment was clean, quiet, safe and a great location and that's about all you can ask. I have spent the time since we have been home trying to think of a way to go back!!! And I would definitely rent this place again...

  We stayed in the third floor apartment for 4 days in September. The house is on a little side street 2 blocks from the Pantheon and 2 blocks from the Largo Argentina bus and tram hub, so it is very convenient. The street is mostly quiet, except on the Saturday night when the late night revelers used it to park their motorbikes and caused quite a racket till 2 or 3 in hte morning. The apartment itself is simple but clean. It is not luxurious but adequate. Note that the pictures in the VRBO website are actually composites of 2 apartments, so looks better than reality. The biggest complaint was that the WIFI didn't work the whole time during our stay. Ermmano, the owner, kept promising solutions that never happened. Besides that, note that there is no elevator to go up to the third floor. On the plus side, there is a little Carrefour Express supermarket within a block and plenty of restaurants all around. Staying here gives you the flexibility to visit the churches (Pantheon, San Luigi, etc.) early in the morning without the crowd.

  My wife, three daughters (ages 6, 10, 12) spent three nights here in September 2012 and had a great time. The photos generally do the apartment justice and the other reviewers hit all of the high points. To summarize our thoughts: Pros: 1) Location is fantastic. The local neighborhood is fantastic, safe, fun and walkable to most of what we wanted to see. 2) Ermanno (the owner) is very friendly and helpful - he returned all emails quickly and provided us with many tips on where to eat, shop, visit, etc 3) compared to hotel rooms, the apartment and the bedrooms are a good size 4) no unexpected costs - internet, utilities, cleaning were included in the price - which is not always the case cons 1) 3rd floor walk-up with fairly steep steps (offset a bit as Ermanno cheerfully carried our heaviest and largest pieces of luggage up the steps when we arrived) 2) kitchen was on the small side - fine for cooking small quick meals but a little tough to cook a full dinner for a 5 person family 3) you need to walk through one bedroom to get to the master (and you need to walk through the master bedroom to get to the only bathroom with a bath/shower). Fine for our family but would have been awkward with another couple. 4) located in a restricted driving area - so you can't have a rental car (which is not something you should have anyway in Rome - nor is it needed with this location). Considering that we wanted to spend our trip out experiencing Rome and not hanging in the apartment, the location made this apartment a winner. The cons were relatively minor for us as we were all young enough to navigate the steps easily and the stacked bedrooms were not a problem since we were a family. As such, we would certainly recommend this apartment and would love to stay there again.

  My family (5 of us, ages 8 and up) stayed in June 2012 and we were very pleased with the cozy apartment on a quiet and centrally located street- we would definitely stay there again. We traveled light and walked from the train station – a bit ambitious with suitcases (we rode the bus back – also an adventure but better than walking). Ermanno was absolutely the best – most accommodating, very friendly and extremely helpful – offering good suggestions to eat (we liked Monte Carlo’s for pizza) and the best gelato. The nearest grocery was just 1 min away. We loved Roma and there was so much to do. The apartment came with all the basics – coffee and pot, A/C, wifi, etc. The only point to be aware of is the abundance of stairs to the top floor. We were thankful for the washing machine (note across Europe they were all small for a family of 5 and no dryers – be sure to plan for air-drying). We look forward to staying at this apartment again when we go back to Roma!

  this apartment has the most perfect location. just meters from pantheon! the apartment is well equipped, washing machine, dishwasher, kitchen, 1 bath room, 1 extra toilet etc. the apartment is clean and aircondition is working and there is space enough for everybody! the landlord is fantastic, a deal is a deal! just one thing - rent it!!! we will come back!

  My wife and I traveled to Rome with our kids (16 and 10 years old). It was our first time in Rome. We loved to stay in this apartment primarily because of its location: we walked almost everywhere we needed. The only place we took a bus to was Vatican. All the rest of the main Rome attractions were at the walking distance. We barely used public transportation. The location made all the difference. The apartment was exactly as described: charming and comfortable. Four of us fit into it nicely. It’s quite clean, modern enough (taking into account that it’s in the 16th century house). Air conditioning in the apartment made is a great escape from an afternoon heat. A few grocery stores are nearby. We cooked a few times and ate in the apartment. Restaurants, bars, coffee and gelato shops are within minutes from the apartment. Nevertheless the street is quiet, area is safe... The owner - Ermanno - was very friendly, helpful, approachable, and responsive. We communicated with him over the mobile phone, got his advices and necessary assistance when needed. We’ll definitely check this apartment for our next visit to Rome... ?olte grazie, Ermanno !..

  My husband, myself, and our 17 year-old son just returned from 6 days in Ermanno's rental apartment, and it met our needs perfectly. It is in the absolute center of Rome, the most gorgeous historic area, and is wonderfully convenient to everything. We took a few cabs, and a few buses, but otherwise walked absolutely everywhere, and until late at night. The apartment was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen and bath(s) reasonably well equipped, the rooms quite spacious, and the owner's restaurant suggestions were greatly appreciated. We did not use the TV, but the wifi connection was great. Ermanno is an extremely attentive host. Our only regret was not being able to use the glorious roof garden for aperitifs--it was too cold! I would not hesitate to recommend this rental property to friends, and would happily return myself!

  We stayed in April of 2011. Truly enjoyed our stay there. We had 6, so it was a little tight, perfect for 4 or 5. The best thing about this flat is the location. About a block from the Pantheon, yet close enough to the Colliseum, the Vatican, the Spanish steps and everything in between. If you wanted mass transit, only 2 blocks from bus or taxi. We will stay here again next time we are in Rome!!

  We traveled in a group of 5 to Rome, and this place was perfect for us! One queen sized bed and 3 twins. Washing machine in the apartment, great bathroom facilities! All very clean. Mr. Fifi was wonderful to work with, very accomodating! Carried our bags all the way up to the top floor - whew! The location is perfect - we walked to the Pantheon, Trevi Foundation, Spanish Steps, Coleseum/Roman Forum, even the Vatican, with no problems. Tons of restaurants and cafes nearby. It was also in a more residential area, nice quiet and safe side street. If we come back to Rome, we will definately stay at this apartment again.
