Our vacation home is centrally located in Salem, Oregon, in the foothills of the Willamette Valley. It sits on a knoll, 400 feet above the valley floor, with commanding views of the Willamette Valley, the coastal range, and amazing sunsets. The property shares a 6 acre piece of property with 1 other family, who are frequently on vacation themselves. The landscaping around the house is beautifully maintained and sports 6000 sq. ft. of lawn. You will have access to the Swimming pool/spa area which has its own dressing/changing room, shower, 50" plasma TV, and Sound system. The pool/spa area is snuggled and chisled into the hillside, surrounded by a towering privacy wall of Arboe Vitae. The pool is HEATED ONLY DURING JUNE-SEPTEMBER. (POOL CAN BE HEATED @ ANYTIME [WEEK MINIMUM], HOWEVER, FOR ADDITIONAL FEE. THE SPA IS HEATED YEAR ROUND. The spa area is covered and has outdoor heaters to keep off the weather, and add warmth to those beautiful nights.
The Central location refers to its relative position to enjoy the best that Oregon, and the Pacific northwest has to offer. 45 miles from Portland, Oregon (biggest city in Oregon); 40 Miles to the coast of the Pacific Ocean, 50 miles to the Mountains--hiking, and camping in the summer time, winter activities in the.....well....winter time.
The house is nestled within easy reach of dozens of wineries. The closest is Eola Hills, approx 2.5 miles away. From Airlie to Zenith, access is easy from our location.
We are 1 mile from the Willamette river, and water activities. 1 mile from the valley's oldest live theatre (The Pentacle theater). The CAPITAL BUILDING is 6 miles from the house.
There are many fine restaurants showcasing foods, from Italy, France, Thailand, Mexico, India, China, Japan, Greek, not to mention a whole host of Pacific Northwest cuisine. Across the street, is a local farmers market and restaurant; the restaurant utilizes locally grown food, and has the best onion rings you will ever taste! Some of the best beer in the world is brewed right here in Oregon, and Salem boasts 3 micro breweries where you can experience the freshest beers you will ever taste (outside of Bavaria).
If you are a golfer, there is a mature (fairways lined with 100+ year old evergreens) 18 hole golf course 2 miles away (Oak Knoll Golf Club). The golf course has its own restaurant, and bar. Private lessons are also available. A limited selection of right and left-handed golf clubs are available for rentets to use.
So, whether you are vacationing in the summer or winter, or for a few days or week we guarantee you will enjoy your time in our home away from home.
