We had a wonderful vacation at your home in Carmel Valley. The house is lovely and the views are breathtaking. The property is very clean and well maintained. Just a couple of miles to Carmel Valley village and an easy drive to Monterey and Carmel by the Sea. The owners, Mike and Cindy, are very helpful and nice. There are several good restaurants in the village. We ate out for lunch, visited the wineries and vineyards in the afternoon and then cooked out on the wonderful large deck every evening. There is a gas grill and plenty of seating to enjoy a bottle of wine from the vineyard ( we did) and a good meal . We intend to return and would highly recommend this property. You do need to be comfortable driving on fairly steep, windy roads though! We had no problem and the climb is worth it for the views.

We are still in withdrawal from a fantastic two months in Cindy and Mike's home. Great views, outstanding home with everything you could need. We can't say enough good things about the stay. the owners were available for questions and help anytime we needed it. My wife and two dogs were there much of time by themselves and it meant a lot to me knowing she could call Cindy or Mike. This was the best summer ever--a secluded spot just minutes to the Village and the park for the dogs. Never more than 20 mins or so to Carmel. Perfect--just perfect.

We agree with comments from all previous reviews...this is a wonderful place to stay. The amenities, excellent furnishings and great views allowed our family to rest, relax and spend quality time together. Cindy was helpful from the first call and ensured that we had a perfect stay. We will certainly be back again.

My wife and I were looking for a quality place to stay for the Christmas holiday this year and this place met our needs exactly. It was modern, sunny, quiet, luxurious, and had a Xmas tree to boot. The view from the deck is amazing. We took advantage of the member passes for the Monterey Bay Aquarium and bypassed the lines (excellent). Our dinners in the village at Cafe Rustica and another at Sardine Factory in Monterey were both top notch. We stayed in one night and watched a movie on the huge flat screen TV in the living room. The house has all of the necessities for cooking meals at home as well. Our experience was a 10.

We had a multi-generational family of 5 spend a perfect weekend at this beautiful property. We went wine-tasting, shopping in Carmel, ate at 2 fabulous restaurants in Carmel Valley, and thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the home and enjoying the views from the deck. The views are indeed amazing. We had hoped to go horseback riding very close by, but were rained out. This house was built with multiple master bedrooms and was so comfortable for everyone. What a treat!
Owner response:We love meeting families and just let us know if there's a special request!

We spent a wonderful weekend with our daughter, son-in-law, two grandchildren and their dog Riley. Mike and Cindy were very welcoming and helpful. The home was immaculately clean and everything you would want or need was available. The view from every window was great and we all appreciated all the special touches that went into this lovely home. It truly is nicer than the photos show and so private and peaceful. What a wonderful job Mike and Cindy have done in offering such a special VRBO rental!
Owner response:We look forward to seeing our guests return.

Mike and Cindy should be the role model of what owners should be of a vocation rental property. I was at their property with few of my good friends during a random October weekend. The weather wasn't so friendly, but this house make our stay at Carmel Valley worthwhile. This home has so much attention to the details that make a vacation truly a vacation! The kitchen is equipped to the max, complete with cookware, every spice you can imagine, and top of the line appliances (large and small). It sits right on the summit with spectacular views of the Carmel Valley from every angle. The beds are so comfy and clean. Her specific directions on how to get to the property were very much appreciated. It's convenient located with grocery stores on the way home. A gated private entrance to ensure the tranquility and privacy we all need out of our busy schedules. At night, we kick back enjoyed the sound of rain drops on the balcony. Some of us were watching DVD on the huge TV , some were relaxing on the massage chair, and some were just reading a book on the sofa. But we all had the same thing in mind: A toast to the Cindy and Mike who provide us this beautiful home that is meticulously maintained and cared for !
Owner response:We certainly try to make sure everyone has all that they need! Please always ask if there' s anything we can do to make your stay special such as a birthday, anniversary, etc. It is always a pleasure!

We (6 adults) had a wonderful stay at Cindy and Mike's beautiful home. The immaculate house looks even better than the photos indicate. The house is situated at the end of the road with wide open views so it is very quiet and private. The outdoor living spaces were beautiful and the beds and linens were so comfortable. There was every comfort of home including a wonderful massage chair that everyone wanted. Our hosts were so easy going and extremely helpful. It is so true that the weather in Carmel Valley is sunnier and warmer than Carmel by the Sea. This was the best VRBO home that I've stayed at.
Owner response:We are always pleased when guests are happy!

There is so much to love and admire about this home, not the least of which being its fabulous owners, Mike and Cindy. The property is absolutely stunning - it was such a pleasure to wake up, take a cup of coffee out to the massive deck, and watch the fog roll through Carmel Valley. Looking up at the night sky from the home's position on the side of the mountain was unspeakably breathtaking. The home's interior is charming to say the least. One cannot help but appreciate the love and care that so clearly pervades the entire home, down to the most minute of details. We were at all times consummately comfortable, whether we were relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine, unwinding in the massage chair, or sleeping soundly in one of the luxurious beds. I could not have asked for a better location - perched on the sun-drenched side of the valley in perfect peace and quiet, only a short drive into town, and worry-free parking in their ample driveway. To Mike and Cindy - I can't thank you enough for such a one-of-a-kind stay. Thanks so much for all your hospitality and for making our trip to Carmel Valley that much more special.
Owner response:We were a bit perplexed when we learned we would have an fabulous designer staying in our home! One worries that our ecclectic taste will match up to a guest's expectations. You were truly delightful guests and we look forward to your return. Cindy and Mike

We are frequent users of VRBO and this property, by far surpasses all other properties we have stayed at over the several years. The property is clean, well maintained, and offers large bedrooms, spacious bathrooms, and open living area. Views galore from every window in the home. The deck is large enough to host a nice family gathering. The owners were very friendly and helpful and even volunteered to watch our dog while we attended a family wedding! We will be back!!!!
Owner response:The best part was getting to take care of Daisy! We look forward to meeting you all and feel blessed to have been able to meet so many wonderful people.

We can't say enough about this home and the owners. We stayed mid July for our wedding on Carmel Beach. The views are beautiful and the interior is absolutley stunning. We were completely relaxed and the home is more spacious than the photos show. The deck is perfect for outdoor dining and relaxing with a glass of wine. The beds were extra comfortable which made getting up in the morning a bit tough to do. The kitchen is more than perfect with everything you will need to create gourmet meals. The fact that the home is dog friendly was perfect for our little westie. The main thing that made us feel at home were the owners, Cindy and Mike. They are so nice and accomodating. They really made our stay extra special. The only down side of this home is that you won't want to leave!
Owner response:We are so very pleased that others enjoy our home as much as we do. We have learned not to take it for granted!

Mike and Cindy: Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home for our first family reunion. It was so wonderful to spend a few days, and nights, with our grand daughters, something we never get to do. Your home was made for special moments like this... Although, spending more time just enjoying your beautiful home together would have been time well spent. We had so much planned, we went to "see the fishies" as our grand daughter would say... and of course we had to picnic at dennis the menace park, lots of fun!! The crib was a life saver, it left more room in the car on the way home for all the new toys and games. And... a bathroom attached to every bedroom. I know it sounds silly but it actually afforded a sense of privacy for each of us. Again, something we didn't think would be so important... helped to make us feel right at home. You thought of eveything!!! The open floor plan, let us spend time together in the kitchen while others hung out in the living room and on the heated deck, with the large french doors open to the living room, it was perfect!! We all enjoy cooking, so lots of secret recipes went through your fully equipped and family friendly kitchen... and I bet we're not the firsts... shhhhhh.. What can we say about the deck,... When most people think of a view... and I have to admit, we were among them, they dream of a view of the mountains, or an unobstructed view of the ocean... Well, neither compare with the time my family and I spent together gazing up at the stars AND the milky way, on the heated deck... priceless!! Isn't it funny how something that costs nothing can be some of your favorite memories together. It makes us aware how important and presious just being together really is. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us the opportunity to spend such precious moments in your "most excellent" home!
Owner response:The house has certainly seen a lot of lovely family get togethers, including my own. It is wonderful to have had you all as guests!

I finally found the time to write a review but that doesn’t mean I haven’t raved about our stay since our departure a few weeks ago. It’s so true that the beautiful photos don’t show how really lovely it is. You can easily get comfortable as everything you need, besides food, is already there. Cindy is a fabulous hostess – she could tell us where to dine, buy groceries, parks for play and really anything else you would need/want to know. Their dogs are so lovable – it was a treat for our children to meet them and have the opportunity to leave carrots for the wild bunnies to munch in the evening at the end of the driveway. There is a panoramic view of the valley – we captured some amazing photos of sunsets and a surreal photo above the morning fog. There is an equestrian center you can see from the deck but Holman Ranch (which you drive by on the way – just minutes from the house) is the place to take your kids for a fun horseback ride adventure. I am so grateful we couldn’t find a home near the beach in our price ranch and stumbled upon Cindy and Mike’s Valley Oasis. We have stayed at other VRBO homes but this is the only one we can’t wait to get back to! Thank-you for everything!!!
Owner response:I'm so happy you opted for sun vs. fog! It was our pleasure to meet you all--Beau and Lily always love little girl hugs!

We love to spend our vacations together with our two sons and both daughters (in law) and Ginger too (a pet dog - Labradoodle) when possible. We usually like to stay in vacation homes that are either on the beach or a short hike away and that is also dog friendly. This year we wanted to stay on the coast of Carmel, known for being dog friendly, however, with the timing of the PGA tournament it got a bit pricey on the coast so we looked for a place a bit more inland. We were looking for a place with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and in a price range we could work with and then we found it... our home away from home. I am not much of a writer and I don’t think I can say it any more eloquently all the positive, true to fact things that were said in previous reviews about Cindy and Mike and their beautiful house in Carmel Valley, CA. Now, after having vacationed there for more than a week, one thing I will add is that the pictures shown of the house are nice and were partly to do with my choices, however, in my humble opinion and as pictures rarely do… they don’t do justice to the house and the views and fail to show how comfortable and homey all the rooms truly are. We love to cook for the kids and it doesn't show in the picture but there was everything we needed to cook with and when I did need a certain appliance or kitchen gadget Cindy and Mike quickly made available what I needed. How cool is that!? Groceries we were able to buy in the village nearby or if not there, just a few more miles is Safeway market. How lucky we were to find available this lovely vacation home away from home. Thank you Cindy and Mike for going way beyond my expectations.
Owner response:It is not every guest who brings us delicious desserts. I found that if I cleaned the dish that desserts were given to me in and gave it back, it would miraculously get refilled! We can't wait for you all to return--what a pleasure to meet all of our wonderful guests! Cindy and Mike

This gorgeous home in Carmel Valley is a dream come true. We are now spoiled rotten! The view is beautiful, the house immaculate, the setting perfect, and the owners are helpful, generous, and kind. How often do you get to stay in a pristine, serene, comfortable yet elegant setting with privacy galore! And, what a bargain! The scenery is unparalleled. Staying on the side of a hill with windows in every conceivable place was an outstanding new experience for us. We used this for our home base for trips to Point Lobos, Carmel by the Sea, and Monterey as it is the perfect place for people wanting to see the California Coast without staying in the hectic city. We had a surprisingly beautiful respite from our common life and were blessed beyond measure. Thanks to Cindy and Mike for your hospitality and for sharing your home with us.
Owner response:Truly, our guests have been very special blessings. We look forward to our guests returning for another visit. There's always something new!

This is the perfect getaway in Carmel Valley.....the proverbial slice of heaven. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed every aspect of this beautiful home. The views are incredible and there is nothing better than relaxing on the deck with a cup of coffee or a few glasses of the local Pinot in the afternoon. Cindy is great to work with and does everything she can to make you feel right at home. The location is ideal and close to all that Carmel Valley has to offer. Far exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be more pleased with our choice. We'll be back and really looking forward to it!

The photos are great but don't do justice to this beautiful home. The only problem is that you really don't want to have to leave it to go do what you came to do!! The view is breathtaking, and sitting on the deck in the morning with coffee (provided), was so peaceful. The home has all the creature comforts, including a high end, fully equipped kitchen, jacuzzi bath, and computer/internet right there in the kitchen area. The living room has views for days from every direction, and the entry is on the same level as two of the 3 bedrooms (the HUGE master suite, with wide screen TV and jacuzzi tub etc, and a second) so luggage doesn't have to be carried downstairs. There is another master bedroom down with views onto the deck and beyond . The layout allows great privacy for sharing, and don't skip the high-end massage chair in the living room! We were all joking at our event that we needed to get home "to the chair"! Couldn't have been more pleasant, and Cindy is wonderful to work with! I give it 6 out of 5 stars - surpassed my expectations. THANK YOU!
Owner response:We are always pleased when guests are pleasantly surprised. This group of adults was amazing! They respected our house, had cool cars AND, they all were kind to our Yellow Labs; especially when one tried to jump in a beautiful BMW to say hello! The best part would be to have them all visit again! It's different to visit when one doesn't have a specific agenda. Come back and enjoy all of the ammenities of Carmel Valley.

Lots of things to look at, books to read and wireless. Cindy and Mike are gracious hosts and we got our dog fix by visiting with their adorable golden labs.

Mike and Cindy are simply wonderful hosts and genuinely thoughtful, considerate, and caring people. This was the perfect getaway for our family and they made it incredibly special. The home is not nearly done justice by the photographs . . . it is FAR more breathtaking and beautiful in person. It is an immaculately appointed home with three bedrooms and three baths. Each bedroom is perfect for a couple as there is an adjoining bath for each. The views are amazing from every location in this home. There is a huge deck with lounge chairs, a bar, a barbeque, and comfortable seating. It is the perfect deck to have coffee in the morning and a glass of wine to watch the sunset in the evening. The kitchen is wonderful and fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes and everything you can imagine to make a gourmet meal. There is no way for me to sufficiently describe my appreciation or satisfaction with Mike and Cindy's home other than to say it is awesome, breathtaking, and I am looking forward to my next visit.

We rented this truly awesome house for the weekend with some friends and our two dogs. The pictures do not do it justice! Cindy was there to great us as we arrived and gave us a tour of the house. Beautifully decorated, spacious and very comfortable. The large deck is a great place to relax with some wine and appetizers and watch the sun set - truly stunning views. It was close to Carmel beach - which is a must if you have dogs - actually, even if you don't have dogs you should go! Cindy can recommend some wonderful restaurants or activities in the area and was very easy to deal with. She even mailed back a game CD that my son did not even realize that he had left! Absolutely the best - we will definitely be coming back!
Owner response:We love having wonderful guests who love to explore our beautiful area. There's so much to do it's always hard to recommend activities.

My significant other and I were looking for a base to show her mother the wonders of the central California Coast when we discovered Cindy and Mike's place on VRBO. From that point forward we had the best guesting service one can imagine including the follow up mailing of forgotten items. It was a pleasure from start to finish dealing with Cindy and Mike who attended to every detail imaginable including meeting us upon arrival, easing us through a couple of crises (dog medical issues, auto accident) as well as providing us with excellent information about places to dine [there are a ton of great restaurants in the area], places to visit/sight-see [state parks, Carmel beach which allows dogs, etc.], and the local history [Cindy and Mike are lifetime residents so they know the area!]. Oh, yes, and the facilities were excellent - beautiful quarters, lovely decks, more than amply provisioned kitchen/bar, excellent amenities, and even thoughtful reading laid carefully about for the curious visitor ("Carmel Cottages" for example). The scenery was spectacular, the location excellent for side trips to Monterey, Big Sur and Elkhorn Slough, and it was very restful and idyllic. We highly recommend a stay for serious travelers and if you have a dog or two, it is even better!
Owner response:It is always our pleasure to have such delightful guests. We can't wait for you to come back and hopefully no dog issues or car accidents! All the best, Cindy

This is a great property with Tuscan overtones and even views that reminded us of Tuscany. Kitchen is well equipped and it as well as the rest of the house was spotless and extremely welcoming. It took us about 30 seconds to feel right at home. And what could be better that coffee on the huge deck? Somehow Cindy managed to provide warm sunny weather although we are in the middle of winter. We have rented places in many locations, including Tuscany, and this was tops. Did I mention the chocolate cake waiting for our wives? It was their birthday!

Just came back from a New Year weekend in this stunning Tuscan-style villa! We were greeted by the owners and a 7-foot tall beautifully-decorated Christmas Tree! Cindy and Mike took time to show us around, gave us great overview of the area and provided with excellent recommendations of activities and restaurants. The house is spacious, immaculately clean, tastefully decorated (VRBO pictures do not do justice to this place, it is even better in reality!) and located on top of the hill in a quiet cul-de-sac. Despite all privacy and seclusion, you are minutes away from all the attractions, dining and shopping offered by Monterrey and Carmel-by-the-Sea. We prepared breakfast in a state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen, and then enjoyed our morning coffee on a sunny deck with panoramic views of Carmel Valley; strolled along the river, explored biking trails in the Valley, visited equestrian center, went to Monterrey Bay Aquarium, admire sunset on a famous white-sand beach and dined in gourmet restaurants in Carmel Village. Cindy made us feel so much at home that it was difficult to leave. We are already making plans to come back!

We highly recommend this delightful home and the hosts/owners, Cindy and Mike. Cindy and Mike were very responsive to our needs and a pleasure to meet. The home is beautifully done with many lovely custom features. Amenities are many with excellent appliances and comfortable beds. Just a couple of the special 'extras' were a unique chess set and a massage chair that really gets into those sore muscles. There are plenty of windows and wonderful outdoor spots to sit and enjoy the views that insist you stop and relax with the beauty. Our two French bulldogs loved their walks. And our 16 month old grandson slept soundly at night in a comfy bed.
