Our 5,000 square foot house sits on 1.3 acres and is situated on tranquil Lake Columbine and has been outfitted to be the ultimate vacation lodge. Only 1 mile from Durango Mountain Resort (24 miles north of Durango), the "Luxury Lake Front House" offers privacy and seclusion and feels worlds away.
No detail was left untouched as the house has open living space with 180 degree native rock wood burning fireplace, gourmet kitchen with high end stainless steel appliances including a gas JennAir double stove with indoor grill, Subzero refrigerator and an island with seating (4) and a food prep area. It features ample wrap around deck space along with an built in outdoor hot tub and immediately adjacent to that a sauna. It is impeccably decorated with the utmost attention to detail in mountain southwestern style including exposed rustic post and beam, native rock, pine log beds, native American tapestries and rugs, rustic furnishings and fixtures and natural earth tone finishes.
The house boasts comfort and convenience with in-floor radiant heating, heated garage and spacious mud room with ski closets. And, you can't believe how nice it is to step right into the hot sauna after exiting your outdoor private hot tub.
The master suite is on a separate floor and features a Kiva gas fireplace, flatscreen TV, private deck, great views and a huge granite tiled spa bathroom with separate jacuzzi tub and shower.
The house sleeps 13 and is perfect for multiple families. There are 2 complete separate living areas, a conservatory, dining room seating 8, and cozy breakfast nook. Each bedroom includes its own full bathroom. The guest bedrooms are cleverly placed in 2 separate areas of the house. The loft/observatory does not have its own bathroom. The house has wireless internet and free national long distance.
