Dreaming about returning to the Boathouse Cottage!

Gorgeous home that looks like it is straight out of a catalog. The property is just as beautiful. We visited with small children in mid-March. It was a rainy & chilly, but we didn't mind. We still took advantage of the provided paddle boat and canoe, as well as enjoying the stocked fire pit and great bird watching. The owners have seriously stocked this cottage for extreme comfort and ease. No detail was overlooked. It was a very peaceful getaway, and we can't wait to return.

Very, VERY nice Cottage

Guest: The Knutsons (Frisco, TX)
Date of Stay: 08/13/10 Review Submitted: 08/17/10

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the Boathouse Cottage. The amenities are as nice as described, if not better. The balconies are fantastic places to start and end a nice day on the lake. The owners are very nice, engaging personalities who are readily available but mostly invisible. Swimming and fishing from the dock are both fantastic as is watching the plentiful wildlife. We enjoyed spending quality family time at the Boathouse cottage will be back as soon as we can plan the next trip!

Wonderful Family Vacation

Guest: Peg (Lincoln, Ne)
Date of Stay: 07/10/10 Review Submitted: 07/23/10

My family and I had a wonderful vacation so we would recommend this place. The cottage we stayed in had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and a loft with 3 beds, which was perfect for the kids. We had ample room. There were spa-like touches in the bathrooms. The decoration of the cottage was very cute in a boat and waterfront theme. We loved the balconies with the great view to have coffee in the morning. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We even had our linens changed in the middle of the week. We met another family there with kids close to the same age as our grandchildren and that was great for them to play in water. The complimentary paddle boat, canoe and floaters were enjoyed by all. Fishing wasn't great but it was the middle of a very HOT July so that is to be expected. If you go, try Catfish John's on US59. We shared a meal with the other family there and it was really good and reasonably priced. We loved watching the ducks, birds and saw multiple deer and their babies. We couldn't have asked for anything more other than cooler weather.

Great Family Vacation

Guest: Cathy (Wichita, KS)
Date of Stay: 06/28/10 Review Submitted: 07/01/10

We had a great time! Three generations of our family stayed here. The house has everything a family needs to spend quality time together having fun on vacation, yet feeling at home. Swimming, boating, fishing in the lake, a fire pit for making s'mores, two decks to sit lazily on, and several places to play games, eat or whatever. We are already planning to go back next year. The owners are especially cordial and friendly, and provided everything we could think of to make our vacation wonderful.

WOW! This place is awesome. Very secluded and quiet- just the way I like it. The cottage has everything you might need, and then some. All you'll need to bring: clothes and groceries. I loved the boat slip/dock too. Just walk down, get in your boat and go! On days that were too windy to go out on the boat, we just fished off the dock! I had some family stay with me for a few days. We enjoyed cooking both outside and inside. We fished and boated almost every day for the whole week, exploring the lake. The owners, Bob & Linda are friendly and informative. Thanks for the memories!
