I booked this house for myself and 5 good friends for a girls weekend. The house was perfect for us. Plenty of seating outside to enjoy the view. The upstairs living area was perfect for watching movies. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you might need. The bedding was different than listed. There were 2 queen beds, 1 full bed and 2 twin beds (1 bed and 1 trundle). The twin beds are in a loft area accessed by a very steep ladder. We traveled to Madison for 1 day, it was about 1 hour way. We would rent this house again.

We have traveled all over the United States and stayed at many vacation rentals, and this by far was our best experience to date. We were in Louisville celebrating our daughters 19th birthday. This vacation home was very clean, comfortable and BEAUTIFUL. The view of the river from the back decks is awesome. This is a home away from home. We enjoyed watching the barges go up and down the river each day. To top it all off Georgetta, the owner was the perfect hostess. She went out of her way to make us feel right at home. There had been a storm earlier that day and the power was out temporarily; Georgetta purchased candles just in case the power was not restored. We will definately be returning to this property very soon. I highly recommend this property for your next southern getaway, you will not be disappointed. Georgetta, you are the best......Looking forward to seeing you again real soon.......I rate this rental TEN stars!

This home is the most wonderful place to get away. It was my mom's 57th birthday and she was born in Louisville, KY. My wife, sisters and I wanted to make it a special weekend for her. I came up with the idea to take her to see her mom, sister, brother and all the family members. I began looking for a place for me, my wife, my son, my Korean foreign exchange student, my 2 sisters and their boyfriends and my grandma. THIS WAS THE PLACE! We were so excited to walk into the most cozy home and enjoy a relaxing weekend. We had all the extended family come to "our" home for the day to celebrate my mom and we could not have been more spread out and relaxed as we were. We brought the tables from outside in and enjoyed a huge family lunch of 22 people. It was a huge blessing and this home is so gorgeous. Everything is modern and clean and it would be the perfect place for anyone to visit for the weekend, or a week long time. Not to mention the area it is located is amazing. The owner, Georgette is SO wonderful to work with and very willing to meet any need that we had. I HIGHLY, without reservation recommend this home! Thank you for such an amazing weekend and for blessing my family with such wonderful accomodations!

This was our 2nd time staying at the River Front Hideaway. Once in the winter and this time in August. Both times, the experience was great! I was worried that the property may not be available because of flooding that occurred in April 2011. But, to my delight, the house had been beautifully remodeled! It was a great retreat and we are looking forward to our visit next year!

This home was perfect for our 3 family vacation. (5 adults, 9 kids) We all slept very comfortable and enjoyed the peace & quite in the early mornings and late evenings. Very clean and stocked w/any thing you may have left behind at home. The petting zoo is a short drive up the road and all the kids loved it. Don't forget to take along treats for the animals. I also suggest a trip to Schimpff's Confectionery in Jeffersonville, Indiana. (about a 20 minute drive) Can't leave out Mya, the neighborhood dog, who could play fetch for hours on end. She also kept the kiddos busy.

What a marvelous place! Georgetta is a fabulous person and land-owner. The incredible hard work that she performed (because of the May flood) in order to get our family into the house for our June 4, 2011 wedding was amazing. We (the Brides family) are from St. Louis and the groom is from Tennessee. When they decided to get married in Louisville, I started looking for a house that we could rent for the week. From the beginning Georgetta was accomodating. Her home on the Ohio River is in a perfect spot, far enough away from the city to feel the peace and close enough to get to the wedding on time! This is a very clean home and decorated in such a wonderful way...you really do feel like you are home. We had a bridesmaid event on Thursday evening before the wedding and then on Sunday morning after the wedding we had a brunch for those who could linger before heading back to their homes cross country. It is a wonderful place and "Peace Like A River" will definetley fill your soul! We plan to go back for perhaps a Care Group Couples Retreat...

The hostess, Georgetta, will tailor her house to your every need. My wife and I have nine children and it was a perfect place to rest while in KY for family holidays. There is plenty of room for everyone, a park right across the street for the kids to play in, a beautiful dock by the river and a deck overlooking everything. Its a perfect place for a getaway, a house you will surely want to visit time and time again.

My family of five travelled from Nevada to Louisville to attend the funeral services of my brother. It was a sorrowful time, yet River Front Hideaway provided a place of refuge, relaxation and rest during this sad time. Other family members journeyed from California, Ohio and Tennesse for the services. Although just my immediate family stayed in the house, there was plenty of room for the 21 who attended the family fellowship following the services. The kitchen is fully equipped! The house is clean, comfortable and inviting. The soothing sounds of the river draw you outside to either the porch or the upstairs deck. Georgetta, thank you for opening your beautiful home and allowing us to share the beauty! Until we meet again,

8 adults stayed at the property the first weekend of Nov. '10 for the Breeders' Cup and 7 of us wanted our own beds...not a problem. Plenty of beds and comfortable couches. The renter was very kind and attentive to our needs. If you are looking for a great place with a wonderful view of the Ohio River...this is the place. The first trip in is a bit tricky but after that very easy...30 minutes to downtown or Churchill Downs.

Our second visit to the River Front Hideaway was even more enjoyable then our first. The second bathroom renovation is beautiful and sitting on the back porch on a beautiful fall day is indescribable. We want to return to enjoy each season. Thank you Georgetta!!

7 adults and 2 children stayed very comfortably at the River Hideaway for Thanksgiving and my sister's wedding at nearby Gingerwoods. We hosted the rehearsal dinner (30 plus people) using the first floor only. The flow and seating more than accomodated the people. Spring, summer and fall weddings here would give you unlimited possibilities because of the large patio and deck space. The house is located in a quiet beautiful setting only 5 minutes from good restaurants and shopping. Adults and children of all ages will enjoy staying at the Georgetta's wonderfully accomodating river hideaway house.

We used this house as a quiet retreat for our family during my husband's Ironman Triathlon in Louisville. It was a very nice alternative to staying in a hotel. It was a restful place and our family enjoyed the riverfront views. We were able to make meals, relax on the porch, and fall asleep to the sounds of the river (a good mix for an athlete before the race). We would recommend it to anyone planning to race Ironman Louisville next year (there's a 15-20 minute travel to the transition zone and the house is only a few miles off the bike route on hwy 42). Our only negative comments would be the quality of the beds. The pull out beds were not as comfortable as some of guests would have liked. Also, there are only 3 bedrooms and a loft so the house really would not sleep more than 6 adults and 2 children unless people are ok with sleeping in the living room on the couch/pull out.
Owner response: After the suggestion was made ,we added one more quality queen bed in the second bedroom upstairs and took the sofa pull up bed as extra in the living room. The house has 2 large living rooms and people gather more downstairs, up living room can be use as a sleeping aria. This way house has 3 sleeping rooms, loaft and upstairs large living room for night accomodations. House can sleep 10 confortable (has 3 plus) Georgetta

We really enjoyed our stay. Homeowners came to show us around the house - very friendly. Loved the river view and location of home. {easy to get to nearby places of interest} Very clean and in great condition. Loved the big screen televisions and video game systems. {kept our boys entertained when indoors at night} We enjoyed Kentucky Kingdom and their waterpark, Louisville Slugger Museum, and a side trip to Kentucky Down Under. Spent some time shopping at The Summit. We ate at Lynn's Paradise Cafe - very unusual, but fun. Loved the Krispy Kreme doughnut shop on Bardstown Road. Would love to stay at this home again!

The River Front Hideaway was an absolutely perfect place for my family to stay during their visit to Louisville to celebrate our grandmothers 90th Birthday. The home was beautiful - furnishings were upscale, luxurious and very comfortable. We had everything we needed at our fingertips - just like home! The view of the river was simply breath-taking. The owner was very friendly and easy to work with - we received excellent service. All in all it was perfect - a great value! We will certainly come again!

We spent Thanksgiving with our kids and grandkids, and had a great time. Plenty of room, fully stocked kitchen, two separate living areas, beautiful view, peaceful and quiet! We had ages ranging from 10 days to 56 years, and everyone had fun. Georgetta met us there and gave us a thorough tour, and made sure we knew how to use everything in the house, including the wonderful steam shower! We would definitely go back!

This house was beatutiful. The view was incredible as well. I enjoyed waking up to the mist on the river. The deck has the perfect spot for coffee in the morning. I also enjoyed grilling and enjoying the dock. The interior is gorgeous too. Everything is colorful and and bright. The location was perfect, being far enough away to relax but close enough to run to the store. I could not have been more pleased. I will definitely consider staying again. More than perfect!
