The rental price is remarkable! The home and view are awesome.. This was our second stay at this home and we love everything about the home, spacious, wrap porch to spend time and the lids love playing there with their babydolls, strollers and tea set. Leave the double doors we leave open. The view is beautiful. At dogwood trees are in bloom and down the hillside below us looked like snow at night. Turkeys in the yard. We left the home only once for an adventure into Chimney Rock. Even the children wanted to stay at the home and not go out. Thank you Robyn, owner, for sharing such a blessing...
Owner response:Thank you so much!! I'm soo glad you and your family had a great time! I miss being there myself. Hope you get to go again soon.

Robyn was very easy to work with and promptly responded to any and all emails and phone calls prior to renting. The property itself is just as advertised (a comfortable rustic retreat) and you really feel isolated, yet it's an easy drive to Chimney Rock & Lake Lure. I'd rent again from Robyn without hesitation.

Would recommend this home to everyone... Stayed here Friday thru Monday and truely hated to leave. The entire home is relaxing, inviting, clean, very spacious. We put the long bench from the dining table in front of the stairs (2 story) to block the two children and this worked perfect. The cabinets and bamboo floors are beautiful, baths are really upgraded, love the faucets. The wrap porch is wonderful, the kids loved playing there and we relaxed there, perfect mornings with the mountain sounds and turkeys in the yard morning and evening. The grand daughter and I always have rock collecting adventures and this was great. The road up to the house is a pretty mountain road, one side is covered with mountain laurel. Minutes from Bat Cave, Chimney Rock, and Lake Lure. My husband is in training for MS bike ride and road his bike from the home to Chimney, what a ride!! 20 min to Ashville, less than an hour to Maggie Valley, 1 1/2 to Gattlinburg (or less). The home had everything you need except your clothes and food. Robyn (owner) is so friendly seems like she is family. Can't say enough about our stay, a couple of days we never left the home because so peaceful with great mountain scenery which is why we go to the mountains several times a year. Thank you for opening this home to us....DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN. What a BLESSING...

Although the property did meet the listed description on vrbo, we were very frustrated because of communication issues. We knew there would probably be limited cell coverage in the area but we had absolutely no coverage at the house and there was no land line in the house. There was also no internet access. So to have any consistent contact of any kind we had to drive back to Lake Lure to the marina area to pick up a good cell signal. It wasn't that we wanted constant texting or calling but it would have been nice to know that if someone needed to reach us they would be able to. We have stayed in cabins in other remote areas and never had that much trouble. And traveling the mile long gravel road to go in and out was not a pleasant drive so that just added more frustration as we limited our trips to once a day. The road was fairly rough and it was not fun when you met a car coming the opposite direction. Just think this is information the owner should share with renters.
Owner response:I hate that you were disappointed. But everything you need to know is in the descriptions of the rental No there is no internet which is stated. I apologize for the phone but for the last 2 years no one has complained and it hasn't been an issue. If there were an emergency my parents are usually home. We've stayed in many mountain cabins ourselves any its common that the roads are rough especially in the winter. I can get internet service and add a phone and go back to charging $170 dollars a night. But since 90% of my booking are be backs for the last 2 years and some come once a month for 3 and 4 night stays. I don't think they would appreciate that.

We enjoyed our stay again this year over fourth of july. It was very peaceful in a beautiful remote mountain setting and the house was very comfortable. See my review from last year. We appreciate the affordability of the home. Thankyou for sharing it with us. We hope to be back next year.

We have been here several times. I've been with my husband, my daughter and grandchildren, and my sister and sister-in-laws,and we all love it. It is always very clean and well kept. I have been here in the winter, spring ,and summer, and it is always beautiful. Can't wait to come in the fall. Robyn is always so helpful and friendly. I would recommend this get away to anyone.

We had a group go to this mountain house for a retreat and had an amazing time. The house is in beautiful condition. The owners have done a superb job setting it up. Driving up the road to get to the house is scary this first time, but is totally worth it.. We went to Montreat to hike and spent time at the little town there. Great area. Stay here!

We stayed July 1-5. This home is next to the area called Bat Cave in a cove in the mountains. If you love nature as much as we do, you would love it here. We saw a family of wild turkeys in the yard a couple of early mornings, and one day driving to the home on a nearby road. We took a walk in the community this home is located and we felt we were in a national park due to the number of streams, wildflowers and plants, butterflies, etc. We had a surprise on the 4th when someone put on a firework display there in the cove and we could see several of them from the back porch, and where the fireworks left off, all the fireflies made it even more magical. Many wonderful moments were spent on the porch looking out to the mountains. There was a mountain breeze and it was amazing and the area stayed cooler than nearby Bat Cave, Chimney Rock and Lake Lure which are very close by and where we spent time as well. You have views from the windows and it is really wonderful. The home is very new and comfortable. I especially loved the lovely, spacious kitchen which had a nice selection of pots and pans and plenty of dishes and silverware. I loved the bamboo floors. My husband and daughter enjoyed many hours in the comfy recliner in the living room! The master bath and bedroom were very spacious and nicely furnished and decorated. Robyn was always friendly and helpful and responded promptly when we had a question about anything.

My husband and I stayed here for our one year anniversary weekend trip. We found it to be very nice. As it was just the two of us, we spent all our time on the main floor. Nice comfy king-sized bed and spacious bathroom. Great kitchen with dishwasher and plenty of cookware, etc. My husband especially enjoyed the comfy recliner and we were both happy to see satelitte tv (the college world series was on, and both our teams were playing!) Very convenient to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Most of all we enjoyed the peace and quiet. It was very relaxing to just sit on the porch with a glass of wine and enjoy nature. Robin was great and we would definitely stay here again.

My family and I recently returned from a long weekend trip at the Mountain Bluff home. The place was wonderful and the price was great! You get a ton of house for the price! It's very secluded in the mountains and yet only 6 miles from Chimney Rock and 20 miles from Hendersonville and Asheville. We really enjoyed our stay at "the mountain house" and can't wait to go back! Thanks so much, Robyn!!
