  Staying at the Cool View Studio was the perfect way for my husband and I to start our honeymoon. We found the place to be full of Caribbean charm. We couldn't get enough time on the patio that overlooks Falmouth Harbour. (The picture doesn't lie - the view is really that good.) It's probably one of the things we miss most now that we are back. The apartment is definitely close enough to the activity of the harbor - with a small market and a couple places to get a bite to eat down the hill - but removed enough to have some privacy. Within a 10 minute walk, you have access to several great local eateries, which gave us a great sampling for local food and helped us saved some money too. It's so convenient. Cool View Studio definitely felt like home and we were sad to leave its comforts. It's an intimate space that was perfect for us (newlyweds on our honeymoon) and could definitely be good for a small family with children that could stay up in the lofted area. We rented a car and didn't have trouble parking at all. Paola was very helpful. She was easy to get a hold of and could answer all our questions. Just a quick note, the apartment doesn't have sealed/glass windows so you can hear muffled voices from the neighbors but it does has proper screens and slated wood for enough protection from the bugs and privacy from the outside world. We did experience some little ants and such, but that's really just life on the island. We loved it here and would definitely return if we are able to adventure to Antigua again.

  The studio was the perfect size for our family (2 adults, 1 child – would also be good with 2 children) and had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully equipped and we cooked for ourselves several times during our stay. Paula was a wonderful hostess – we arrived on the island quite late at night and the fridge was already stocked with the items that we had asked her to buy. The beds were comfortable and the studio is nice and airy with louvered blinds and screens on all windows but we would still advise everyone to bring a good insect repellent. The bugs were rather bloodthirsty! The wireless Internet connection was excellent and when it at times did not work, then it was knocked out everywhere else on the island which points to the provider and not the wiring in the studio as the culprit. The view from the balcony was breathtaking! We were lucky enough to stay during the RORC Caribbean 600 Regatta and saw some very big boats at the Marina below. The Marina itself has restaurants, a pub, a snack bar and a supermarket. The beach at Pigeon Point (a 5 min. walk from the studio) is gorgeous! There is a restaurant/bar there called Bumpkins. The food is good and the staff friendly. Our 7-year old son spent many hours playing in the waves. Lovely spot for a sunset drink! There are many good restaurants nearby in all price classes featuring with all types of food. Wonderful Nelson’s Dockyard is within walking distance and definitely worth a visit. Local taxis and buses wait for fares at the Marina. Should none be waiting, it is just a quick walk from there to the end of the street where they pass by regularly on the main road. We rented a Jeep for 2 days and toured the island. We even made it up to Boggy Peak but this should only be done with a 4-wheel drive vehicle. No switchbacks here – the road goes straight up the mountain! It is worth it as the view from up there over the whole island is absolutely fantastic. The rental agents near the Marina rent cars, jeeps and quads. We definitely recommend renting a vehicle for 1-2 days and touring the island. Also nearby is Sam and Dave’s Laundry. They give good service and we found their prices fair (much less expensive than the laundromat located closest to the Marina). Antigua is a beautiful island, the people are very friendly and helpful and we hope to return one day. We fully recommend the Cool View Studio and thank Paula once again for her help, kindness and hospitality!

  Perfect for us! Great location overlooking the yachts and beauty of Falmouth Bay. Close to English Harbour & lots of restaurants. Enjoyed our morning coffee at Seabreeze. We will be back Paola. Thanks for all your ideas.

  The studio is a good size, clean and very well maintained and equipped (especially the kitchen area). Sitting out on the balcony looking at the harbour and the yachts a great chill. Very close to Antigua Yacht Club, which has a grocery store as well as cafes and other bars and restaurants close by. Paola was very helpful and an excellent host. Contact with her was excellent, both by phone and email The listing description and photographs were accurate. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 was because the question asked for MY experience. The problem did not lie with Paola or the studio, but with my bad legs (caused mainly by a fall I'd had earlier in the US). I found the approach to the property difficult as I could not easily manage the steep (but short) hill to get there or the loose gravel near the entrance. So the studio isn't great if you have serious mobility problems. I want to stress that this no way reflects badly on Paola or the studio and I can thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

  We live in the Arctic, 63 degrees north of the equator! Travelling to 15 degrees north of the equator was a real treat in November, believe me! We just had a week to enjoy Antigua, but it was paradise. Cool View Apartment is just that! What a view - I had to keep pinching myself each morning to make sure I was really looking from the balcony on such a breathtaking place! Like someone else said, the pictures do not do it justice! Paola dropped in a little while after we arrived and left her cell phone with us to use. She is so warm and you will feel like she is a friend from the start! The apartment is everything it says in the ad and everything a couple needs. I am getting "Homesick" now just looking at the pictures again! It is clean and comfortable. We loved it! Great place for a couple or a couple with two children who are not toddlers. We enjoyed feeding the banaquits and other little birdies on the balcony each morning. Pigeon Beach is just a short walk and there is a little restaurant there. The beach is perfect, calm warm water. Paola, we can't thank you enough and we thank you for dropping by to see us off! We hope we will be back!! xo

  We stayed at Cool View 2 in October for a week and highly recommend it. Great location right on Falmouth Harbour, 5 minute walk to Pigeon beach, 10 minute walk to Nelson's dockyard. Paola was in touch all the time to make sure we had anything we needed and even offered to buy us groceries as our flight was delayed. Clean unit equipped with a cellphone for local calls and a well equipped kitchen. Thanks Paola! Hope your son did well sailing! Peter and Ana.

  We spent almost month in Paula's lovely apartment, which was just as the photos promised and lived up to the reviews we read beforehand. Communication was excellent, any little problems were quickly sorted out, and we were taken aback by the kindness and friendliness of the people we met. Going in the low season it was very quiet, quite a few restaurants were closed but there were still enough around to satisfy us. High points were eating at Rum Baba's - delicious mediterranean cuisine cooked practically in front of you and an incredibly welcoming owner; going snorkelling with Shawn at Soul Immersions; hiring a car and visiting beautiful beaches such as the wonderfully deserted Fort Bay, and Half Moon Bay for icing sugar sand and lots of waves. Lots of time was spent the balcony watching yachts come and go whilst drinking rum and cokes, and the only down side were the mosquitoes which were hungry - we used 95% deet spray just on our feet, normal spray on the rest but in-between times still got eaten! All in all a super stay in a beautiful place.

  We can't believe our luck in finding Cool View Studio in Falmouth Harbour for our very first trip to Antigua. The view from the balcony is even more stunning than it looks in the picture. Imagine aquamarine water, blue skies with puffy white clouds and a rainbow ending at one of the gorgeous megayachts in the harbor! Paola was most helpful (even though we didn't actually get to meet her) and accommodating. Everything we needed was within walking distance -- Pigeon Beach, a grocery/liquor store, other wonderful shops, and terrific restaurants (we loved Bar-B's for breakfast and lunch, Southern Cross for Italian, Le Cap Horn for French, Trappas for everything Antiguan, The Admiral's Inn for fresh fish...and those are just a few!). We rented a car for a couple of days (Titi's is great) just to see the rest of the island, but we were happiest around Falmouth and English Harbours. The only downside -- mosquitos (maybe just the time of year?), but the bed has a terrific net...just needed some Off. The very friendly birdies on the balcony didn't seem interested in taking care of the bugs, though. The only other thing we'd bring next time is binoculars for close-ups of birds and boats!

  Cool View is the perfect name for this perfect studio apartment. We spent many hours on the deck enjoying the "cool view" of Falmouth Harbour. The location of this apartment is perfect. Walking distance to bars and restaurants as well as Nelsons Dockyard in English Harbour. Paola was very accommodating when we asked for a few extra items. Would we recommend this to our friends?...
