Very cool Cool View!

We can't believe our luck in finding Cool View Studio in Falmouth Harbour for our very first trip to Antigua. The view from the balcony is even more stunning than it looks in the picture. Imagine aquamarine water, blue skies with puffy white clouds and a rainbow ending at one of the gorgeous megayachts in the harbor! Paola was most helpful (even though we didn't actually get to meet her) and accommodating. Everything we needed was within walking distance -- Pigeon Beach, a grocery/liquor store, other wonderful shops, and terrific restaurants (we loved Bar-B's for breakfast and lunch, Southern Cross for Italian, Le Cap Horn for French, Trappas for everything Antiguan, The Admiral's Inn for fresh fish...and those are just a few!). We rented a car for a couple of days (Titi's is great) just to see the rest of the island, but we were happiest around Falmouth and English Harbours. The only downside -- mosquitos (maybe just the time of year?), but the bed has a terrific net...just needed some Off. The very friendly birdies on the balcony didn't seem interested in taking care of the bugs, though. The only other thing we'd bring next time is binoculars for close-ups of birds and boats!

Cool View is the perfect name for this perfect studio apartment. We spent many hours on the deck enjoying the "cool view" of Falmouth Harbour. The location of this apartment is perfect. Walking distance to bars and restaurants as well as Nelsons Dockyard in English Harbour. Paola was very accommodating when we asked for a few extra items. Would we recommend this to our friends?... I want to go back..... This place is simply fantastic, especially if you're looking for a spectacular view when you open your windows, so Paola, the owner, couldn't have chosen a better name. The apartment located directly at the Falmouth Harbor marina so you're looking at the biggest sailing yachts of the world when you have your glass of wine on the terrace at night. If you are somebody that want to stay apart from any huge holiday complex (which are on the island, too, but not as multi level floor hotels) and are a more independent traveler with individuality this should be really an option. The apartment is fully equipped, clean and do not looks sterile as many other holiday apartments so you feel like home when you arrive. There is no AC which might be taken into consideration, but as we are from Europe we preferred the cooling winds through all side windows (can be adjusted with the shutters) together with the ceiling fan. W-Lan is included but might be slow at peak times (but hey, you are on a Caribbean island!). Housekeeping upon individual scheduling, which is great. The apartment is set up like a maisonette so the upper sleep level is not separated which might be a point if you travel with 3-4 adults. I would recommend this apartment for 2-3 adults or a family with kids (who can sleep upstairs). There are some bars, a small supermarket, shops and car rental station (Titi Car) very close by so you can be among the yacht crew members on evenings if you want but you don't have too. Beaches are not a problem anyway in Antigua, rather the decision which one to choose today ;) , Pigeon beach is the closest to the apartment, 5-7min walk or 1min by car. Overall, coming from Germany, this was my first time at a warm place during Winter (been here 3.5 wks in Feb) and I have to ask myself why I started this so late;). For me and a good friend it was a perfect place to stay and a good base for island hoping and snorkeling in the Caribbean. Paola and especially Eloise from the Marina were both very helpful and friendly and gave us tons of recommendations and organized a lot (eg. massages at the marina spa or boat shuttle to an uninhabited island for snorkeling). Finally we can just highly recommend this place and will definitely stay there again when being on Antigua again. Alex & Sven, Berlin, Germany

The Cool View Studio was the perfect place for my wife and I to spend our long-overdue honeymoon in Antigua. Overlooking the gorgeous Falmouth Harbor, it could not be in a better location. Based on Paola's description, the pictures and reviews, we had high expectation and they were completely exceeded. This is a great spot for 2 people or a small family in that it takes just a few minutes to get to shops, cafe's, bars, some excellent restaurants, Nelson's Dockyard, some great hiking trails and Pigeon Beach, which is one of the top beaches on the island. Overall, it is a really fun and vibrant town that is far, far away from the cruise ships and mega resorts. Unlike other parts of the island, you really do not need a car in order to have an amazing time while staying at the Cool View Studio. Paola was a terrific host and met us at the marina when we arrived. Prior to that, she was extremely responsive when it came to making our reservation and answering questions. While we were there, she was always available by phone and email. She has the studio well-equipped with everything you need to be comfortable (bedding, sheets, towels, etc.) along with a complete kitchen which we used quite a bit. In all, the single best part of the studio is the deck that overlooks the harbor and hills beyond. We sat there for hours and miss it very much. Such a great spot to check out the beautiful boats, look out over the hills and out to the turquoise water. We ate breakfast there every morning and logged in many more hours reading, napping, and hanging out with a cocktail. We hope to return soon to Antigua where we will undoubtedly stay at the Cool View Studio for its convenience, beauty and privacy.

Great time at Cool View Studio

Reasonably priced, great location with harbour view from balcony and bed too. Clean, safe, fully equipped. Pigeon Beach a short (hilly) walk away, gorgeous and underutilized. One or two blocks to bus stop, cafes, restaurants groceries and two or three boutiques.. Host very gracious, suggested activities, called couple of times to make sure things were fine. Small studio for four people for long term stay but great for a couple or a single. I was there almost a month, felt right at home, good lighting, available maid and responsible handyman. Can't wait to rent again.

A room with a view

'Cool View' is just that. You never tire of sitting on the deck, sipping your cocktail, and watching life unfold in the harbor. The studio condo, though small, is attractively decorated, and even has a small tv for those who can't get away from it all. The owner, Paola Vittori, is very laid back but enormously hospitable. The location (and it always comes down to location) is perfect, with its view of the harbor, Sugarloaf and Signal Mountains, its proximity to Pigeon Beach, and the bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. There is also Nelson's Dockyard, a pleasant stroll away, with its buildings and history. I have spent five months in Antigua over the last four years and highly recommend 'Cool View' for someone wishing to vacation in Antigua.

FANTASTIC APARTMENT

We stayed in this apartment for a week whilst visiting our son who was working on a yacht in English Harbour. It was perfect - very clean and tidy with great views over Falmouth Harbour. I could have sat on the balcony all day just watching the boats! The apartment was located very close to shops, bars and restaurants and Pigeon beach was only a 5 minute walk over the hill. The kitchen was well equiped although we only ate breakfast in the apartment. Sheets and towels were changed during the week and everything was to a high standard. Our daughter (aged 25) stayed in the loft and it was quite very comfortable although obviously did not have much privacy. It is an ideal apartment if you wish to be close to English or Falmouth Harbour and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
