Wood stove down, gas fireplace up. First floor was originally a Sears-Roebuck kit house built in the 20's...now completely updated and renovated. Second floor added in 2005. Heart of pine flooring throughout. Private sinks in two downstairs bedrooms, plus additional bedroom providing 2 Suites for families with young children. Front porch is huge and screened with white wicker rocking chairs and dining table and chairs, plus trestle table for those casual seafood dinners. Rear deck for private conversations. Updated bathrooms, two with double sinks and one with original claw foot tub/shower. Three car garage with shower. Laundry room on second floor has Whirlpool front loaded Duet Washer and Dryer. Fenced Private pool with deck chairs. Gate from Porch to Pool to protect young children. Upstairs balcony is the same size as the screened porch and has wonderful view of ocean and deck chairs. Why the Owner Chose Isle of Palms

I bought it to live in and then moved to Raleigh, so have spent the last 28 years making it as wonderful as I can and have never lived in it full time. Once you have a taste of Charleston and the Low Country, you can't get it out of your system. The people, the food, the beach...there's nothing like it in this world.

I can feel the stress leaving my bones as I walk through the front door. The house is like a home, not like a sparsely furnished beach house...It's fully equipped with everything a family could need. Wonderful restaurants down the street and of course, downtown Charleston is one of our undiscovered cities...

 

Owner's Map of Isle of Palms

I bought this house, which we have always called The Shack, in 1981 when it was literally falling down. My children cried when I told them we were going to live there. Since then, it has gone through many incarnations, most recently when my son persuaded me to put a second floor on it..."so we won't be embarrassed to say it's our beach house". If you come to visit this house, you will see hanging on the wall the "original" as well as other photos and drawings of the house until it reached its full potential. Now I need people to rent it so I can pay for it!
