Our house is located about five miles from Blowing Rock, NC in a very quiet neighborhood called Misty Mountain. It overlooks the gorge and is 100 feet from the Pisgah National Forest. You can wake up in the morning and drink your coffee while looking out over the long-range views of the Pisgah National Forest. From the back of the house, you literally have a panoramic view of one rolling mountain range after another. You see nothing but mountains as far as the eye can see. It's quite spectacular You can end your day with a glass of wine while relaxing on the deck and gazing at the glorious view.
There are also plenty of things to do during the day. You are within a short drive of three ski resorts. Appalachian Ski Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and Beech Mountain are all close by if you want to enjoy a day of skiing. There are also many hikes that can be done along the Blue Ridge Parkway, all of varying lengths and difficulty. There are also numerous activities to entertain both the road cyclist and the mountain biker. All of this is located nearby. There are also lakes and rivers close by for kayaking and canoeing and waterfalls for exploring.
And, if you just want to relax and stay at home, we have a 42-inch plasma television with a DVD and Roku player. We also have high speed, wireless internet in the house. We have comfortable furniture and a fireplace for those that want to curl up with a book. The kitchen is also fully equipped for those who want to enjoy gourmet meals in this beautiful setting.

- Air Conditioning: The house is fully air conditioned but this is seldom needed in the mountains surrounding Blowing Rock.
- Washer: The house has its own washer and dryer and they are located together in the closet off the master bathroom.

- Off Street Parking: There is not off street parking. Right past our house, the paved road turns into a dirt/gravel road. We park on the side of the road right where this dirt/gravel road starts. We are technically at the end of the road, therefore, it gets very little use. However, a car will occasionally come past.

- King Bed: The master bedroom has both a king-sized bed and a queen-sized pullout sofa bed.
- Queen Bed: One of the additional bedrooms that also has a spectacular view has a queen-sized bed.
- Bunk Bed (2) : We have two sets of bunk beds in the third bedroom. This is the bedroom we use for our children. It is the only bedroom that does not have the wonderful view.
- Convertible Bed: The queen-sized sleeper sofa is located in the master bedroom and would probably be best used for families with small children, who wanted to stay in the same room with their parents.

We live in Hickory, NC, which is about a one hour drive from Blowing Rock. We have three children, who all love spending time in the mountains. We all love the mountains and spend as much time as possible there.
Why the Owner Chose Blowing Rock
We decided on this location because of the beautiful views and the many recreational opportunities in the area.
The Unique Benefits of this House
During the winter, we all ski and snowboard at the nearby ski resorts and go sledding down the hills off the Blue Ridge Parkway. In the summer, we go bike riding and hiking on the numerous trails in the area. We also like to hike in the nearby Pisgah National Forest.
