Jason and Lori are the proud owners of this property.
Why the Owner Chose Spooner
Jason's parents had a lake home in the area when Jason was a small child. He had been looking at properties in a variety of areas. This one was near a great small town on a beautiful and quiet lake. Fishing is one of Jason's favorite past times and he has pulled some impressive fish out of the lake year round.

We enjoyed staying at your lake home with eight adults, three children two years to six weeks of age, and one dog. The home is well equipped and very functional. We enjoyed using the boat to fish McKinley for the bluegills. The dining table handled all of us well. Our only suggestion would be to have the local fire numbers, police/sheriff's office numbers and electric company available in case of need. It was a very good week.

I have used this property more than once. The house is comfortable; all the conveniences of home with the feel of a getaway. It's obvious that the owners care for their home and everything points to that. Any concerns or questions are easily communicated and answered. Check out the Namekagon River, read a book on the dock, cast a line in the lake, look for some of the local eats within a short drive (or walk). Everyone in my family left relaxed but not necessarily ready to go back home.

A wonderful place to stay on a lake

A girlfriend and I spent a wonderful week at this property this spring. It is nicely landscaped with native flowers and tall pine trees. With the trees comes sap, so I'd suggest taking your shoes off inside, as the entire main floor is carpeted in very light colors. I'd planned on spending a week at a hotel, until my friend mentioned her experience with VRBO. We picked this place because it was on a lake, with rowboat, and canoe and it had Direct TV. I planned on doing nothing at night, so I wanted a TV with decent coverage. Some of the other places in the area had no TV or only local coverage. It took us two days to figure out how to use the Direct TV. Finally we gave up trying to figure out the remotes, and just changed the channels on the TV like in the old days! While we didn’t use the boat or canoe, we truly enjoyed sitting on the dock, and taking pictures. My friend was up early one morning and she got some great pictures of an eagle over the water and a flock of geese. The kitchen is well stocked, but I brought some spices along anyway. I used the Master bedroom and my friend took the room with the double bed. We both slept well and thought the beds were very comfortable. There was only a tub in the Master bathroom, so we both used the other bathroom to shower. The owners have a nice book with lots of ideas for restaurants and activities. We went into Hayward twice, and I enjoyed the area so much that I hope to come back with my husband one day. The owners are very pleasant and easy to work with. I sent them the deposit when I made our reservation, and then two weeks before we were going to travel, I paid for the rest of the week’s charges. Although their ad states that they accepted credit cards, when I asked, I was told that I needed to pay by check. It wasn’t a major problem for me, so I didn’t press the issue. We truly enjoyed our stay and I think that you will too!
