Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 1979

The Scout Cabin is owned by the Grant and Leona Grover Family. After Grant's passing in 1979, his sweetheart, Leona had the cabin moved to its present location near the Grover home. It was originally built in Teton Canyon during the 1950's by Grant, a life long valley resident and talented carpenter. Grant was scout master at the time and his son, Jack was a Boy Scout. The crew; including Scout Troop 84 under Grant's direction cut down the trees, took them to the mill and built this valley treasure. The original wood floor was refinished and a full kitchen and bath were added after it was moved to its present location. Leona lived in the log home next door for another 30 years until she passed away in 2009. The couple loved Teton Valley where they spent their whole lives. They enjoyed welcoming guests and newcomers to the Valley and the family welcomes visitors to enjoy this cozy cabin.
