Map & Owner's Profile
Hendersonville Cottage is Celebrating the Holidays!
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Hendersonville
As a child, I fell in love with this part of Western North Carolina when I attended Camp Graystone in the summer. I dreamed that some day I would live here and am thrilled that my dream has come true. Our family has lived in Hendersonville for 15 years. We all love the year round beauty of this "Land of the Four Seasons." I still love it here as much as I did as a child.
I chose this property for its beauty and its excellent location. Only one door away from our favorite street(historic 4th Ave.), it is an easy walk to downtown Main St. My family and I love the side walk strolls, the lovely park nearby and all the wonderful restaurants, shops, art galleries, etc.
Several well known camps and retreat centers are close by. Asheville airport is only a 15-20 drive.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Hendersonville Cottage is an ideal home to return to after exploring the mountains. My favorite place in winter is next to the fireplace, looking out at the large magnolia and the glow of sunset through the trees. A little hot tea, music, a good book...ahhh. The cottage is close to everything, yet quiet and peaceful. The best of both worlds.
Over 120 quality shopping and dining venues, including art galleries, Folk Arts & Craft shops, antique shops, historical sites, all kinds of dining venues, and entertainment throughout the year.
"Little Laurel Green Playground offers natural walking trails, shaded park benches, a creek and pond with ducks. It also offers a gazebo and a kid friendly playground."
Owner's Map of Hendersonville
I am a professional photographer and love the quiet beauty of this historic, small hometown in the mountains. I want you to enjoy your visit and love the area as much as we do! We live 7 minutes from the cottage and are happy to help you in any way we can. Also, a wonderful neighbor lives next to the cottage and is available.
There are several beautiful golf courses nearby. Crooked Creek Golf Club is open to the public and both nice and affordable.
Downtown Hendersonville has a number of excellent art galleries featuring local artists. When I want to feed my soul, I go the Wickwire on Main Street.
Dupont State Forest offers level hiking, beautiful waterfalls, swimming, and more strenuous hikes with breath taking views. Pisgah forest offers hiking, tubing, fly fishing, swimming and more.
I love to meet friends at the Flat Rock Village Bakery. Scott, the baker and his wife Alexis, who is an artist, started the bakery about 10 years ago. He and his partner built the wood fired oven themselves. Scones and coffee in the morning and awesome pizza. Try the goat chees pizza-yum!
My children and I sometimes make a day of all Flat Rock has to offer. We start with scones at the bakery, go for a hike and pet the goats at Carl Sanburg's historic home (the house tour is also fun) and then head back to the Bakery and The Wrinkled Egg attached to it. They have hand scooped Blue Bunny Ice cream and we pet the rabbit in the children's store. Flat Rock Playhouse is not to be missed either!
In the fall, we head to Sky Top Orchards which offers amazing views into South Carolina. It is small, charming, family owned, with a playground, a bamboo forest, ducks, goats pond, and homemade goods. Pick your own apples or just buy a bag. Enjoy free samples of a variety of apples, fantastic cider, and a hay ride tour.

Thank you!
