The historic stone villa has been refurbished with luxury in mind, with 11 bedrooms, all with private bathrooms, three of which are full suites with sofas and coffee tables, and two are disabled accessible. There is also a media room in an ancient barrel vault, a magnificent dining room with triple height ceiling, Wi-Fi, a gym, professional catering kitchen, relaxation and meeting rooms, including a west facing covered terrace from which you can enjoy the spectacular sunset over the volcanoes.
On-site there is also 25 meter outdoor pool, jacuzzi/spa, patios and a treatment room for massages, physiotherapy and spa treatments. Bike rental, road and mountain bikes are also available on site. You can also book personal training sessions, water workouts, bike guiding, cycling and triathlon coaching and also we have a great chef available for catering should you require it. Everything can be customized for your vacation here at Mas Pelegri.
The mansion is built in the old ways and has 60 cm walls so stays cool even in the height of Summer, but also stays warm in winter. We do also have ecological air-conditioning, we have this as an extra should you require it. The whole mansion is also fitted with underfloor central heating as it does get cold here in the height of winter, but once the sun comes up it is always beautiful outside. We also have two wood burning stoves to add heat and ambience.
The country mansion is set in the midst of the beautiful Catalan countryside, with easy access to Girona, Barcelona, the Pyrenees, the beautiful coves and beaches of the Costa Brava, and the French border. Mas Pelegri is available for private groups, sporting clubs and teams, corporate events, weddings and for the individual.
The old town of Girona is just 20 mins drive away. Dali's Museu de Teatre is also just 20 min drive. The medieval town of Besalu with its ancient Miqve is just 5 min drive away. The ancient Greek and Roman ruins at Empuries are 30 min drive. We can also arrange day trips in our 9 seater people carrier. For larger groups we have a great local coach company which can organize airport pick ups and day trips.

Year Purchased: 2005
Husband and wife team who run a sports tourism company in Girona, Spain. Gareth is a triathlon and cycling coach and Fiona is a sports and science writer and a triathlon coach. They are British and lived in San Diego for 6 years before moving to Girona to set up their business over here. They have taken time to restore Mas Pelegri into a luxury villa, while still maintaining the character of the ancient stone building that is from the XV century.
Why the Owner Chose Girona
This location is amazing. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside with views of the high Pyrenees and the Volcanic National Park. This area has the best cycling both road and mountain biking in the world. The roads are quiet and well maintained and the weather is fantastic. We left San Diego because the roads just got to busy for cycling. Here we can go out every day on beautiful routes and not have to worry about the cars. The locals are friendly and really want to get to know you and we are close to the beautiful beaches of the Costa Brava and also only 45 min drive from a ski resort. There is also an immense amount of culture here, with ancient ruins, art galleries, and local festivals all within easy reach. Barcelona is also only just over 1 hours drive away. Who could ask for more.
The Unique Benefits of this Country House / Chateau
Mas Pelegri is large, with a huge dining room with triple height ceilings and a beautiful high terrace for watching the beautiful sun sets over the Volcanic National Park. There are also many other relaxation rooms, including a media room in an ancient barrel vault, so even in a large group you can find a place to relax. Swimming every day in a 25 meter pool is amazing and with the views from the pool it is wonderful. There are walking and running trails right from the property, down to the river Fluvia and nature reserve. So you can just walk directly out into nature. The property has also been built environmentally, so everything has been thought of to lower then impact on the environment, including collecting the rain water for the garden, ecological lighting, low energy appliances. So you know you are also reducing your impact on the environment. There are also mountain bikes and road bikes available for rent on the property and a horse riding stables only 1km down the road, a fantastic golf course is only 15 min drive away, so there are so many activities you can choose from. We can also arrange for massage therapists, physiotherapists, personal trainers, beauty therapists and a chef etc to come to Mas Pelegri for you.

Mas Pelegri is an awesome property in a nice village only 25mins from the city of Girona. My visit was for a cycling holiday and Mas Pelegri was perfect with its location at the hub of many routes heading into and around the Pyrenees. The property is amazing to look at and very spacious rooms inside. The owners are very friendly and ensure all your needs are covered. Meals were provided each day which were excellent. I would recommend Mas Pelegri to sports people and tourists alike.
