Very comfortable house, well-equipped kitchen, everything as described -- and best of all, location right on the water so perfect for viewing sunsets. We were here for spring break and we didn't bring our kayaks b/c it was still cold, but there is a good put-in place, easy access. The decks are a real plus for this house -- several of them on different levels and nice furniture. Neighborhood is appealing and good location. Only negative is the location of the hot tub -- almost froze to death getting back inside, as it is under the 1st-level deck next to the outdoor shower.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

A wonderful cottage on Pamlico Sound in Frisco. Really nice neighborhood in great Outer Banks location. Cottage is outfitted with great amenities and furnishings. Nice upper deck views, although half of sound view is blocked by trees. Speaking of trees, what a wonderful lot. Great outdoor shower, average hot tub. Shower with doors open to really enjoy experience. As much as we liked this cottage we probably will not return because of our difficulty with so many steps. Extremely clean and comfortable cottage. Please fix master bedroom sliding door.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful vacation at Kapt'n Kelly's. The house was really clean and in a wonderful location in Frisco. It is right next to the Sound and is in a quiet, peaceful location but close to the beaches and other attractions. We loved the upper deck with the beautiful view and we also enjoyed the screened in porch very much. The cottage had everything we required and our group and dogs loved our time there. My husband and I ended up just relaxing in the house for much of the time during our holiday. Judy was very helpful through the entire booking process and also very accommodating about a sudden date change. Our deposit was returned promptly upon our return and we really appreciated working with her. Thank you Judy and we look forward to returning to Kapt'n Kelly's!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was a great house and clean. My entire family had a great time. The this was my parent's first trip to the Outer Banks and they had a great time! We had our dogs along for the trip and they seemed to enjoy themselves. Easy access to the beach and close to the Ocracoke Ferry. It would be nice for all the bedrooms to have TV. The hot tub was great and made for relaxing evenings. Nice and quite neighborhood!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners.

Capt Kelly's was a fun experience for the whole family. 3 decks, game room was fun and the home was clean. Hot tub is a little dated and has virtually no view. The kitchen was large and had everything we needed. The view from the upper deck was nice but the trees blocked half of it. The backyard wasn't really an area we could enjoy as the sound side is just grassy and mud filled. Regardless of the the negatives this was still a very fun place to hang for a week. The family enjoyed it and that's all that matters. A short ride to the beach, hatteras and the ferry to ocracoke made this an ideal location. A grocery store just 2 miles away, the airport just minutes down the road. Overall 4 out of 5 for the price and location.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners.

Our family had an awesome time at this unique home. We fell in love with the neighborhood because of all the wooded areas and beautiful live oak trees with spainish moss. The house had so many cool features and supplies. We had everything we needed and then some. All the reviews we read about the sunsets were soo true. I never wanted to be away from the house when the sun was going down. Once we were shown by the nice man from Shore Details how to work the hot tub, it was great and soo relaxing. My dad, husband and son loved the pool table and had so many good laughs playing pool into the night. We had a wonderful time walking our pups in the neighborhood and riding bikes around. We met alot of nice folks in this area too. We would love to return some day!!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, pet owners, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind review!! Hope to have you again next year!! Judy

Beautiful house and the view was wonderful! The outdoor shower was FABULOUS! Our family enjoyed playing pool in the game room and many board games at the large dining room table. We were so tired at the end of each full day, we didn't even care there was no TV in the bedroom. The kids room did have a TV with a DVD player. Already planning on booking again next year!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

This house is fantastic! The views were beautiful, and the sunsets were extraordinary. We enjoyed watching the fish jump and the birds dive into the sound. The swing on the screened-in porch provided quiet relaxation and more wonderful views. We had a great time sitting on the deck, lounging in the hot tub, and playing pool. The home was well stocked, clean and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed plus more, and it was outfitted with extremely nice appliances. Grilling out became a nightly ritual for us. The outdoor shower is a must. What a view! The house's location also made this a great trip. The drive to the beach was short, and there were great seafood markets, stores, and restaurants nearby. The Hatteras Lighthouse was only a few miles away, and there was lots to do - everything from renting kayaks to fishing. There were also nice places to bike ride. All in all, this house was a great deal! The owners were very easy to work with and clearly take great care of their home. We highlighly recommend this rental.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We had a fabulous time at the beach house and enjoyed a nice escape to the Outer Banks! It was beautiful. The house was very nice and exceptionally CLEAN! It was very well furnished with neat decor and the kitchen had everything you would want or need! The different levels provided such variety. It was great to have the option of sitting on the upper deck overlooking the sound, going to the middle level on the enclosed porch in the WONDERFULLY comfortable swing or sitting out near the water. We went to many of the little shops around Cape Hatteras and enjoyed the quaint village areas. Not near as touristy as Nags Head area! Very quiet. We also discovered though that things close up fairly early. Most shops closed by 8:00. Of course the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is a must see. We shopped at the little grocery store called Conner's Supermarket and we were amazed at what variety they had for such a small little supermarket. Everyone was very friendly. The beaches were not crowded at all. We also got to see a pelican rescued by a handful of people on the beach. It had been wrapped in fishing line and couldn't fly and a few people on the beach covered it with a towel and untangled the line. It was great to see something positive like that where people actually did something to help! The beaches were beautiful, the waves were amazing and the neighborhood where the house is located was so peaceful. It is a very cool home! We enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

This was our first experience with a rental home so we have nothing to compare with, but, we would be very surprised if anything could top this one. The location is in a quiet, tree lined neighborhood. We very much enjoyed the privacy lounging on the back deck, either having morning coffee or early evening cocktails while gazing out at the Pamlico Sound and the different species of birds found there. Sunsets were a real treat. I don't think we missed one the whole week. With only a short drive to the ocean, we also took in the sunrises a couple of mornings when we arose early enough. A favorite morning ritual was taking the dog for a walk a couple of blocks down to the main road to the quaint and fantastic coffee shop. The house was very clean and very inviting. My son and I enjoyed the pool table as well! We could not have asked for a better place to spend our first, but probably not our last trip to the beautiful and enchanting Outer Banks. Thanks.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, pet owners, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
