Why the Owner Chose Kolea

I personally built this home, as I am an Architect, and chose Kolea in the Waikoloa Beach Resort because it is perfect for friends and family to enjoy. I have owned property in the Waikoloa Beach Resort since 2002 and love the area for all of its beauty and convenience for vacationing.

We just returned from 6 nights at this large, expansive home. PROS: The house is located near A Bay Beach within walking distance to the pool area and beach and very close to wonderful shops and restaurants. Garden is lovely with many flowering plants. The construction of the home is excellent and very well laid out with 5 bedrooms. Be aware the master has a foam bed--some people find them hot--we were fine. There was a nice flat screen tv... no DVR... in the family room. The dining table and chairs are lovely and can seat 8. There is a large closet with many towels and a laundry area which came in handy. And the master bath has an awesome shower. CONS: While the price was about half of other similar homes, there were some issues that keep it from being a truly 5 star property. First, the tall blinds in both masters were not workable and so the ability to open up the bedrooms to the backyard was not possible which was very disappointing as it was a feature we were looking forward to. The carpet in the bedrooms had stains everywhere...I even called the owner right away to let him know since we didn't want to be responsible. We could not get the hot tub to warm up even after following the directions several times. The cushions on the furniture outside needed to be replaced as they were not clean and had flattened. The dishwasher kept falling forward which made it hard to load. And there weren't too many usable beach toys in the garage as all the boogie boards were broken. There were two golf carts in the garage which would have come in handy, but no instructions as to how to use them. We just got the feeling that the home is for sale and the owner isn't taking as good of care as he could be. The home has the potential to be magnificent with some deep cleaning, a better house instruction manual on how to work everything, and the purchase of new "toys" and beach bags.
