My Family and I completed Bennington in 2002. It's the fourth home we have designed and built as a vacation rental. As do all our homes it comes completely furnished, well maintained, our house cleaner ( who has worked with us for 14 years) keeps our homes exceptionally clean. It offers a full kitchen, Hot tub, free wifi, and many more features.
Newport's Nye Beach District offers many fine restaurant choices, local shops, live music, surfing, sailing, hiking, biking, FRESH LOCAL SEAFOOD, deep sea fishing charters.
Nye Beach offers five miles of wide sandy beaches with convenient public beach entries. Nearby Agate Beach, Moolach Beach, South Beach offer many more miles to explore and enjoy.
The nearby Performing Arts Center and Visual Art’s Center add to the general ambiance of the neighborhood.

Why the Owner Chose Newport
For thirty years we operated monthly rentals in the Nye Beach Area. Both my wife and I got to a point when we wanted to try something else. The Nye Beach Area always had beautiful beaches with an incredible coast line. At the time we started in 1995 there were no other Vacation Rentals in our Community. I wanted to bring the quality I had found elsewhere to our Community. That's why I built the Bennington Home as well as The Fairhaven, Applegate and Wakefield .
The Unique Benefits at this House
There are many coastal communities to choose from but few that offer the diversity that Newport can offer. A working seaport with a prosperous commercial and charter fishing industry. A major university (Oregon State University) and its Marine Affiliate. The home of NOAA Fleet for the next twenty years. Miles of Scenic Beaches, The Oregon Coast Aquarium the former home of Keiko the killer Whale, A thriving Bay-front shopping District. The Growing Nye Beach Historic and Art District, quickly becoming a popular destination. With Yachats To the South with Cape Perpetua, and Cascade Head to the North with the Artist Sitka Center the range and scope of entertaining day-trips will keep you busy. Many Lighthouse's offer other diversions.

My Name's Norm, I have lived, worked and raised a family in Newport for close to forty years, We have owned this property for thirty of those years and I designed and built this home, one of four, in 2002. I have worked in the woods as a choker-setter, Fished crab, salmon, shrimp and tuna. Owned and operated a construction business in this town before letting my license go in 2005. Now I operate a small farm with my wife and entertain our grand-daughter's along with 120 plus chickens.

Norm, What a pretty home, it was comfortable I didn’t want to leave. Sunday was rainy; Monday and Tuesday were very nice. We walked a lot. Down to the Bay, a lot of miles on the beach, went to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse and down to the tide pools, Saw starfish, clams hermit crabs and harbor seals on the rocks. I would recommend that. Make sure the tide is right. We went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and had a great time. The tunnel Aquariums are unbelievable. Lots of game playing and relaxing. Hope to come back next year! The best weather yet! A little windy but everyday nice enough to spend time on the beach. Actually chased large crabs in the surf but unfortunately didn’t catch any. This house is beautiful and clearly our favorite beach retreat. We’ll be back next year! The Rekates
