Sugar Pine Cabin - South Lake Tahoe
Location: Bijou 2, South Lake Tahoe, Lake Tahoe South Shore CA, Lake Tahoe California, California, USA (3 Blocks to Beach or Casino Shuttle) View Map
Accommodations: House, 4 Bedrooms + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 2 Baths (Sleeps 10)
This spacious 1811 sq ft home has four bedrooms and two full baths. The downstairs Master bedroom has a king bed and a second and third bedroom have queen-size beds, all with 400+-thread-count linens and plenty of closet space, one upstairs bedroom which we call “the dorm” has 4 twins. Both bathrooms have hairdryers and plenty of plush towels for up to ten people.
Sugar Pine Cabin is nestled in Historic Bijou Pines with wonderful Tahoe charm! This immaculate brand new remodel (2009) is located in a safe, kid-friendly, pine-tree lined neighborhood with historic cabins and minimal traffic great for taking a stroll or riding one of the 4 bikes we include in the rental. We stress that we are a quiet charming neighborhood. We are NOT a party house. The cabin’s warm, inviting atmosphere is created by the comfortable cabin décor and extra large beautiful gas fireplace insert in the spacious but cozy living room with plenty of seating for your group. Curl up to read one of the books from our library by yourself or play one of the games we have to choose from with the whole group!
The large, remodeled country kitchen is fully equipped with new large and small appliances (blender/food processor, coffee maker, electric tea pot, rice cooker, mixer, immersion blender, toaster, crock pot, coffee grinder, etc.), plenty of pots, pans and utensils including a large spaghetti pot with steamer and a turkey roasting pan, completed with a dining table that seats ten! The beautiful new cabinets are well-stocked, and you’ll love the granite countertops and gas stove. All combine to be a kitchen to really cook in. We’ve even included some of our favorite family recipes for you to try!
In the evening, head out to the inviting backyard to relax in your private hot tub while you enjoy a glass of wine under the stars after a day at the lake, or pop in your favorite DVD (we have a large selection to choose from or you can rent one at the nearby Blockbuster or Safeway) to watch on the new 40” High Definition LCD TV (also great for watching ESPN-HD!). Master has a new flat-screen TV and DVD player, and upstairs in the Dorm is a large-screen TV with a combo VCR/DVD player.
The backyard is as inviting as the house with chairs to relax in, a gas grill, picnic table and jacuzzi. If you’re headed to the beach, we have sand chairs, an ice chest on wheels, sand toys, noodles and more. If you’re here in the winter, we have snow toys as well, along with a mud room for skiers to offload and stow your gear.

Sugar Pine Cabin Remodeled 3 Blocks to Beach. Jacuzzi, Wifi
Year Purchased: 2009
Why the Owner Chose Bijou 2
Tahoe is one of our favorite spots, plus it's close to where we live, so it made the perfect location for a vacation home. We love bringing our children and grandchildren here for family gatherings so we needed a house large enough to be able to do that. We also wanted a neighborhood safe for the grandkids to walk and bike around the house. We've met all our neighbors and appreciate the fact that the location has such a safe and friendly feel to it.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Winter has arrived. We just spent Thanksgiving with our family at the cabin. Three foot of snow there! Bob is a forester, so the landscape, terrain and wildlife of Tahoe is especially appealing. Inviting friends to come up and spend time with us barbecuing, playing games, hiking and just hanging out makes owning this cabin an ideal opportunity.
El Dorado Beach and Boat Ramp is the largest beach area in South Lake Tahoe. It is the place to go for large picnics, launching your boat, renting a kayak or water toy, or viewing the lake
Three blocks away - easy walk! Right on the corner of Rufus Allen and Hwy 50.
South Lake Tahoe Certified Farmer's Market June 9, 2009 to October 13, 2009 American Legion Hall Parking Lot 2732 South Lake Tahoe Blvd (Hwy 50) Tuesdays 8AM - 1PM
Freshies . . . A long standing local favorite for delicious, fresh, organic, healthy food and friendly service. http://www.freshiestahoe.com/ Hint: try to get seated on the roof patio at sunset!
Regan Beach is a couple of blocks down Lakeview Avenue at Sacramento Avenue and has restrooms, handicapped restrooms, picnic facilities, a snack bar, volleyball, playground and grassy areas.
If you have extra guests visiting, Inn by the Lake is walking distance away from Sugar Pine Cabin. Bear Beach Cafe is located on the same property. http://innbythelake.com/bearbeachcafe.html
The Tudor Pub, located just above the Dory's Oar, is a "Local's" Institution. And as they say, "If it's popular with the Locals, it's a 'must do' for visiting tourists." http://www.dorysoar.com/tudor
Tasting Room open 7 days a week, 11-6. No appointment necessary, $5 tasting fee for any 5 wines, refundable with purchase. http://www.picchetti.com/tahoe.html
Great healthy food, including lots of vegetarian and vegan choices.
Fun bowling alley within walking distance! Has a sports bar, pizza place, billiards, arcade games and more. http://www.tahoebowl.com/

Owner's Map of Bijou 2
We purchased this house in 2009 and have had a great time remodeling and redecorating to make it as accommodating as possible. We love to travel to new areas so we appreciate the extra touches that owners provide to make our stays more enjoyable. We have lived in nearby Placerville, CA since 1985 and Lake Tahoe has always been a favorite vacation spot for us and our family. So it made sense that, when it came time to buy our own vacation home, we would choose there. Recently retired, we are now able to take full advantage of a vacation home and have filled it with all the amenities we appreciate having when we're at our home away from home. We hope you enjoy Sugar Pine Cabin as much as we do, and we hope you'll share your experience with us after your stay so we can continue to make the improvements our guests want.

Large Family Getaway - Loved it!

I loved this cabin! We had a large family party of 11 and had plenty of room for everyone to relax. We had two elderly people who loved to enjoy the warmth and coziness of the living room, the two little ones (8 & 3 yrs.) enjoyed exploring the cabin, our couple of youngsters loved to relax in the jacuzzi, and everyone was pleasantly surprised at how this felt a home away from home. Everything was clean, neat, and very well organized. We had plenty of resources at our fingertips (brochures, coupons, and the owners/housekeeper themselves were always more than willing to help). This was the first time I ever rented anything like this so I didn't know what to expect, but I could not have asked for a better experience. The owner was kind enough to meet us and let us borrow some equipment in case of snow; the booking (once I figured out how to use Pay Pal) went smoothly. We got directions, weather forecast, and road conditions from the owners. The deposit was returned in a timely manner. We all left excited and looking forward to returning someday soon. KV

A wonderful house set in a quiet neighborhood. Plenty of space, everything clean and many things close by. Hot tub was an extra bonus at the end of a long day playing at the beach with the kids and playing at the casinos with the adults. Communication was easy with email and phone calls. Have stayed various other places in Tahoe and will return here for sure!

An excellent cabin in a great location. The cabin is well maintained and spotlessly clean. This was our second visit from UK to Tahoe and this cabin exceeded our expectations. We received great customer service from the owners Kay and Bob via e-mail and the occasional telephone call. We would recommend this property due to its location to the lake and all other amenities. We expect to holiday again in the Tahoe region and would certainly return to the Sugar Pine Cabin. Overall, great value for an excellent cabin in a fantastic location.

Exceeded expectations! Spotless inside with great furnishings. Kids loved the 'dorm' room. Quiet neighborhood - close to all activities. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would request to stay there in the future.

The cabin is really great. The furniture is well kept and overall the decor was better than expected. The furnace and fire kept the house warm. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to make a meal for a large group. We had a wonderful time and the owners made the rental process really easy. My deposit was also returned promptly after our stay.

There for our daughter's wedding at Zephyer Cove. Out of towners who stayed with us were very impressed.Fantastic cabin and surrounding area. Right in the "heart" of Tahoe this beautiful cabin has EVERYTHING you could possibly want or need. The remote control fierplace was over the top and made the cabin temperature always comfortable. Close to skating, swimming, biking, casinos, stores. The cabin is beautfully maintained and fully stocked. Sleeping 10 was no problem for us. Linens and towels and coffee beans in abundance. Highly recommend it without reservation!

I can only say that the Sugar Pine Cabin is everything it appears to be and more. The house is cozy yet spacious. The beds are beautifully appointed and comfortable. Our family made use of the bikes, hot tub and BBQ provided. The neighborhood is close to everything and we rode bikes to breakfast at Heidi's and the Red Hut. Enjoyed several rounds of golf and watched the fireworks from Regan's Beach. Thank you so much, Kay and Bob for sharing a place where everyone can feel like they are home. It was fun to pretend!
