  This place is really special. A real retreat, away from it all. We were lucky to have incredible sunsets during our stay which really made it for us. A great place for a getaway.

  We absolutely wallowed for a whole week in this forest sanctuary. We stayed in our pajamas till noon, ate lunch then headed out for an afternoon on the the Big Sur coastal trails for more awe. We noticed that our bio-rhythms got attuned to the earth. Long silent nights of sleep with stars and moon through the skylight deepened our inner quiet. This is the perfect nest for contemplatives. And the beauty, OMG. Big Sur is incomparable.

  Beautiful and peaceful retreat surrounded by tall trees, starry nights, and mountain air. A sweet cabin for two, with a skylight to watch the moon and stars under your bed, an outdoor shower with just the right pressure and heat to venture out on a cold night, and decks to watch the birds swoop from tree to tree. Tall windows feel like you're nestled inside a treehouse. The toaster oven even has a convection oven function to make cake baking possible. I'd move in if I could.. amazing place for a getaway retreat- we will be back.

  Our experience was absolutely wonderful in renting this property. I have to admit that the cabin was smaller than I assumed from the photos, though that was not a bad thing. It was a perfect, cozy little area for two people. Our hostess, Embree, was excellent! She was very good at communicating and showing us the place. She gave us lots of local knowledge about the area and included books and other information in the cabin about what there was to do in the surrounding area. She even lent us some extra sweaters as we came unprepared for the unusually cool weather we experienced while we were there. If you're looking for a romantic little getaway for two people with a great location and great price, look no further. We enjoyed every moment in the big sur area and at our little cabin in the woods (yet minutes from the ocean).

  My boyfriend and I rented this cabin for a weekend while driving up the coast, and had a wonderful time. While he was originally more excited about hiking in the area, the cabin and its view are so beautiful that we spent more of our time indoors enjoying it. My absolute favorite part was the bathtub, which is a shabby chic porcelain affair in a bathroom with wrap around windows, so that you can take a relaxing soak and enjoy the view. Importantly, the house was very clean and stocked with health and food basics like, shampoo, soap, moisturizer, olive oil, salt, tea, etc. (I was even more impressed that the health and food products were all organic.) We also loved the beautiful fresh flowers set out around the cabin.

  I spent the weekend here to celebrate my 30th birthday, decompress, and enjoy all the Big Sur has to offer. Embree is a fabulous host and the cottage is amazing. It was nice to be able to cook meals, eat on the upper deck, watch the sunrise and sunset, take extra long baths and relax in all the surrounding beauty. There are several beautiful beaches within close driving proximity up and down the coast. I definitely look forward to returning in the future and miss it already. I highly recommend spending time here!

  THIS WAS A SUPRISE GET AWAY,MY WIFE HAD NO IDEA.WE COULD NOT BELIEVE OUR EYES WHEN WE SET FOOT INSIDE, THE MAGIC WAS EVERYWHERE,THE WRAP AROUND WINDOWS VIEWS OF THE REDWOODS THE SPIRAL CEMENT STAIRWAY TO THE LOFT WITH VIEWS TO THE HEAVENS,THE BED AND PILLOWS THAT YOUR BODY MELTS INTO,THEN THE CAST TUB WOW ALSO A NEVER ENDING SUPPLY OF HOT WATER .AND SHOWERING OUTSIDE IN THE REDWOODS WAS AN EXPERIENCE MY WIFE AND I WILL NEVER FORGET.THE UPPER DECK WAS AMAZING FOR SUN BATHING,DINNER,STAR GAZING,AND BREATHTAKING SUNSETS,WE WILL BE GOING BACK....

  We had a wonderful two night stay at the cabin. The location is quiet and private and within easy driving distance of Carmel and all the Big Sur sites. Inside, the cabin itself is cozy and tastefully done with views out through the redwoods to the ocean beyond. And the outdoor shower...that alone was worth the drive from San Francisco! I definitely recommend this place and would stay there again without hesitation.

  Up in the trees, no internet, no TV no phones who could ask for more. We enjoyed the solitude the comfort of using an old pattern not used these days....talking. I have been married to this fantastic man for 35years and sometimes its just to busy to talk we had the time and had a blast. The cabin was comphy and cozy and the weather (raining on and off) made the memory even better. We walked in the rain, we lunched at Post Ranch Inn. The whole weekend was fantastic.

  My wife & I enjoyed several days here a few months before our twins arrived. So peaceful and just what we were after. The drive in and the views in the forest are amazing. The cabin was clean and had all we needed. We will be back! Thanks for the retreat.
