Brambleberry is a luxurious three-and-a-half acre estate in the heart of Sonoma’s Valley of the Moon bordering vineyards, near renowned wineries and centrally located for wine country touring in the Sonoma, Napa, Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys. In fact, Brambleberry was featured in a recent article in Travel + Leisure magazine. The author chose Brambleberry as his base for touring all of Sonoma County!
Brambles of wild blackberry border the property. Guests delight in blackberry picking in late summer and early fall. The bucolic, park-like setting includes a seasonal creek lined with majestic oaks and a seasonal pond. This private, quiet Sonoma vacation rental, on level grounds appealing to all ages, is reached by a long, tree-lined and gated driveway. The 3+ bedroom, traditional farmhouse-style home has a wonderful wraparound veranda that provides a cooling retreat in the summer heat. Take in pristine views of nearby Sugarloaf, the landmark Sonoma Valley peak, while luxuriating in the heated pool or custom spa.
The 2600 square foot wine country vacation home has been thoroughly remodeled and updated yet has kept its vintage style, with high-end fixtures and appointments throughout. Ceilings range from 9 feet to over 12 feet high. Furniture has been chosen for comfort and includes numerous antique and period pieces. Antique prints, oil paintings and unique handmade treasures decorate the house. Brambleberry is fully handicapped accessible and is equipped with access ramps, an elevator and an accessible full bath.
Serious and casual chefs alike will delight in Brambleberry’s large designer kitchen, which has been featured in Better Homes and Gardens. Its dining nook seats ten and overlooks the pool. Luxury appliances, including a massive Wolfe six-burner range and oven and Thermador convection oven, are complemented by granite counter tops, a marble baker’s counter, a center island ideal for gourmet meal preparation and high-end cookware and dishware. Adjoining the kitchen, the formal dining room has a beautiful trestle dining table and an office area also overlooking the pool. Keep in touch during your wine country escape with the well equipped office, with generous work space, high speed internet/Wi-Fi, guest computer and printer/copier/scanner/fax. From the dining room enter the large, inviting living/family room with fireplace of local field stone surrounded by ample seating. When it’s cool, build a roaring wood fire in the high-efficiency, clean-burning fireplace insert. Luxuriate in the fire’s warmth as you converse, enjoy a book or take in a movie on the theatre-like 60” plasma TV. Step outside through French doors to the wraparound veranda furnished with comfortable rocking chairs and vintage wicker and bistro seating. Also on the ground floor are a den, two half bathrooms, and a large finished mudroom/laundry room that gives easy access to the outdoor living area, pool, spa and bocce court.
Brambleberry can sleep up to 10, although we contemplate that large groups will include small children and not more than seven adults. Upstairs are three spacious bedrooms, all with views. The master has a king and a twin, one guest room has a queen and the second guest room sleeps four with a queen and trundle bed. The den downstairs sleeps two with a trundle sleigh bed and sliding doors for privacy. The master bath has a large stall shower and a freestanding clawfoot bathtub. The guest bath has a shower-tub combination.
The beautiful estate-sized pool has been completely remodeled, with automatic salt chlorination for comfort and an automatic recessed child safety cover that also keeps it clean and warm. The solar heating system can be supplemented by gas heat (by prior arrangement and at cost) in cooler months if desired. A custom stone spa is available for enjoyment year-round. Enjoy a warm outdoor shower after a swim or soak in the spa. A custom bocce court with premium Har-Tru surface measuring 12 feet by 65 feet, provides hours of fun for all ages. Comfortable outdoor seating on the patio and pool deck, extensive lawns and mature shade trees provide the perfect setting for outdoor dining and relaxation.
Brambleberry is fully equipped for young children including two Pack 'n Plays, high chair, stroller and baby monitors. A full collection of ride-on toys and wagons can be made available as well. Other amenities include two-zone high-efficiency central air and gas heat, water purification system for the house and the pool, double-paned windows, automated security system, computer with high speed internet access and Wi-Fi, three TV's (including 60” plasma HDTV) on cable with DVD/VCR, gas grill, croquet, horseshoes, bocce ball, ping pong and basketball.
Because this is our family country home we discourage large rental parties or heavy entertaining. We wish not to disturb our neighbors in this peaceful, private area. By prior arrangement, a limited number of day guests may be considered.
Brambleberry’s sophisticated, well-appointed indoors appeals to discerning adults; its outdoors is a paradise for children of all ages.
Brambleberry is a luxury Wine Country House - a Sonoma Valley retreat that is sure to be part of many happy memories.

Grand Adventures in the Breathtaking Wine Country of Sonoma, CA
The drive to Brambleberry in Sonoma, CA was breathtaking and beautiful as we passed vineyard after vineyard. Upon my arrival, I was greeted warmly by the owner who took the time to acquaint me with all the amenities this property has to offer.
Brambleberry was the perfect getaway for our entire bear family. The solar heated pool, custom stone hot tub, outdoor shower with hot & cold water, ping pong table, hammock, porch swing and multiple tree swings provided us with endless fun. The owner also mentioned that a bocce ball court is being prepared for future guest enjoyment. There was outdoor patio seating for coffee in the morning and a picnic table with ample seating for lunches in the afternoon. There were movies, music and games for all ages. The owner also provides two pak-n-plays and a baby monitor for those young cubs that come to stay.
The wine country in Sonoma, CA was more beautiful than I imagined. We toured the Benziger Vineyards and the cool wine caves where the wine barrels are stored. We also had a chance to visit Imagery Vineyards near Arrowood all within 10 miles of the Brambleberry property. We found it very convenient that most of the vineyards were easy to locate off the main highway through town.
You have Santa Rosa, Calistoga, 12 vineyards, many dining options, the only Petrified Forest in CA, and so much more within 15 miles of this amazing rental property. Come and see for yourself all the beauty and adventure Brambleberry & Sonoma, CA has to offer!

We spent a wonderful, long weekend at Brambleberry. There was a total of 4 adults and (2) sets of kids ages 5 and 8 in our party. The house and grounds were so amazing that we really didn't need to leave the property, but local amenities were all nearby including Annadale Start Park for a morning hike (we walked there with the kids), Safeway for late night emergencies, wine tasting and kid friendly dining (although Sonoma county is known to have many fine dining options). The house was very comfortable (especially the beds), and well stocked from the kitchen items to the pool toys. We tried to get the kids to sleep together, and there was plenty of room for musical beds at night. We all enjoyed the pool in the mornings and afternoons, as well as the rest of the property for biking, soccer, baseball, and basketball to lying in the hammock and swinging on the swings. There was plenty for the kids to do, which makes for a very enjoyable time for the adults. The moms were able to duck out for a Sonoma Mission Inn spa excursion (5 hours, not that anyone was keeping track...but the dads). The communication with the owners before, during and after our stay was great. They were very accommodating to our needs, and provided excellent local recommendations. We would definitely recommend this home to others, and we hope to come back again soon. Brambleberry is a true home away from home.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

After 4 trips to wine country, we decided to rent a house instead of staying in a hotel. We actually rented a home when we found Brambleberry. The decor was so relaxing - the kitchen was bright, well equipped, and complete with lovely dinnerware; the bedrooms were bright and inviting with comfortable beds, with co-ordinating bedding and some amazing antiques; the living room was spacious with a large big screen tv and a leather chair and ottoman that was an ideal reading space for a good book after a day of tastings. We also got to see spring awakening outside. Each day there seemed to be new flowers blooming. Sitting by the pool with a glass of wine was a good way to end the day. I knew immediately how much Kathleen loved their home the first time I spoke with her. She was so helpful and answered all of my questions promptly. We never would have visited some of the area wineries and restaurants without her recommendations and we were never disappointed. One of the hi-lites fo the trip was MacCleod winery next door. We got a tour from the owner who took us into his vineyand and explained the growing process and entertained us with tastings on his patio. Don't miss Brambleberry.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

My husband and I went to Brambleberry with our two young boys (5&7) this February and had the most wonderful time. In fact, we extended our stay the day before we were suppose to return home because 5 days was just not enough time. The home was so lovely and welcoming. My boys spent the majority of the the time in the pool (which we had heated) and playing in the extensive lawns and bocce court. Hiking, wine tasting, and just relaxing filled our week. We have never seen so many movie DVD to choose from! I loved the master bedroom so much that I am currently painting our home bedroom to a similar color. We can't wait to go back! Thanks so much to Kathleen and Rob. They were very responsive to any questions we had during our stay. What a peace of heaven.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family had the INCREDIBLE blessing of having a week at this ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HOME!Definitely NOT a house, it's A HOME! AND its' on glorious private rambling property! I am ALREADY at the calendar, trying to figure out how we can go back this Fall! Although, a week at Brambleberry in the Summer could not have been more PERFECT! I travel for business, literally around the globe. So as seasoned traveler, I can honestly say that I speak from experience LOOK NO FURTHER - I believe MOST are looking for THIS! I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else! You almost get the sense that this home has it's own Heart and Soul! From the Porch Swing on the GREAT Wrap-Around Porch & it goes ALL the way around the Home To the Breathtaking Views To the Priceless Privacy I say in my humble opinion, IT TRULY DOES NOT GET BETTER THAN THIS! I would highly recommend that you stop right now and if you are lucky enough as we were, AND if this home is available for desired dates, JUST BOOK IT! When vacationing, we always seek homes for our accomodations. Years ago stopped hotels & we will never go back. We have had some great and not so great experiences - - BUT, THIS was one of the GREAT ONES! Staying at this INCREDIBLE Home ALL together allowed us as a FAMILY to TRULY Bond & Be Together, Yet have our Own Space! When it was time to leave, We ALL loved it SO MUCH that NONE OF US WANTED TO LEAVE TO GO TO SAN FRAN! So we stayed 2 more days! Our kids are grown so our time is less w/each all having busy lives! This Vintage Feel yet, with Modern influences is THE perfect Mix & Style! LOVED the Kitchen AMAZING, HIGH-END, PERFECT! My husband and I are fortunate to get the whole family together & it was PERFECT Place to just RE-CONNECT w/the kids. I am VERY picky when it comes to finding the right home when we vacation! My search goes on forever! The home just has to be "just right" in EVERY WAY for us to stay! THIS HOME WILL NOT DISAPPOINT! The owners, Rob and Kathleen, couldn't be Nicer or More Accommodating if they tried! If you are looking for a TRULY SPECIAL PLACE that has COMFORT & CHARACTER & that gives open space to roam as this home is on acreage - PLUS it absolutely IS THE perfect location for Anything & Everything you would come to this area to do! You will feel At Home here, yet feel a sense of sleek style! It has everything you need or would HOPE FOR & QUALITY everything, right down to the sheets and bedding! Bringing Kids? They will THANK YOU!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Brambleberry proved to be the absolute perfect choice for a family vacation for a couple of East Coast foodies and their adult children who also appreciate fine wine and fantastic food. Strategically located on a quiet road, this tastefully decorated and gracious home served as command central for visits to the many amazing wineries and restaurants in Sonoma and Napa Counties. Well maintained and spacious, this home had everything you would want in a wine country retreat. The salt water pool and generous porches provided the ideal respite after a tough day of sampling pinot noir! Not to mention the beautiful mountain views and flora. Would go back to Brambleberry in a heartbeat.Highly recommend this beautiful property.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We always dreamed of spending a week with our family at a beautiful house to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The dream came true! Brambleberry was wonderful in every way. Our grandchildren were energized by the experience , and our sons and daughter's in law will always remember their week in Kenwood. The house and grounds were exceedingly well appointed, a perfect pool, bocci ball court and spa. Top quality bed linens and kitchen equipment made everything perfect for us. The pool security cover and lots and lots of toys made it so much fun for the young children and gave us the piece of mind to enjoy it all. ( Great hiking and wine tasting so close by) We felt that Brambleberry was a real home , treated with love and great care. We can't wait to return in coming years. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I recently stayed at Brambleberry for a long weekend as part of a group of 7 women friends from college (plus one infant), and everyone agreed it was a piece of heaven on earth. The house itself was beautiful and comfortable for so many adults with multiple areas for small groups to congregate or individuals to sneak away with a book. (We felt it could have easily accommodated up to 9 adults, but then people would have had to share beds.) Our group spent hours and hours laughing and relaxing, sitting together on the veranda, walking around the property, lounging by the pool or in the hot tub. We're also a group of dedicated foodies, and the spacious, well appointed kitchen (with two ovens and lots of counter space) afforded us the opportunity to prepare delicious meals together and socialize in the kitchen while doing so. We especially appreciated all the dining options: large kitchen table, large dining room table, large picnic table outdoors. The veranda wraps around the house, and so we were able to use it for multiple purposes: sunrise yoga, a station for the massage therapist we called in one afternoon, a conversation corner. The owners were wonderful about providing suggestions for local services and activities, although we found the house and grounds so alluring that we canceled our wine tasting plans and spend the entire time at Brambleberry -- or anywhere we could travel by foot. We would definitely return to Brambleberry for future gatherings of this group. And a couple of us are scheming for a return visit together with our families, since the house is so well geared for kids of diverse ages (although you'd want to bring a baby gate if you have a fast crawler or toddler unfamiliar with stairs). The owners keep a stash of baby supplies (monitor, high chair, pack & play, etc.), and there are toys for all ages, both inside and outside (tricycle, etc.). We loved the wide selection of literary fiction on the bookshelves and the movie collection (although we were too busy chatting to watch movies) was enticing. I mean: BBC Pride & Prejudice miniseries...what's not to love? And if you come with elderly or disabled people in your group, there are ramps up to the veranda and an elevator to the upstairs level.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This is the second time our family has been fortunate enough to stay at this beautiful home. The kids look forward to it as much as the adults. The owners have taken great time and attention to every detail when it comes to both the inside and outside of their lovely property. Inside is warm, comfortable and cozy. The kitchen is a main gathering spot for all. Preparing and enjoying Thanksgiving dinner was an absolute joy. Some of the best meals and conversations occurred over a delicious meal at the large, bright breakfast nook, overlooking the stunning back yard. Bedrooms and inside living space are open, welcoming and include all amenities. As much as we appreciated the indoors, the outdoor property was beyond perfect for our brood of boys ages 5 - 15. The addition of the bocce ball court was a favorite among our entire group - kids and adults alike. There is no shortage of ways to enjoy the outside grounds. Ping pong, bocce, bike riding, skateboarding, basketball, and a expansive grass area equals limitless fun. We held our second "family Olympics" again this past stay. Complete with soccer, football, 9-hole golf, plus all the above aforementioned. Wrap-around porches allowed for quiet reading and contemplation, while watching kids hunt for frogs, and enjoy the pool and hot tub. I don't think there is an ounce of the property we didn't explore, enjoy and appreciate. A perfect stay with memories that last a lifetime. Thank you!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

If you are looking for the most relaxing, welcoming, warm family home to rent in the Sonoma area, look no farther. Brambleberry was the spot we called home for the week of our daughter's wedding. You feel as if you are staying in a friend's house...spice drawer full, computer available, bedding warm and cozy, surroundings picturesque. The property is clean, incredibly well supplied (especially for families with children), quiet and comfortable. The owners obviously care for their property and they care for the ones who rent it. They were accessible for questions, thorough with the paperwork, pleasant to deal with and prompt with the return of the security deposit. This home helped to make the wedding week all the more special as it lends itself to quality family time and wonderful memories. If you don't relax at Brambleberry, I'm not sure you would relax anywhere. Thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful home. We'll be back !!!Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, girls getaway.

We rented Brambleberry for a family get-together and we had a fantastic time. We had 3 small kids and 6 adults in the party and everybody really loved it. The home and the grounds were very well maintained and the home had everything to make our stay very comfortable. The area around Brambleberry is beautiful with many great wineries just a few miles away - just driving around the area and taking in the beauty was very relaxing. The kids had a blast playing in the pool and around the house. With young kids, we probably spent a bit more time at home than we intended to but even just spending time at Brambleberry was very relaxing and there is enough to do. We would definitely go back if we plan another vacation in the CA wine country.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
