A one floor 1950's cottage completely updated in 2008. Inside, the bedroom features a queen sized bed with a twin chamber adjustable Sleep Number mattress. A frosted skylight in the bedroom ceiling adds soft light throughout the room. Two-tone (rosewood and beach) Art Deco bedroom furniture compliment the room. A whisper quiet Panasonic room air conditioner is in the bedroom and the bed has an adjustable heated mattress pad for those chilly high desert nights. Views from the bedroom look south to Big Bear Mountain and north to rocky foothills that reflect the moon’s glow. The bathroom includes a full-sized tub with shower and features green glass wall tiles. The kitchen has a built-in microwave, ceramic (burner less) cooktop and full-sized oven. A full-sized refrigerator compliments the all new cabinetry and green granite countertops. The kitchen is equipped with cookware, plates, cups, utensils, toaster, and coffee maker. The four seat dining table is near the wood burning stove and leads into the living room. The living room has a microfiber queen-sized sleeper sofa, lounge chair, flat screen TV with CD/DVD/Radio. The kitchen, dining, and living rooms are equipped with swamp cooler ventilation and electric based board heaters (depending on the climate). The entire cottage and outdoor patio provides access to a private wireless internet service.
Outside you will find near total privacy with 5 acres of high desert landscape home to rabbits, birds, ground squirrels, and various other critters. Plenty of off-street parking is available. A full-sized washer and dryer are available in the casitas behind the cottage. A walled and gated patio on the north side of the cottage sports a picnic table, Adirondack chairs, fire chimenaya, propane gas grill, and four person hot tub that is always hot, clean, and ready to ease your travel weary bones and muscles.
A perfect hide-a-away for those wishing to get away but who also desire to be close to all the necessary amenities of modern daily life.

Year Purchased: 2007
I purchased and renovated this unique high desert get-a-away as a place to escape from my daily routine (when I can get away)! I live on the lower valley floor outside of Palm Springs and commute to Los Angeles frequently. My life and work requires a quiet place where I can, on occasion, be undisturbed. Having grown up on a farm in southeast Ohio I crave open space without the constant intrusion of neighbors. This cottage and the surrounding acreage provides all this and more for me!
