The townhouse is well situated in a great neighborhoor very close to the restaurants and shops of shirlington village. The rental process and the property manager were easy to deal with. The place itself leaves a lot to be desired. The floors, kitchen, bathrooms and basement are dated and need to be renovated (considering the rental price). There is carpet in the basement bathroom which had mildew/mold on it. The floors are ragged and creaked. The furniture is old and the backyard seemed unkempt. The property is not well suited for families with young children as you have to contend with a staircase to get to the front door. Overall, our stay was OK, but we believe the place is over priced and could use a comprehensive renovation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a convenient stay. Shops and restaurants are less than a mile away. The bus brings you 3 times an hour to the Pentagon station. The house was clean and the airco worked well in a hot August week. Parking in front of the house was no problem.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children.

We stayed at this townhouse for a week in May 2012 and were extremely pleased with everything. It was so nice to come home every evening and have a quiet dinner after all of the excitement in the city. In my opinion, a townhouse is ideal for a family with children versus staying in a hotel. So much more room compared to a hotel room at about the same cost. There is a school with a playground just around the corner and a community swimming pool for your enjoyment. Shirlington Center is just a short walk away and has a grocery store (Harris Teeter) as well as several dining options available. You have a patio complete with propane grill if you feel like throwing a steak on in the evening. There is a bus stop literally right out of your front door and after about a ten minute ride you are at the Pentagon Metro station. From there it is another 10 minutes on the yellow line to the Smithsonian Metro. We felt completely safe in this wonderful community and would recommend this townhouse to anyone planning a trip to DC. The property manager was extremely friendly and everything went so smooth.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children.
Owner response: Although we are not given the option to review our tenants, this family was one of our easiest to host. They respected the property and furnishings and left the townhouse in great shape! I wish all our tenants were as respectful of the property and easy to host.

We had a FANtastic time while visiting the area!:) It is always hard to imagine on the reviews that talk about being close to transportation and restaurants but everything is right on! The people are so friendly and helpful! Our daughter lives in this area nad we definitly would rent this place again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with young children.
Owner response: We love to receive reviews like this. We aim to make each visit a pleasant one for our guests as well as for us. We look forward to a repeat visit.

We were very pleased with our overall experience. The house was everything it was presented to be . It more than met our needs and was very well located for access into D.C. and other side trips. Also the property manager was a pleasure to work with. The highest compliment I can make is that when we come back in two years we hope we can stay hereRecommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children.

Our family of five (two couples and an 11 year-old) had a nice time at this apartment. Positive points: The location is excellent with easy access to buses, metro, and the Shirlington shopping area with great eateries and shopping. The kitchen is well equipped and the tv is easy to use. The property manager was very helpful and information was accurate. Lamps upstairs are fine. Negative points: The living room needs another chair, some end tables and a coffee table. The room is awkward to sit in for more than three people and even then there is only one small end table. Bedding does not fit the basement bed and that was frustrating. We raided the upstairs closet and did a little better. The place could be warmed up with some artwork. This lack of attention to detail has been typical of two of the three vrbo places where we have stayed. They're the little things that can make a big difference. As I said, we enjoyed our stay and there is much to recommend this quiet area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car.

We enjoyed our 2 week stay in this townhouse. It was a wonderful, quiet corner unit. The kitchen was well equipped, a grill with propane and tools for a BBQ, and plenty of towels and linens were provided. Our children especially liked having 2 pools near by to choose from and also a park playground very close by. There were plenty of restaurants and a grocery store only half mile away at Shirlington Village. The bus stop was at the corner, which took us directly to the metro. And a short metro ride to all the wonderful sights of DC. With the use of the Smartrip card for the bus and metro, it was very easy to travel around the city. I would highly recommend this unit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with young children.

Stayed a full week and enjoyed the location. Steps from the bus line to Pentagon Station (transfer point to the rail) Children enjoyed the pool and was enjoyable in the evening to sit out side on the patio. No power one night but got to meet the pleasant neighbors Grocery shopping nearby eliminated eating out every dayRecommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with young children.
Owner response: Dear Coralyn, Thank you for your glowing review. I appreciate you taking the time to write it for us. We try very hard to supply what our renters request and what we would like to see in a rental. I hope you return again soon. Sharlan Starr
