Welcome to High Dove Ranch. The High Dove is located in a beautiful mountain location with easy access to many of Colorado's natural wonders. Whether you are a horse owner, RV vacation explorer, hunter, fisherman, skier, hiker or just relaxing to take in the majestic views this is a place you will love to visit.
The ranch has easy access right on Highway 9, just 1 mile north of the little town of Hartsel. Walk to the renowned Platte River for gold medal fishing. There are four reservoirs located within a few minutes of the ranch for more fishing and boating excitement.
Sit on the balcony and watch the buffalo graze right across the road. Or best of all, bring along your horse and enjoy the many spectacular trails that are available all within easy distances. We offer pipe corrals for your horses to rest in after a day of riding pleasure. Bring your own feed, and buckets. We provide excellent well water. We do request that all visiting horses come with current Coggins tests, and vaccinations for the protection of all. We also welcome dogs, and have a nice enclosed yard with a kennel building for outside accommodations. If you like, we do allow inside dogs on approval with an additional charge.
Hunters will be happy to know that we can accommodate their needs, and have several hunting areas nearby.
The views from the ranch are breathtaking. Gaze upon the famous "14ers" across the valley. Buffalo Peaks Wilderness Area is a short 15 minute drive away for riding and hiking. Walk to the eastern ridge of the ranch and set your eyes on Pikes Peak where you can catch beautiful sunrises. If you desire to partake in some river rafting, or kayaking, the headways of the Arkansas River are just over the pass, about a 25 minute drive through beautiful Trout Creek Pass into the Buena Vista area. You will find miles and miles of ATV trails, and of course hiking in all these areas. The fun never ends!
After a full day of whatever adventure you have chosen, return home to the comfy ranch house, decorated in what else!- western theme. There's plenty of room for relaxing, and just taking in the great outdoors. Wildlife abounds, with elk, deer, buffalo, foxes, lynx, rascally coyotes, and lots of feathered friends making their homes here. Come on up for a visit, kick back and have yourself a wonderful time.

- 7 Horse corrals 12' x 24' pipe pens with grass hay available for purchase. Tack building provided. You must bring your own feed and water containers. We ask that you clean your manure to a designated spot near the corral area.

Rates include cleaning fee. Rental agreement required.
Additional guests $12/night for adults and $8/night for children.
Minimum 3 night stay. Rate includes up to 6 guests. Maximum 12 guests.
Deposit $225 to reserve 3 night stay and $500 deposit for week stay.
Dogs inside with owners approval $50 per dog. Outdoor dogs free.
Horses $12/night, you provide own feed. Grass hay available for $10/bale.
RV spaces available, no hookup. Cooking and laundry available small fee.

As a life long horse owner, the wide variety of trails and other types of activities drew me to this area. The stunning views, along with easy access, yet a private setting sold me on this ranch right away. After a day of hard work, or long riding, it's great to come home to relax and take in the splendor of nature. Ahhh- it doesn't get better than this!
The Unique Benefits of this Ranch House
The ranch is situated among an area of huge grazing pastures for buffalo, and all kinds of wildlife. We enjoy watching the elk, and deer that habitually move around the ranch area. There are eagles and hawks who make their nesting places on the ridge running at the top of the ranch property. In addition, there are several wildlife refuge areas nearby. You just can't beat the wide open mountain views in all directions. It is so easy to drive here, and yet it seems as if you are tucked away from man-made clutter. Serene and beautiful says it all.
