This family cottage was built in the late 1800's with lots of historic charm but has many upgrades such as a new roof, fresh paint, new carpeting, modern appliances and the most beautiful 40-foot screened in porch overlooking the St. Lawrence River and Boldt Castle. One end of the porch is off the kitchen and can seat up to 12 people, the other end of the porch has a nice sitting area for reading or enjoying the views. We also have a daybed on the porch for sleeping. We have an inside dining room with table to accommodate 8 people with views of the water. The lot is very private and is surrounded by mature trees. Down at the water there is a boathouse with docks on both sides. There is a covered sitting area on top of the boathouse for those who wish to enjoy the views while having your morning coffee or evening cocktails.
The house is also about 1 mile from the Thousand Island Country Club, a beautiful club with 36 holes of golf, a restaurant, a pool, tennis courts and a reputation for 1,000 Islands hospitality that goes back over 100 years. The club can be reached by either car or boat. The club has both dining and golf on the water.
At the other end of Wellesley Island, approx. 7 miles, there is a quaint community called T.I Park. The community has a large playground, library, ice cream parlor, outdoor movie theatre, shopping and restaurant.
Other things available nearby are: The largest fresh water antique boat museum in the the world, located in Clayton, NY approx. 10 miles away accessible by either boat or car. Alexandria Bay, also reachable by boat or car, located on the other side of Boldt Castle. The Bay has a drive-in movie theatre, restaurants, shopping, etc.

- Kid Friendly : VERY! So much for kids to do...all sorts of water activities, fishing, boating, hiking and so much wildlife to see. There is a Nature Center on Wellesley Island.

Our family absolutely loved this house and location. We had a wonderful family reunion/vacation with a combination of sibling families and generations, celebrating our son's wedding on Singer Castle in July. The screened porch and the boathouse were two popular hangouts. There was room for all of us to spread out, and a great dock for our boat. We loved touring Wellesley Island by car and by boat. And the views of Boldt Castle were stunning. Thanks for a memorable holiday!

This is the best overall vacation property (home) we have rented in ten years. We have 12-14 people each year and this home allowed everyone their space. The home is an excellent mix between maintaining the "cottage" charm while providing modern ammenities. The best features are the wrap around porch, the deck over the boathouse allowing for great views, and large yard for games or relaxing. The house is located to provide nice privacy but from the dock you can see the ships go by and the boaters. The fishing is good too? The owners are very accomodating and fair.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing, families with young children.

Million dollar view ! House is charming, location is perfect !! Best vacation our family has ever had. we could paddle boat to Boldt Castle. I would highly recommend.
