The Seahorse Beach House is by far the best overall value being offered in all of Gulf Shores. This three bedroom and two bath fully furnished beach home has been the destination of choice for many beach seekers over the past several years. We have many repeat guests every year with some coming in for months at a time. We feel that this is the ultimate compliment! We think that you will not find a better value anywhere in Gulf Shores.
Our private beach access, the shopping, the golfing, Civil War Fort Morgan-Alabama State Historic Site, the museums, the fishing, the restaurants, the concerts, the beaches, the Mobile Bay Ferry, the sunsets, and the National Shrimp Festival are all awaiting you! Our location is perfect. We are located in the private beach community of Surfside Shores right on the Fort Morgan peninsula. The Seahorse is Gulf side and is walking distance down (about four minutes) to the sugar white beaches! We are far enough away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Gulf Shores yet only a 15 minute drive into town. You get the R&R that you deserve but can still access all that Gulf Shores and Orange Beach has to offer.
GOLF-GOLF-GOLF! There must be 15 courses within 30 minutes away and two within 15 minutes away! Kiva Dunes (Jerry Pate-Developer) is only 1 mile away! The #1 voted best golf course in all of Alabama!
Looking to decompress? You can sleep in late here, throw a steak on the grill, and then take a walk on the beach. It's only a four minute walk down to our private beach access or you can drive it in 30 seconds and park at the beach. That's what we normally do since we can load up our beach supplies and just park at the beach. No loud music and crowds here in our private beach community. Looking to party or celebrate? Take your choice of all the attractions in Gulf Shores and nearby Orange Beach. Need to stay connected? An internet Wi-Fi hotspot is exactly one mile away. MOST of the time, however you can pick up a signal here at the Seahorse . Many love to visit the world famous Flora-Bama bar. Don't forget the annual Mullet Toss! Need a slot machine or blackjack fix? Biloxi, MS is just down I-10. It features no less than seven casinos featuring all of the Las Vegas casino games. The Beau Rivage (MGM property), The Hard Rock Casino and Cafe, and The Grand (Harrahs property) are the most popular. Need a history lesson? Fort Morgan and the Fort Morgan Museum is just five minutes away. It's the Civil War Fort famous for "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!" Need to get "gone fishing?" Fort Morgan Marina is only about five minutes away and have daily charters. The Fort Morgan Pier is a public fishing pier as well and it's only about five minutes away. It's a great place to take the kids and watch the boats unload their catch.

Flying in? Jack Edwards Airport is the local airport in Gulf Shores about 20 minutes away. Commercial flights are available in Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL.
****ATTENTION: A Wi-Fi internet hot spot is located just one mile down the road. If you have a wireless internet enabled laptop computer, you SHOULD be able to pick up this signal once you drive to this hot spot (one mile away). Also, there is a good chance too that you will be able to pick up a local signal at the house. We do not have an actual connection at the house but access is NORMALLY available.

- Charcoal BBQ Grill : Brand new BBQ grill just installed. It sits right beside our new concrete picnic table that is covered underneath the house. Bring charcoal, lighter fluid, and maybe a grill brush since ours sometimes disappears.

- Balcony : Back deck wraps around the back and side of home. We love to sit out here at night a view the countless stars! You have never seen stars like you can here becasue there are no city lights around to fade out our Milky Way. Bring your telescope or binoculars!

The Moores have spent all of their lives in Alabama and enjoy accommodating vacationers into the Gulf Shores / Fort Morgan area along with Lake Martin. We've been accommodating vacationers now for over 17 years. We own our rental homes so we take care of them and our guests the way they should be. It's all about "The Golden Rule" you know! We don't allow any management agencies and/or companies to rent out or manage our properties. We do all of this ourselves. This allows us to keep our rates low and to customize and deliver our personal touch to each and every guest!
Why the Owner Chose Surf Side Shores
GOLF-GOLF-GOLF!! There must be at least 15 golf courses within 30 minutes away and two are within 10 minutes away! The World Famous Kiva Dunes Golf Course (Voted #1 course in Alabama and Jerry Pate developed) is only ONE MILE away! You gotta play Kiva Dunes!
BIRD LOVERS: The Alabama Birding Coastal Trail has a stop in Fort Morgan.
CIVIL WAR and HISTORY BUFFS: The Mobile Bay Civil War Trail. Fort Morgan State Park. "Damn the torpedoes. Full speed ahead!" You can almost hear the command of Admiral David Farragut as he led his troops into the battle of Mobile Bay. Today Fort Morgan is a testament to the evolution of American coast defense fortifications from 1834 to World War II. It's a history lesson waiting to be explored. Some regard it as "one of the finest examples of military architecture in the New World". Fort Morgan was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960. In 2007 it was listed as "one of the nation's 10 most endangered battle sites" by the Civil War Preservation Trust in History Under Siege: A Guide to America's Most Endangered Civil War Battlefields. Just 6 miles away! Then take the Mobile Bay Ferry over to see anther Civil War site, Fort Gaines. We think that this part of the Gulf of Mexico is "the last frontier" in that it has not been commercialized like Panama City, Destin, Pensacola, and even Orange Beach and Gulf Shores to an extent. You really feel like you are on your own private peninsula here! As one member of my family stated when we purchased our first property here, "Let's move here!".
The Unique Benefits of this House
Internet Wi-Fi Hot-Spot is nearby. (One mile away exactly) and many times you will pick up a signal at the house. Mobile Bay Ferry takes you over to Dauphin Island where you can then visit Fort Gaines, USS Alabama, and all of Mobile, AL. Biloxi, MS (Las Vegas of the South!) is just east of Mobile via I-10. Covered picnic table area under the house along with beach rinse-off shower area. Fort Morgan Museum and Civil War History just a few miles down the peninsula. Very private and family oriented beach community. Perfect environment for stargazers in that there are no city lights around. You can see stars for days! This is one of my personal reasons why I love this location! Fort Morgan Marina is five minutes away and has daily deep sea fishing charters. Come and watch the fleet unload their catch. Tacky Jacks is there too. Great food!

This is a great place to stay if you want to just hang out by the beach .or if you have young kids who need to run wild.

We had a wonderful last minute trip to the Seahorse. Derrik was great to work with and very accommodating. It was a short walk to the beach and once we got there, it was as if we had it all to ourselves! Our dog greatly enjoyed his first trip to the beach as well!

My family and I had a wonderful stay and that we would readily recommend this Gulf Beach rental to any of our friends or family. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the beach and the surrounding area. We had the opportunity to visit the Ft. Morgan museum, which I really enjoyed, in addition to some local Putt putt golf courses and amusement parks. Admittedly, we got too much sun the first days there however rebounded well. The rental provided the perfect base to have some summer family fun. Plenty of room for my wife, myself and our three children. An excellent vacation stay!

My wife and dog and I truely enjoyed our 2 month stay here last winter(Jan 15th till March 15th). The owner is very helpful,making sure everything is to your satisfaction. It was our first time in Gulf Shores, a great place to get away from the cold Iowa winters. I recomend this to anyone who wants a very clean and well furnished and stocked place. If you are looking for a vacation rental in the Gulf Shores/Fort Morgan area, then the Seahorse is for you. It is located in a super quiet neighborhood and just a short walk or drive to the beach. We drove and parked down by the beach access every day since we had umbrellas, chairs, coolers, etc. This was no problem at all. Also, the owner gave us free access to two pools at his other rental just about a mile or so down the road. This was a great perk of renting the Seahorse, especially if you have kids who love the pool! The three bedroom, two full bath house was exceptionally clean and had all the amenities of home. The full size washer and dryer were a plus and it was nice not having to do laundry when we got home! After a full day of sun and fun, we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evenings where we enjoyed the gulf breeze, listening to all the sounds of nature, and star gazing. I can't ever remember seeing so many stars! When we weren't lying out on the beautiful beach (we saw no oil when we were there in June) or swimming in the pool nearby, we were shopping at the Outlet mall in Foley or the boutiques in Orange Beach and eating seafood every night (DeSoto's in Gulf Shores is our favorite...love the crab legs)! There's so much to do in the Gulf Shores/Foley area. Plus, Pensacola or Biloxi are not that far away if you have the time for a day trip. Historic Fort Morgan is a must-see. It's amazing all the historic events that happened in this area! Be sure to take time to visit the USS Alabama in Mobile, too. It's a National Historic Landmark. If you have time, visit the quaint town of Fairhope with its antique and specialty stores. Please book your vacation today with this owner. He's a super nice guy and really easy to work with. Let's do all we can to support the people of the Gulf Coast. They need our help now more than ever!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this house. It was very comfortable and convenient to the beach. The neighborhood was quiet and very relaxing.
