Recent cancellation of Christmas/New year's Weeks now available !!! The ocean view is spectacular from this marine artist's beautiful 3 1/2 bedroom and 2 bath home located on a very private cul-de-sac on the hilltop overlooking the harbor of Isabel Segunda and across to the main island of Puerto Rico and the islands of St Thomas and Culebra. There is a lovely screened in porch and a large open terrace where you can have your morning coffee and watch the fishing boats and ferries. This is a peaceful retreat; listen to the sound of the ocean and the coquis (peeping frogs). We have just purchased this property after many years of renting it.
The sunsets from the large open terrace are magnificent. The house is just a couple minute walk to a small sandy beach and great snorkeling.
On the top floor is a spacious living room, the kitchen, a dining area and the porch(alternate outdoor dining), a master bedroom with a king bed, 2 smaller bedrooms, each with twin beds, 2 bathrooms, and a laundry area with washer/dryer. On the lower level, with a separate entrance, is a large bedroom with queen bed and en suite bath.

Six of us stayed at Alma Vista recently. We had stayed there a few years ago when it had different owners. This very well kept villa has exceptional privacy along with amazing views of the main island, Culebra, St Thomas, the Vieques lighthouse, the ferries coming in and going out. It has a roomy piazza where we ate most of our meals. We would have liked a gas BBQ but we cooked some great meals in the charcoal one. The new owners have added a tv, internet, painted inside and fixed everything up with new linens and kitchen gear. We love this little piece of paradise and will be back again this winter. We think the value of this property on Vieques is hard to beat!!

We have had an awesome stay. The house is everything that it says it is - well-located and comfortable with big sunny deck and great view on the prot and the water. Sunsets that had us taking pictures every night and privacy. The kitchen was all equipped, there were books, and wifi. The owners sent us lots of good info before we arrived, and the house manager Kikito met us and showed us around the house. We locked ourselves out and he came right over too. The nearest beach is about a 4 minute walk and we walked into town for sundowners and to see the people lining up in the morning for hot bread. We rented a Jeep and hit most of the beaches which are better than anywhere we've ever been. We'll be back and we will return to Alma Vista - this is a real find and very good value. We were only 2 people but it could have had 6-7 easily. We would recommend this.

We had a great time here - the house was spacious and comfortable and we loved to have our sundowners with the beautiful sunsets spread out for us to see from the big deck, where we spent a lot of time. There is a family of resident iguanas down the slope where the lawn stops and the trees and tall grass start - look for them in the afternoon. we went to the local beach swimming most mornings - 2 of us before breakfast, then often took the Jeep to blue beach. We also explored all the little roads - loved the one that goes across the island from near the mosquito pier. we will come back - we appreciated the reference books and the puzzles too.

This was our first visit to Vieques. The owers sent out lots of info before our arrival and that was very helpful. Alma Vista's house manager met us at the ferry and took us to the house - we rented a jeep from him too, at a good rate. The house was large and comfortable for 3 couples and the deck was fabulous. Everything we needed in the kitchen, washer/dryer in the house very handy. We loved the sound of the coqui frogs at night, and even taped them. Blue beach was our favorite beach, and we also found very good snorkeling next to Mosquito Pier. One couple took an early morning swim and snorkel at the local beach every day. We all liked to walk into town in the evening and stroll like the locals... We hope to come back and would return to this house.

We spent 2 weeks in March here - the new owners have added wifi, TV, new kitchen appliances, and it was very comfortable for the 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 older children. We spent a lot of time on the terrace - breakfast, sundown (amazing sunsets, amazing view) evening meals and depending on when we went exploring, lots in between. We used the wifi on the terrace too. We loved the Vieques beaches and the little roads. Kitchen was well equipped, with a new stove and staples like spices and oil, which was great. There are some good reference books, and artwork all around, and it felt like a nice comfortable place to stay. We hope to come back.

While this house was comfortable, it lacked certain items that I would have liked in a vacation home. There was no tv, dvd or internet access, which given the fact that there is not much to do at night in Vieques, was a drawback. There was no toaster, coffee maker was old and rusty, stove did not work well, and most pots were in bad condition. Otherwise the house was spacious and in a good location. We did not use the bedroom on the lower level, which flooded in the rain.
Owner response:We agree with much of what this visitor says! We have just purchased the house, and have done a number of upgrades, including installing satellite TV, cable internet with wifi, unlimited calls to the US, new kitchen stove, microwave, toaster oven, small appliances, dishes,linens... We have put in a new Queen bed in the separate downstairs unit. We haven't done anything to the wonderful view!
