When we started researching places to rent for our spring vacation, this rental was one we kept coming back to. The detailed description of the rental, amenities, house layout etc. made our decision that much easier. Add in Linda's great advice and assistance with the booking, we couldn't be more excited for our trip! When we arrived, the house was exactly as it was described. The pictures provided on this site are very accurate! There were no shortage or towels, kitchen supplies, blankets - every detail was looked after. Having the wood burning fireplace was nice in the evenings. As a family with two small girls, we utilized the upstairs the most and loved having the satellite TV since most days it rained and the TV was a good break!! Having laundry facilities in the house was amazing as was the option of having two bathrooms - one with a shower stall, the other with a bath tub. To top off how well this rental fit out needs, being able to bring along our dog was an added bonus. She LOVED the beach!! We loved walking along the beach and watching the waves from the upstairs area of the house....but also watched the waves from downstairs too! We enjoyed seafood at the South Beach Fish Market down the street, took in the two lighthouses close by (Yaquina Head is more spectacular than Yaquina), strolled the old bayfront and enjoyed a great meal at Rogue Brewhouse (kid friendly). We did go to the Newport Aquarium and it had some great things to see but compared to our aquarium at home, we were slightly disappointed. We did some shopping at the Lincoln City outlets and also shopped a bit at the Woodburn outlets on our way home. Our entire experience was extremly positive. The owners were very helpful and responsive and so easy to work with! We will be back.....hopefully when the sun shines more and we can make use of the fire pit, deck and deck chairs! A beautiful and immaculate home in a perfect location. Although there are neighbors, the home feels selcuded and private. There is a sturdy and safe stairway to the beach on the property and the view from the home is spectacular. The owners are friendly and responsive and the transaction details are handled in a courteous and professional manner. We've stayed in many nice Oregon coast rentals and this one may have been the very best.

Private, Quiet, Relaxing, Amazing Ocean Views and Access

I cannot say enough good things about the owners. They were gracious, extremely easy to communicate with and seem to honestly enjoy sharing thier love for the Oregon Coast with all the people who have been fortunate enough to find them and rent thier great vacation beach home. There were things on my list that were a must for our visit to the Oregon Coast and the American Dream had everything on the list, inlcuding (and most importantly) dog friendly, private, amazing unobstructed ocean views with private access to a long stretch of amazing beach, big comfy beds, a hot tub, big screen tvs to curl up in front of at the end of the day and still very close to all Newport has to offer. We could not have found a better place to spend our 10th anniversary relaxing and enjoying the serenty of it all. Since it is a beach house and is dog friendly it is not pristine or pretencious, just a big comfy place where you can lounge around all day in your sweats, kick your feet up and settle in for a nice stay with your pooches. My husband and dogs went beachcoming 2-3 times a day everyday and never got bored and rarely saw another person on the beach, so the dogs ran in the sand and in the ocean until they literally dropped! The weather was fabulous. I think it was sunny 90% of our stay in late October, so we feel very lucky to have been so fortnate. I brought way too many clothes on the trip expecting wind, rain, storms, but it was really lovely. We BBQ's some steaks, chicken and a roast on the charcoal grill and forgot how wonderful cooking with charcoal makes your food taste! Highly recommended to do some grilling! We look forward to another stay a the American Dream in the future and have already recommended it to several people. Rich and Linda will take good care of you and make sure your stay is wonderful.

We spent a week at the most wonderful American Dream beach house. The view is magnificent and had an added bonus of seeing a whale, starfish, sea lions, and met many very nice people on the beach. The kids played in the sand and went boogie boarding. It was a wonderful experience seeing the excitement in our grandchildren. Our youngest loved the hot tub and the aquarium where she saw a live shark....The beach house was so clean and lacks nothing. We will always remember this vacation. Would recommend this home to anyone. We would love to come back.....Thank you.

Saltwater withdrawl

Have just returned inland from the idyllic American Dream beach house & are already experiencing symptoms of saltwater withdrawl. Our 5 nights at South Beach were nothing short of decadent. The ocean view is to die for, the accommodations were indulgent & the Figenshu's were a dream to deal with. This rental is just like potato chips....you can't stay just once!

50th anniversary at the Oceanfront

We spent a week at this house overlooking the ocean. There were 14 of us including adults and children. We loved it and found it perfect for us. Highly recommend it! It had a path to beach and stairs that even us older ones could use. The kids loved all the games provided and all enjoyed the large hot tub.

We had a wonderful time at American Dream. The views were outstanding and the location was perfect for exploring the Oregon Coast. We loved the sea lions at the Newport Pier and the seafood was delicious. This really was a dream vacation for us. The sunsets and the full moon over the ocean at night were beautiful. Loved American Dream

Our family of 14 enjoyed a wonderful stay on the Oregon Coast at American Dream. The house was very clean and inviting. We had plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. We cooked many delicious meals in the fully stocked kitchen and enjoyed many other amenities. The best part was the magnificent view of the ocean and the beautiful beach where our children spent many hours playing in the sand. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in a beautiful setting. We look forward to returning soon.

Wonderful and Attention to Details

We had a large group (14), and had plenty of space to enjoy. We were welcomed with a very clean house, flowers and chocolates. The kitchen was well equipped, as well as many other household items available to make our stay there pleasant and comfortable. Plenty of towels... which was handy with many children. The hot tub is a must, and well worth the fee to know it was cleaned before and after. The view from the house was spectacular... even saw some whales. We met the owners on our way out... very nice people. All around wonderful!

It really was a dream come true..

We loved our stay at the house. The beds where so comfortable and there was enough space for 8 of us, could have had more really. We loved playing on the beach, sitting by the campfire and relaxing in the hot tub. We could not have asked for anything more. The location if perfect for daily trips to town and the Rogue Brewery. We even had a Foosball Tournament! I would recommend for any large group that wants to get away, have some space and enjoy being together! All of the listing information and pictures where spot on. Everything was very clean and there where plenty of homey touches to make the stay that enjoyable.

Fantastic Vacation

We spent a week in Newport for our family vacation. Our stay at American Dream was fantastic. The location was absolutely perfect and the beach access could not have been better, especially if you have an active dog that loves to run the beach and splash in the waves. Many of the other homes in the area do not have beach access, so it really felt like we were on a remote, private beach yet we were only a couple of minutes from downtown Newport. Having rented several vacation properties over the years, we really appreciated how comfortable and inviting the home was. All of the beds were extremely comfortable, and that's one risk that people taking renting a vacation home. The barbeque, fire pit, hot tub, and large screen TV all received a lot of use during our stay. While we were only a family of four + dog, the house would easily hold 2-3 families. There's so much to do in the Newport area. For the active type, I would highly recommend taking surfing lessons from Ossie's. You can also rent wet suits from their shop and then use them boogie boarding by the house. The Newport Acquarium was also a must-see. We will be back.

Perfect Place to Explore Oregon Coast

You can't beat waking up every morning to a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean in a spacious, comfortable, well-appointed home. The beach is just steps away and we only saw a handful of other people on it the whole time we were there. Plus it is huge! Our family did lots of side trips, like surf lessons in Cannon Beach, ATV riding on the sand dunes in Florence, tide-pool exploring at Seal Rock, and of course a visit to Yaquina Lighthouse and the Newport Aquarium. One of the coolest things about the Oregon Coast is the abundance of wildlife. We saw whales, sea lions, seals & their pups and tons of starfish. After grilling dinner, we'd end each day with a dip in the hot tub and make Smores on the fire pit. Whether you want to explore the coast or just relax in this beautiful property, this is a vacation spot you'll be sure to remember fondly!

Thanks you so much for letting our family stay at this unbeilable beach house. We had a blast! The house was clean and well taken care of. The steps to the beach were great and the fire pit for those nights on the beach were absolutely y amazing. The kids room was fun with the bunks and the foose ball table, what a great feature. The owners were great to work with and super friendly. We look forward to coming back next year.

What A Great Place!!!!!!

The "American Dream" is a wonderful getaway. Great view, great beach and a great house. We came all the way from Alabama to visit with our daughters and their husbands one from Seattle and one from Portland. It was worth the trip. This house is furnished with everything anyone could need. Excellent beds in all of the rooms. Great TV's and a good assortment of games. The foosball table is great even though I got killed. The Newport area is great, alot to see and do. If you are an airplane and space buff stop by the Evergreen Museum in McMinville and see the "Spruce Goose".

We brought our Girl Scout Troop for a fun weekend trip of horse back riding in Florence and a visit to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. We had plenty of room, a beautiful view and great accommodations for a large group of us! One great feature was the fire pit close to the house where we could do an outdoor cooking project and roast hot dogs and 'smores! Great beach access and beaturiful beach! Loved it!

What a great Christmas morning... Sitting with dogs, drinking coffee and watching the waves roll in. The best part, is when the sunlight finally rises and gives the waves a gorgeous pink tinge to them. American Dream had great amenities...private beach, unlimited fetching for the two golden doodles and just exploring all the nooks and crannies of the shoreline. The kids learned how to hunt for fossilized seashells and agates, and Seal Rock was great to explore. All in all, a memorable way to spend Christmas Days.
