Why the Owner Chose Ubud
Land was purchased in 2005 with the intention of building a retirement retreat. In 2009 Amori Villa was completed. It is bigger and better than it was in the dream. Ubud means healing. For those with busy lives, it is a paradise for an escape and a return to simple pleasures.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Amori is a 5-star boutique resort with uninterrupted and relaxing views over the Petanu River valley. This carefully-chosen location provides you with sounds of the river and a connection with Balinese village life, but with the facilities of the centre of Ubud only a few minutes away by car. Or you could walk. The design of Amori would suit groups booking the whole property; or couples wanting their own special holiday - romantic, relaxing, healthy, adventurous or whatever we can provide. Each of the four double (or twin) bedrooms has it own spacious bathroom. There is also a one-bedroom suite which can sleep 4, with a separate lounge area and balcony day bed. Amori is designed for those who enjoy sitting and reading cooled by the mountain breezes of Ubud; getting tanned and healthy swimming in the 14 meter infinity pool; or going for a morning walk through the village and along the rice paddies, followed by a relaxing fresh fruit juice and cooked breakfast. At night, our chef will prepare dinner by pre-order, or we will drive you to one of the excellent Ubud restaurants, and then pick you up afterwards. Of course, Bali (and Ubud in particular) is famous for its spas and massages. As our guests at Amori you should expect to be pampered. Massage and spa treatments are a skill and an art-form passed down through the generations. Amori offers the full range of spa services, both in-house and by special arrangement with well-chosen local Spas. Imagine yourself having a relaxing massage, herbal body wrap and scrub followed by a flower-petal bath - in an exotic Balinese setting. Rick & Peta Dunn are well-travelled Australians who have fallen in love with Bali, and Ubud in particular. Living in Perth, they manage to enjoy Amori Villa 3 or 4 times per year. With 5 double rooms each with its own entrance and space, there is room for all to share - family, friends and paying guests. The photo shows the Dunn family during Melaspas, the blessing ceremony for the property, in May 2009.

We had a very short stay in Amori in September and I cannot recommend highly enough. This is a BEAUTIFUL villa in a fabulous location. The staff who speak very good english are extremely polite and obliging and cannot do enough for you to meke your stay enjoyable. The rooms and especially the bathrooms are superb. If only we could have stayed longer. We will certainly be returning.
