We keep coming back!! Just like a home away from home. This third time here we took in a San Francisco city tour and the iconic show "Beach Blanket Babylon", which we highly recommend. Our winery highlight this time was the Castillo Di Amorosa ( Castle of Love)... That does indeed take u back to the medieval days. Also, highly suggest the Culinary Institute of America for a special treat. Perfect location...too much to do, not enough time. Guess we will have to come again. :-)

My husband and I spent three months in this comfortable, well furnished home in beautiful Napa/Sonoma wine country and we highly recommend it. After a day of visiting the nearby wineries and unique shops, it was great to come "home," pick a book from the extensive library provided or open a bottle of wine and relax on the patio with the friendly deer grazing on the golf course or resting under the big oak tree. The deer are not frightened by the golfers coming through, and the golfers do not seem to mind waiting for a mother deer leading her young fawns across a green. Needless to say, there are excellent retaurants here in the wine coutry, including the world-famous French Laundry. We liked Cafe Citti in nearby Kenmore for informal and very good Italian pasta dinners. We are tennis players, and the owners arranged for us to use Oakmont's friendly tennis courts. If you play golf, there are two public courses available for you. Or, you can get your exercse in Oakmont's state of the art Fitness Center. Bridge? there's that too! All in all, we enjoyed our stay here and we think you will too. Peter and Grace Boyle

We ended up having to take a quick last minute trip to visit relatives in Santa Rosa and Tom was able to accommodate our last minute weekend request. The place was terrific; exactly how he described it. It was very inviting with the number of books to sort through, all the lovely artwork and it had all the comforts of home so we didn't have to bring anything! There were 4 of us and with two bathrooms and two bedrooms, we had privacy but was able to enjoy leisurely meals in the dining room. We were even lucky enough to spot some deer in the morning feasting on their breakfast right outside the window! As mentioned, this is a very quiet residential area so if you're there to drink and party after visiting wineries, this place is probably not for you. But if you need a respite from all the winery visits, want a quiet respite from the hubbub - check this place out!

Owner response: Esther's description is perfect! It is very difficult to convince those deer to dine outside the window when new guests arrive. Fortunately, deer are seen pretty much daily at this little slice of heaven location. Thanks for your comments Esther, you and your family were perfect guests. Tom and Greta

Quaint detached unit on the golf course. The course is not crowded and makes for a leisurely game. There are dozens of wineries in the area. Several companies offer tasting tours. Wildlife stroll right off the patio throughout the day. The only stress felt on this trip was should we golf or visit the vineyards. Similar dilemma was encountered when picking from the great restaurants to dine. The unit sleeps 6 and is spacious enough for more than 6 to socialize so you can invite friends over for grilling or dinner.

Owner response: We like the dilemmas when the choice is to golf or visit winerys and having to choose from great restaurants. Thank you for the nice comment. Tom and Greta

Absolutely a perfect house for a vacation in the Wine Country. This home has all the modern conveniences to make your stay perfect. We just stayed for 8 beautiful days in late September. The home is a great place for one or two couples. The location is perfect for a wine & food vacation as the house is located just off highway 12, Sonoma is 25 min. away, Napa is 55 min, Healdsburg is 40 min, and Bodega Bay is only 1 hour. For the Golfer, the greens are very well kept and the whole area is very nice. My wife and I can recommend this home for a laid back vacation in the Wine Country with out any problems.

My husband and I spent the month of August and were very happy with our accomodations. The animals in the back yard described were a delight to view from the living room and patio area. The home was exceptionaly clean and a good size for 2 bedrooms. Very very quiet which I loved. The owner was a dellight to work with and is one of the reasons I decided to rent his home. The location was great because we were able to tour all of Napa and the Sonoma area plus was only 1 hour drive from San Francisco. Restaurants nearby in Glen Ellen were wonderful and the home is close to many wineries. Would recommend very much.

The listing and photos were accurate, it was actually more spacious than expected. The home was fully stocked and very clean. We did not have to supply anything except our own personal necessities.... local wines, cheese, fruit and bread :) I would definately recommend this property. It is in a beautiful, peaceful setting centrally located to allow easy day trips to surrounding areas. All just about a 1 hour drive away, we visited Healsburg, Jenner, SF city. So many more places to visit, we will have to go back, and we will definately stay here.

Mary Kay and I spent a fantastic week at Tom and Greta's place. We would definitely recommend their home for it's relaxed feel and close proximity to the fantastic Sonoma and Napa wine country. We ventured to the beautiful St. Frances and Chateau St. Jean wineries just down the road. I didn't get to play a round of golf but we went to the other course and had a very nice lunch and Mary Kay sat on the patio while I hit a bucket of balls. We also went to the nice town of Santa Rosa, Sebastapol and over to the ocean at Bodega Bay. If you want a nice vacation in a great homey setting with a golf course view... this is the place !!

What a great spot if you are over 55. The home was just as it was pictured and described on the internet. It is very well maintained and so easy to make yourself at home. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very clean and well stocked with all the necessities. When weather permitted, we greatly enjoyed dining on the patio or sipping a glass of wine while watching the wildlife. Hope you enjoy the deer, rabbits and quail as much as we did. The owners went out of their way to make us feel at ease and gave us plenty of helpful tips about the area. We found this location very convenient for exploring both Sonoma and Napa Counties. Several restaurants were outstanding: The Girl and the Fig in Sonoma, Maya in Sonoma, The Bistro in Healdsburg, Willie's Winebe Bar in Santa Rosa. If you want a burger, try Phylis's Big Burgers on Sonoma Highway. At the Ocean, eat at the "Tides." It is where they filmed Alford Hitchcock's "The Birds." (Great food and history.)

We found 407 Twin Lakes Circle to be a wonderful base from which to explore the Bay Area: San Francisco, coastal attractions, Sonoma and Napa wine country, and some great area restaurants. The accommodations are spacious, set in quiet surroundings, and provide a beautiful view of the adjacent golf course, the hills beyond, and, occasionally, even deer! What a calm and delightful scene to start and end a busy tourist?s day. Tom and Greta were very helpful and accommodating, and we are already looking forward to our return next year. This one?s a keeper!

Owner response: Arnold and Shirley were ideal guests. They stayed six weeks and are returning for two months in 2011. My partner Greta and I had the pleasure of meeting them in person at the end of their stay. We now have new friends from across the Border. Tom and Greta

Over Thanksgiving weekend in 2009, my extended family (ages 3 to 66) stayed here and found the home to be in excellent condition -- very clean and comfortable. The owner is easy to work with and kind. His attention to detail made the whole transaction understandable and easy to employ. The beds were all comfortable, as was the furniture in the living room. The kitchen was fully stocked with necessary equipment and dishes to satisfy our needs, even for a Thanksgiving meal. There's a great Mexican restaurant right near the complex that we enjoyed our first night of the stay. We look forward to returning there, as our daughter and family (including the three-year-old grandchild) live in Santa Rosa.

We spent five wonderful get-away days in this lovely house on the golf course last fall. I fell in love with the view and the location. The house had all the amenities we expected: clean rooms and comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, table on the patio for viewing sunsets, and a computer with access to the internet. The owners were most helpful in suggesting good restaurants nearby. Each morning we walked three miles along the golf course up to the Oakmont Inn, seeing many deer, rabbits, and egrets along the way. This is an ideal location for golfers with two courses at your doorstep. We enjoyed visiting the nearby St. Francis Winery tasting room and touring the Kunde Winery caves. There are many wineries in this area and a short drive will take you to top-rated restaurants in Kenwood (Kenwood Restaurant), Sonoma (Della Santina’s), and Napa (Don Giovanni). Healdsburg is a short 20 minute drive - along with the boutiques on the square, there is Charlie Palmer’s Dry Creek Kitchen as well as the Oakville Grocery. One special day we drove the Westside Road Wine Trail through the Russian River Valley. We will return soon to this wonderful centrally-located cozy house for more touring through the Wine Country.
