This lakefront cottage is located on 265 acre Crooked Lake in Clare County. It has everything Michigan has to offer within a reasonable distance for an enjoyable family vacation or romantic weekend. A few of the great activities available are water sports, fishing, hunting, ATV’s, fall hiking color tours, skiing @ Crystal or Caberfae, snowmobiling (the Pere Marquette snowmobile trail is nearby). Golf courses and Soaring Eagle Casino within a short distance.
The lakefront swimming area has a sandy bottom with a gradual drop off. Fishing includes Bluegills, Perch, Rockbass, Crappie, and Largemouth Bass. There is a free public boat launch approximately one mile away to launch your boat, pontoon or jetski.
For your Mid- Michigan shopping experience and other activities you only need to go to Clare, Houghton Lake, Cadillac or Mount Pleasant. Soaring Eagle Casino is 30 minutes away.
Want to Hunt Northern Michigan whitetail deer, turkey, and other small game? The Au sable State Forest and Pere Marquette State Forest only minutes away. Ice fishing produces nice pike as well as other fish.
Eight guest limit, four adults max. Renters must be a minimum 25 years of age, unless accompanied by an adult guardian. This cabin is pet and smoke free. Check-in time 3:00PM and check-out time is 12:00 noon

My husband and I stayed here for a week in July. The cottage was exactly as promised, clean, comfortable, well-maintained with the owners being very helpful and informative. The lake was clear, clean and without a lot of traffic (boats/jet skis) during the week. Bald Eagles were nesting across the lake and loons could be seen and heard throughout the day. The town is small with two restaurants, but the city of Clare is 10 minutes away and has everything you would need (grocery stores, restaurants, bars, shopping, etc.....). Mt Pleasant is just a few more minutes down the road as well. The Pere Marquette Trail is just a few blocks from the cottage and perfect for bike riding, running, or possibly snow mobiling in the winter. I would highly recommend this cottage for couples or small families who want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

This is our 3rd visit! We really enjoy the cabin, the area and the nearby activities. It is close to Mt. Pleasant (Soaring Eagle Casino) and Clare. The cabin is very clean. We will certainly be back for another visit. Owners are very accommodating and we would highly recommend.

We really had a great time. Your home was perfect and immaculately clean. The lake was pristine. We caught a bunch of bluegill and perch and "almost" something much larger - walleye, or maybe a small northern? The lake was very quiet (especially during the week) which was very relaxing. We explored all around the area, from Mount Pleasant to Traverse City, and had a great time tubing down a river with the kids, finding an outstanding Amish bakery, and visiting an exotic animal petting zoo. Thank you again, and I hope you next renters enjoy your cabin as much as we did. - Gian

Bigger than expected, clean, nice amenities, extras including DVD collection a plus! Glad to have A/C. Owner is making great improvements - we intend to rent here again!
