Gorgeous, brand new (2010) masterfully crafted thatched roof compound on the Dominican Republic's rugged North Shore! 2 1/3 lush, rolling tropical acres on a 50' cliff overlooking the mighty Atlantic surf! Panoramic views! Balinese inspired layout with separate pavilions to live and sleep, each open to the ocean with dramatic views. Very private grounds with dozens of mature royal palms, coconut palms, avocado trees, mango trees, almond trees, and acres of rolling green grass dotted with bougainvillea and the like. A jungle paradise!
One enters the central pavilion through a centuries old antique Indian carved door, dramatically introducing the view of the infinity edged pool and a full panorama of the Atlantic beyond. The 'great room' has a well equipped kitchen, a hand carved oak dining table seating 16, and an incredibly comfortable lounge area with room enough for everyone! The entire wall of doors, 9 feet tall and custom made by master craftsmen from Santo Domingo, opens completely up to the yard, pool and ocean. Laze about on the terrace, pick a hammock, or sun yourself bronze...this house is heaven for relaxation!
A master suite to die for. Perched high among the palms, this double pavilion suite is exotic, wonderful, and completely open to the ocean! Even the bath! With breathtaking ocean views, shower al fresco in the morning, with nothing but you, the colorful fauna and the big blue sea! Be lulled to sleep at night by the sound of the surf and the cool, constant breeze.
The guest pavilion is comprised of two generous bedrooms, one a king and the other having two full (double) beds. Each has their own terrace and bath, and both have stunning views of the ocean and Cabo Frances beyond! Total privacy between all three pavilions make this an ideal set up for 2 families with kids, 3 couples, or just one large, extended family.
Minutes away from the famous (National Geographic) Playa Grande beach, a 3 mile stretch of sand, surf and seafood (caught hourly, grilled fresh, and brought to your beachside table...all for a few bucks)! Also, a minute further down the road, is the world's best kept golf secret. Playa Grande Campo de Golf is known to those in the know as the 'Pebble Beach' of the Caribbean. With 14 of 18 holes set upon dramatic 80' cliffs right on the ocean and surrounded by the lush green mountainside, it is a setting to behold and a challenge you won't soon forget.
This is a home designed for ease and comfort, with the amenities, but without the pretense. Its décor is simple, yet crisp, clean and organic. Help yourselves to the vegetable garden, read a book or two, and relax! Buy your fresh eggs everyday from Jonny’s chickens up the road. My family enjoyed a two week stay over the Christmas- New Years holiday. This villa is beautifully designed down to each & every detail! The main pavillion is perfection. Enjoyed the covered patio, dining area, and comfortable living room. Each ensuite bedroom provides amazing views, and space offering the perfect amount of comfort & privacy. Miss the sound of the ocean since our return! Can't beat the oceanfront location- the infinity pool is beyond perfection! Amazing 3 acre grounds--- beautifully done--- feels like your own private resort!!! The owners are an absolute dream to work with--- offered wonderful travel assistance, and ideas, recommendations, and assistance during our stay. The onsite staff is amazing. This was our first visit to the Dominican Republic & we certainly hope its not our last. The people are wonderful, and the scenery is absolutely fantastic as well! HIGHLY recommend this amazing Oceanfront compound- and look forward to future stays ourselves!!!
