Great family vacation home just down the road from Durango and up the hill from Vallecito Lake.
The Acre plus site offers guests privacy in its surroundings of ponderosa pines, oak trees and native ferns and chokecherry bushes - a feeling of living in the forest. Deer especially appreciate the property's density as a safe place to sleep at night and romp or eat during the day. Children and adults alike will enjoy using the 20'X 40' grassy recreation area in the more open side yard for such games as croquet, badminton, volleyball, bocce ball, etc. The covered front porch is perfect for relaxing while taking in rain and snow showers, while the large back deck provides a great area for outdoor eating, bird watching and general appreciation of the Colorado outdoors. Simply put, the inside is comfortably furnished with all of the necessities, sleeping eight to twelve.
In the winter this area is alive with an amazing variety of entertainment options in sports, nature and relaxation. Durango Mountain Ski Resort offers skiing for all ages, snowmobiling and great shopping. There are several taverns with great food - for the football watchers. Spas, hot springs and coffee houses for those that want to relax and read a good book.
In the summer, the incredibly cool weather invigorates those who want to take in a hike, swim or fishing excursion. All year round the Durango-Silverton train runs and is perfect for a family day.
