Location: North Upper Truckee 1, South Lake Tahoe, Lake Tahoe South Shore CA, Lake Tahoe California, California, USA (Tahoe)
Accommodations: House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3.5 Baths (Sleeps 8-12)
Keywords: House
Custom built house just completed in the fall of 2009 with every imaginable detail. With 4 bedrooms, 3 ½ baths, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, an entertainment room, wet bar, and a gourmet kitchen that opens up to an expansive dining/great room, this house is perfect for your next getaway.
Situated off of North Upper Truckee, this house feels miles away from the hustle and bustle but is only minutes from everything. At the end of the street begins the national forest, with miles and miles of trails for hiking, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing. Seneca Pond is only a mile away, but if you’re looking for a bit more of a workout, Angora Lake is about a 2 or 3 hour hike. Heavenly ski resort, Sierra at Tahoe, and the action of the casinos are all within a 15 minute drive. The shops at the Y are 5 minutes away to do your shopping.
From the front door, enter directly into the great room where you’ll be greeted by a roaring fireplace, wet bar, and 25 foot ceilings. Immediately, you’ll notice the 100 year-old reclaimed, wide-plank flooring and the granite and marble countertops, to the breathtaking views and immediate sense of tranquility. The entire back wall slides open to the covered terrace, so that the indoors and outdoors meld into one. Outside you’ll find another fireplace, 8 person hot tub, gourmet gas grill, and dining area. End every night around the fireplace, laughing and reminiscing about your day.
Even if you don’t cook, you can’t help but love the kitchen. Equipped with 6 gas burners, a griddle, double oven, super quiet Bosch dishwasher, and built in Miele coffee/espresso machine. There’s also an oversized island so friends can gather round with a glass of wine while watching the chefs do their thing. The dining table seats 8, but add the leaves and there’s plenty of room for 12. And the adjacent wet bar with its own ice maker, wine refrigerator, sink, and dish drawer ensures that the glasses will never go empty!
The entertainment room comes equipped with a Bose Lifestyle system and 52” LCD, and the CD and iPod hookups allow you to hear music throughout the entire first floor via the built in speakers (yes, even while you’re in the hot tub!). There is a Nintendo Wii system, complete with guitar hero and dance, dance revolution!
The Lower master bedroom has a flat screen TV/DVD, queen size bed, en-suite bathroom with soaking tub, shower with rainfall showerheads, and double sinks. A 2 car garage, mud room, laundry room and ½ bath round out the lower floor, all of which was designed for wheelchair accessibility.
Upstairs you’ll find a second master bedroom (queen bed) with the most amazing views of the surrounding mountains. Again, en-suite double sink bathroom with soaking tub, shower, TV/DVD. A small balcony accommodates 2 as you enjoy your coffee and croissants. And if you simply must work, there’s a desk with printer/fax/scan/copying capabilities. Wireless access throughout the house.
Also upstairs are the 2 additional bedrooms, each with a queen bed, TV/DVD, and iPod compatible alarm clock stereo.
All of the bedrooms have been outfitted with 600 thread count linens, the finest down pillows and duvets. No wire hangers! The floors are even heated so that the tile isn’t cold on this wintry morning toes! Professionally designed décor and views from every window of the nearby mountains and forest.
Two of the couches have double sleepers included to accommodate additional guests. And in the mudroom closet you’ll find additional mats, aero-beds, and bedding for those spontaneous sleepovers!

My husband and I along with 6 friends vacationed at this luxurious home. This home was absolutely beautiful. It was very spacious along with gorgeous details. We gathered around the kitchen and dining room at every meal, utilized the wonderful grill and fire place. The home's additives such as kitchen accessories, home surround system, and entertainment center was the perfect perk. This home was in a convenient location near ski resorts, supermarkets and casinos. The home manager was very helpful and professional. We are so glad they shared their home with us. This home provided many memories for me and my friends, we are already talking about our next vacation to Tahoe.

Fantastic! We stayed here and fell in love the moment we walked in the door. Everything about this place is wonderful the ONLY way this place could be better is if it had the Tahoe lake as its back yard, but that too is not very far from the home. If you want a nice place to stay and want to feel like you are at home, then stay here. You will never want to leave. In fact I am on my way to stay at this place again this weekend!

We stayed here this weekend and the property is a total luxury experience. Our group is a "foodie" group - we love good food and the kitchen is a dream come true! Well stocked, top of the line. Just fun! Location was excellent for sking either Sierra or Heavenly. Just a beautiful home. We will book again (sorry to see it's already taken for most of the rest of ski season!).

We just stayed at Casa Mariposa while on a 5 day trip to Tahoe. This place is amazing. The location is stellar and the house could not have been better. Waking up to heated stone floors is a dream and the coffee maker is fantastic. We will certainly come back!

This is a beautiful house with all the amenities of home plus more. Three couples along with three kids stayed four comfortable nights here over New Years and enjoyed every minute of it. The location is within 15 minutes of the lake and skiing.

My family of 5 stayed in this house over the Christmas holiday of 2009. I must say that it is utterly fabulous and exquisite. The rental process went extremely smooth and the home's details are impeccable-- from the media room, to the kitchen, to the heated floors, to the jacuzzi. This is definitely a five star property.
