House was adequate. Beach was fantastic! Definitely on the secluded side of the island and just far enough away from Rum Point (but within walking distance). All the other residents of the sealodges were great neighbors. We were fortunate to have several vacant sealodges next to us. Had the place and the beach to ourselves. The new palapa was a welcome addition. Had a blast! A really enjoyable vacation for 15 days. All the people that we met on the island were extremely friendly. Over the Edge restaurant is a must for breakfast or dinner (2 miles down the road). The marine life is unbelievable (50 steps to the water). Enjoyed the resident birds and lizards. Water temp is 80+. The setting was worth a million bucks (sunrise and sunsets, beach and crystal clear water). This was a spectacular vacation for my wife and our 2 friends.

My husband and I spent Dec 17th - Dec 24th in this rental. What you see is what you get......the best view in the world. There was nothing lacking in the kitchen. Every possible gadget that you would need for cooking was there. (Might could use alittle more space to get around). You can snorkel in the beautiful blue-green water just steps away. Sleep at night with the ocean breeze blowing through the louvers. To get around we rented a car & drove to the Turtle Farm, to the city of Hell and lots of trips to the grocery store. We made the mistake to going to Georgetown on Sunday. Don't bother mostly eveything closes up shop on Sundays. Christmas of 2010 we were in St.Thomas, Virgin Island. My husband & I decide that Cayman was a much cleaner city than St. Thomas. We do plan on returning to the Caymans ASAP.

We recently spent an amazing week at Rum Point. Having never been there before and going by online photos and description leaves me wondering "what are we getting into?" Well, when we arrived, we immediately knew this was going to be an awesome place and an awesome vacation. And it was, all the way down to one last snorkel adventure hours before our plane left Cayman Airport. The Condo was great. There was a full bedroom and bath for my wife and I, plus another full bedroom and bath for our two adult kids. We all loved the place. Very comfortable and clean. Swimming and snorkeling right out our door was fantastic. Everything we needed was there. We bought groceries for the week and did a combination of eating breakfast and lunch at the condo and going out for dinner at local restaurants. Rum Point is dear to my wife as she went to camp there as a high school and college student. Returning to the island was a huge hit for her. We had a great time and would love to return.

We rented this property last week. What a Treat. It's better than the pictures. This is a very clean residence. The beds were comfortable. All the appliances were spotless and worked without incident. The views were spectacular. We snorkeled right outside on the beach. This is a top-notch rental and I have been raving about it to everyone that I know. If you go to Grand Cayman then this is the rental you should choose. The owner was very helpful in providing us with information, answering questions, providing maps and "inside" tips of where to go and what to do. The rental was easy to locate as the owner provided detailed driving instructions. In addition to the snorkeling and beach combing on the property, there were many beaches close. Area dining was superb and clean. I am looking forward to returning to this rental.

We had a wonderful time at your place. We are so glad that we did not stay on the 7 mile beach! Seven mile beach was just like Daytona, Clearwater, or any of the other beaches here in Florida. Your place there at was very nice and pleasant. To drive around was really not a big deal everyone was very courteous. (Hint the curb is your friend) The weather was super nice all week and the only rain was in the evenings. The grocery store was not too far away and the restaurants were also very close, which was nice too. We really did enjoy the castle and the gardens that are near by. We left the card of a captain that we chartered to take us out fishing on the refrigerator. He was a really nice guy. Red Sails at rum point was handy to take us out to Stingray City and snorkeling. Snorkeling off the beach at your place was very nice and as good as any place else that we went. .

We were familiar with the Rum Point of Grand Cayman, and knew what to expect, but this is the first time that we had stayed on that side of the island. Previously we had stayed on 7 Mile Beach, but this location is the quiet side of the island, which is exactly what we wanted. The condo is actually more of a cottage and is the end unit. It was perfect for us. The screened porch overlooking the ocean was heavenly!! You definitely need a car on this side of the island, though. The owners were very helpful in answering any and all of our questions, and sent area maps along with recommendations and directions. We can hardly wait to return.

We stayed at Bob's condo the second week of June with our 5 year old daughter. It is a great place to stay if you want to have a quiet, relaxing, vacation. The property is pretty secluded over near Rum Point, which is just what we wanted. The condo itself is not fancy, but is cosy, and is well equipped if you are planning on eating in. It has a great sandy beach and there is some very good snorkeling on the healthy reef right off shore. The unit has a lovely screened porch with a beautiful view which makes it the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail in the evening and gaze out at the Caribbean. If you plan on venturing over to the touristy areas of Grand Cayman, it would be a good idea to rent a car. The trip to Georgetown is about an hour drive on average. Bob is a great owner to deal with. He is very helpful, and provided us with a lot of very useful information that helped us make the most out of our trip. The day we arrived we discovered one of the AC units was not working. I sent Bob an email in the evening, and by 10 am the next day, I got a call from someone to let me know they were going to come fix it. It was taken care of that same day. All in all I was completely satisfied with our rental. If I ever venture back to Grand Cayman I will definitely try to stay here again.

Bob and Jo Ann have a great vacation spot for anyone who truly wants to get away from everything, even the much busier south side of Grand Cayman. While one might think just being on Grand Cayman would be relaxing enough, having access to (seemingly) your own private beach can't be beat. My wife, two kids (6 & 9 yrs.) and I spent a week at this house (it's more a house than a condo) in April, 2011. While there are numerous like units on the property, we felt as if we had the whole place to ourselves. Although, we did meet another family there with kids the same age and we had such a great time together that we still keep in touch. The house was great. It was just the right amount of space. It reminded me of the vacation homes you'd find on the Jersey Shore - built to be by the ocean. If you need granite counters, cherry cabinets, marble baths and a flat screen, this place is not for you. As soon as you get there, open all the shutters and enjoy the ocean breeze which seems to be constant on the north side. They have AC but we didn't need it. The beach and water were amazing. Take the time to swim all the way out to the reef break, it's actually quite shallow. You can see just about every fish Cayman has to offer while staying close to home. Our kids tried snorkeling for the first time on the trip and they liked it so much we even did a night snorkel one night. For dining, we mostly saved money by cooking ourselves after a big grocery run near the airport. We did go eat at Over the Edge a few times. The food was very good, prices were as good as you're going to get while on the island, especially when you consider the view from their great deck. If you go far west, check out The Cracked Conch. Loved the food. Bring your snorkel/dive gear, they're also a dive shop on a great dive spot. Tours Cayman took us out to Sand Bar (for Sting Rays) and two other snorkel spots and they easily had the best bang for the buck. Half the price as the guys located at Rum Point. Regardless of price, they were a solid outfit. We recommend exploring all the notable beaches for snorkeling. Personally, I was disappointed going to the Turtle Farm. After exploring the island all week, we went to what was essentially a zoo. It's probably best for the cruise ship folk who don't want to get wet but want to get close to nature nonetheless. We certainly hope to return. Maybe our boys will be certified by then. Thanks again.

what we expected. not the fanciest home of all time but everything was clean and neat. well thought out. probably one of the best locations on the north side. good reef and a clean beach with good entry into the water. that can't be said for the majority of the north side. this unit also has probably best location of the sea lodges. it is on the end and is much more private with a great view. would stay here again.

We had never been to Cayman and were looking for a nice beach house to rent. On the VRBO site we found this nice place, and the description sounded exactly like the place we were looking for: A house directly at the beach the North Side of Grand Cayman, with 2 bedrooms and a porch with the view of the ocean. We contacted the owners, Joe Ann and Bob who replied promptly and were very helpful responding to our questions prior to our trip and also during our island vacation. It was a great pleasure to work with Joe Ann and Bob who are the nicest people and made sure that the renting is an effortless, easy procedure. When we arrived at the house, we found that this place surpassed our expectations by far. This beach house is great and located in a wonderful spot. The site is beautiful with the pristine white beach, the clear warm water and the abundant fish and soft coral. My wife and I and our kids love snorkeling, and we could not get enough exploring the back reef area in the crystal clear water. The beach was never crowded and is the best place to relax in the warm sun. After spending the day at the beach and in the water, we enjoyed very much the peacefulness of the nicely furnished home. The house is well maintained, clean and in excellent shape. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the nice bedrooms are large and quiet. With television, the large DVD collection and WIFI Internet, there are options for entertainment and for staying connected. But there is no need to spend the evening in front of the TV: Rum Point with its shops and restaurants is in walking distance, and the Kaibo Beach Restaurant has not only good food but also live music in the evenings. From Rum Point we also took a great boat trip for snorkeling at Sting Ray City, which turned out to be absolutely phenomenal. If you ever had the wish to feed sting rays that have a wing span of three to four feet, here you can do it. All in all we had a great vacation. We loved our beach house and hope to return to that place soon. If you are looking for a great beach rental on Grand Cayman, we can highly recommend this place. Mark

We had excellent time in this condo right before Christmas 2010. The complex is located on the north side of the island - a bit away from Georgetown, the area is very peaceful and quiet, yet still there are plenty of restaurants a very short drive away and grocery stores are not too far either. This condo is very private, right on the beach. You can view sunrise right from the seaside porch. The ocean is about 30 steps away right in front of the condo. There is plenty of marine life to see as soon as you step into the ocean. The property is very well maintained, clean and a pleasure to stay in. Nearby places like Rum Point (less than minute driving) and Kaibo (2 minute drive) are excellent places to eat right on the beach. Sunsets at Kaibo are just wonderful. From Rum Point you can take a sailboat to see stingrays at StingRay sandbar. Overall, it's a great quiet place to spend time away from all rush and busy life. Time really slows there (sometimes I wish the internet connection would stop working :)

Our stay here was great! We were steps away from the beach and the amenities were nice. The condo has a very nice covered patio that is relaxing and the condo is secluded enough to have peaceful evening dining outside. I would definitely recommend staying at Bob and Joanneās place. It was also nice to have a laundry area right there at your convenience.

Let me begin by saying that Michael and I have never had a better vacation. This is a wonderful little cottage with the Carribean in the front yard. The only thing between you and the sea is beautiful white sand. It is obvious that Bob and JoAnn have spent time alot of time there. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, dishes, and spices. One of the reason we enjoyed our stay so much is that the cottage is on the North Side of the island which is away from the hustle and bustle of Georgetown. During the hottest time of the day, we would do touristy things. We drove to the East end, had a great lunch at Portofino Restaurant. We got some great pictures of the blow holes. We also visited the castle at Pedro St. James, very interesting. By far, our best meal was at Calypso Grill, a little pricey, but, excellant. Our last nite we went upstairs at Kaibo Grill. Also pricey, but excellant. We ate at home most of the time so we felt we could spurge a little (we were there for 2 wks). Breakfast at Over the edge is very good and lunch at Kaibo bar and grill very good and right on the beach, very casual, very beachy. I highly reccomend Bob and JoAnn's little peice of the Carribean so much so that we plan to go back next year!!

My husband and I stayed here in the end of 2009 into 2010 for 5 days. We loved it. Everyday we walked down to Rum Point, snorkeled right in front of condos, or had drinks at Kaibo Yacht Club or The Wreck Bar. We drove to 7 mile beach one day and were grateful to return that evening to our quiet little piece of paradise. It is much more relaxed on the Rum Point side and much less crowded. As for the condo itself, I think it is one of the more private ones because it's all the way at the end. You get a view of the water and can sleep with the bedroom doors open without worrying about someone walking by, or lights shining in from another unit. If we visit Cayman again, we would definitely go back to this place. Bob was very responsive to my emails and sent an orientation sheet for the area that was very detailed and helpful. Thanks so much!
