We stayed the weekend here and it was great. They tell it like it is, very clean and roomy. We had plenty of room for 2 big air matresses in the living area. We had 3 boats easily tie up to the dock. Perfect for a getaway with friends and family! Mrs. Dorothy didn't mind us checking out a little later since no one was checking in that night. Not many fish bitin, but it was fun!

This is a wonderful place to stay on vacation. There is a huge amount of room and it is in a perfect location. We have stayed here the past 3 summers while on vacation at Lake Eufaula. Ms. D the owner is wonderful and always so helpful. I have never actually met her, but in dealing with her the past 3 years, I feel like I have always known her. She always wants to make sure everything is great for your stay. There is nothing negative I can say about the vacation home except that I wish I could afford to go more often! You will be extremely pleased if you choose this house as your vacation getaway!!!!!

I agree with another reviewer that GPS will not quite get you here so definitely have the owners detailed directions on hand. The house is just as pictured on the listing. There is plenty of room and the layout is nice. We liked that there are two eating tables, one in kitchen & one dining, that you can still be in earshot of one anohter. The back porch is screened and has steps that lead out to the back and a path takes you to the floating boat dock. The lot and surrounding lots are very wooded so the view of water is limited from the house. The air conditioning works great! Which is a must since the outside temp was over 100 while we were there. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, pots, silverware, etc. There's a Wal-Mart nearby in Eufaula to buy groceries. We had a bad time with ants and roaches unfortunately. I know that's country life but it may be time for exterminating. We ran the vacuum and swept the floors to pick up bugs. We needed to use the sofa bed one night. Opened it up to find a moldy sheet that had obviously been neglected for some time. We threw it into the wash and it was fine. The sofa bed could probably use some airing out though. I understand the reasoning for 10am check out but it is difficult to meet when you have to clean up and strip beds and start washing linens. I think this place is a good value though. Especially if you compare to a motel in town. This was our first time to use VRBO and we will use it again for future vacations!

We have two kids, 5 and 2, and we very happy with how far we were from the road as well as the water. The house is roomy and comfortable, enough to make the occasional rainy afternoon fun. One word of caution: GPS and Google maps will NOT find it for you! However, the owner gives very detailed directions do not leave home without them.
Owner response:Karen, I am sorry about the rain and that you had to cut your trip short due to business . I hope you might be able to return again sometime under better circumstances. Dorothy

I rented the place for a week to take my grandkids fishing and I must say that the pictures on the site do not do this place justice! The yard is very big and there was more than enough room for my grandkids to play. The inside of the house was HUGE!!! The kitchen was big enough that me, my daughter, her husband and the 3 grandkids could be in there while we were cooking dinner and not be in anyones way...and with my three grandkids that is really something! The bedrooms are very roomy and with the fold out bed in the livingroom there more than enough sleeping room for all of us and then some. Loved the fact that the bed linens were there for us to put on ourselves...then I knew they were clean...what a great idea!!! The dock was easy to get to and at night it was well lit. This is definately someplace we will be renting again!!
Owner response:Thanks Jerry. I try to have a nice place to rent. Glad you and your family liked the place. About the linens, this was deceided to have the linens left on the beds clean after we had rented a place that the linens were used and no way to reach the owner. I look forward to your return trip in the fall. D

We had a wonderful weekend at this getaway. The house was spacious and clean. We got in late Friday night only to realize that the air conditioner was not working. We opened the windows and turned on the fans until we could contact the owner the next morning. The owner had someone out to look at the air right away unfortunately he was not able to fix the problem. The owner contacted an A/C professional and kept us informed the whole time. The A/C guy was very kind and even gave us his number in case we needed anything further while we were staying. The owner was extremely kind and everything was to our liking. The lake was fun and we caught a lot of fish.

The place is very roomy. It's in a nice spot on a creek. We were impressed with the condition of it. Looks very nice. We didn't spend much time in it because we were out fishing but it would have been a nice place to relax. You can feed over 12 people at a time in here. Lots of kitchen and table room. If you have kids, the yard is nice also. lots of room. The only thing we had issues with was the cleaning. The dishes and pots had to be washed prior to use because they had been put up dirty. The dishwasher had left caked on food on them. And, in my opinion, when you pay a cleaning fee, you shouldn't have to make your own bed prior to sleeping in them and put trash bags in the trash cans. We had no problem stripping the beds and putting the sheets in the wash before we left. We just felt like it should have been ready when we arrived. We lost our deposit because the toilet got stopped up and had to have a plumber, but the lady that rents the place was not rude about it, she was a nice lady. Things happen. Overall the trip itself was nice.
