This roomy, lakefront cottage is the perfect site for a family vacation or gathering. Well furnished and meticulously cleaned maintained by the owners, past visitors say that pictures can't convey how charming this historic cottage is. The large wrap-around enclosed porch with it's comfortable furnishings lets you relax with a drink or book in the lake breezes. A sandbox, climbing tree, and rope swing entertain children in the front yard. Lake Erie is 100 feet away with easy access. Located on a private lane with more barefoot vacationers than cars, the neighborhood invites visitors to unwind.

An attached wood deck and spacious yard allow for sunbathing and viewing of the ever-changing lake. Stairs lead down to a wooden deck, a pier and a ladder into the lake for swimming. A public, sandy beach is two miles away or see our link to many close by beaches in Erie county that you can explore.

The large dining room table and fully-equipped kitchen allow for preparation of any meal imaginable. The upstairs bedrooms are carpeted, with newer beds and open ceilings. Recent upgrades include new living room furniture, full bathroom remodels and porch furniture. This cottage has charm and character that has been making memories for families since 1911. The on site owners will make you feel right at home.

Children and adults of all ages enjoy the uniqueness of this cottage, located in Hartley Beach, a quiet cul-de-sac off the main road. If we are full, we recommend vrbo 23210 or 3786, located a few doors away. Located 20 minutes from Sandusky, home of Cedar Point and Kalahari waterpark.

Weekend getaway

We stayed at the Cottage with some friends on Memorial Day weekend. In all there were 4 adults and 6 kids. We couldn't have been more comfortable. Everything we needed was available and sleeping accommodations were excellent. We felt like we were staying with family. The tree & swing was a big hit for the kids. It was really nice to have the lake right there. It was a perfect getaway. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back!

Like staying with extended family

Guest: Happy in Huron (Euclid)
Date of Stay: 09/06/10 Review Submitted: 09/16/10

Eight of us (4 couples) stayed in this cottage and had an absolutely wonderful time. George and Carol were so friendly and accomodating. They really made us feel like family. The cottage was everything they said it was. It's very rustic with lots of personality! The front porch was a great gathering place....we had hours of fun playing games there. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The cottage was spotless. Although the cottage is old, there were plenty of electrical outlets in all of the rooms. There is lots of room in the yard for corn hole or bocce and there's a great back deck. I would highly recommend this cottage both for the facility itself and for the ease of working with the owners. They were truly a pleasure and added to our enjoyment of the week!

A great place to be together!!

Date of Stay: 09/24/09 Review Submitted: 07/19/10

Though I stayed her with 5 other women who I graduated from high school with, I could definitely see it filled with family and extended family just having a great time together. The pictures definitely do the place justice. The view of the lake is beautiful. It is convenient to restaurants and places to buy necessities. Carol and her husband live right next door in a beautiful home and were very hospital. Returning is definitely something we will be doing.
