A truly unique experience!

Guest: Lara & family from UK (London, UK)
Date of Stay: 04/17/12 Review Submitted: 05/20/12

A truly unique experience for our family of 6. Clean bathrooms, comfortable beds, fully-equipped kitchen and a nice huge living room with a nice view of the Gianicolense wall and located in a very quiet neighborhood, you will surely have a good night sleep. Everything works fine - oven, internet WiFi, TV, etc. The home is exactly 5 minutes away from the heart of Trastevere, supermarkets, bakeries, flea markets, pharmacies, pizzerias, restaurants, bars are all within walking distance. Historical spots are just few steps away. This is our fourth and by far the most memorable stay in a Italy. Very highly recommended!

Historical spots were just steps away and if your feet are sore, bus stops are very close.

The apartment was spacious and clean, beds were very comfortable. Everything was as seen in the photos and as described in the listing. It was a great apartment in a very nice and quiet neighborhood, you will surely get a very nice sleep. The manager “Chris” gave us a very warmth welcome and a lot of tips on where to go and what to see, it was like having your own personal travel advisor, he was a very nice host not to mention that he also offered us some refreshments. The Trastevere neighborhood where this apartment is located was a fun diverse zone, there were lots of good restaurants, bars, flea markets and everything. Historical spots were just steps away and if your feet are sore, bus stops are very close to the apartment although we spent our time walking. We only had four nights in Rome but would gladly stay here longer. Definitely, we will recommend this apartment to our family, friends and to everyone.

The apartment was better than described!

Guest: David (San Francisco)
Date of Stay: 02/15/12 Review Submitted: 03/14/12

It was conveniently located in the city center where restaurants, bars, pizzerias, supermarkets and especially the flea markets where I grab some fresh fruit, Italian cheeses and everything! The moment we entered this apartment, we felt at home instantly, it was very nice, big, spacious, very clean and has a very nice view by the balcony. Chris was a very nice host, he offered us some refreshments while he explained to us everything about what Rome has to offer, he even helped us with our itinerary and gave us tips to fruitfully spend our holiday here. Tourists spots are just few steps away from the apartment, we spent most of our time walking but then when you are tired, you can always take buses which take you to the apartment. I will definitely recommend this apartment to everyone! Arrivederci Roma!

All the five star reviews are well-deserved!!!!

Date of Stay: 12/06/11 Review Submitted: 01/13/12

My family of 6 stayed here for 10 nights and loved every minute in Rome. Like everyone else says, the apartment is clean, lovely, quiet and well set-up, you will really have a nice sleep after the tiring day, and Chris and Aldo are wonderful hosts. You don't need to bring Rome travel books since they have them all as well as all sorts of maps. They helped us planning our itinerary, they included lots of little thoughtful touches to make us feel completely at home and lastly they even offered us some refreshments, what a nice gesture! The location is close to the Trastevere River along which you can walk forever. Their Wi-Fi service was great which is very important to us. All the five star reviews are well-deserved. We would definitely stay here again and will tell our relatives and friends about this Stunning Roman Vacation Apartment in Trastevere-Janiculum.

Big apartment in the central part of Trastevere area where historical spots are just few steps away.

Guest: Steve & family (California)
Date of Stay: 10/13/11 Review Submitted: 11/03/11

My family of 5 and I were very fortunate to have found this clean and nice apartment in the central part of Trastevere area where historical spots are just walk away and bus stops are close by. We spent 7 wonderful and relaxing days in this large flat and no one felt cramped. The apartment appears larger than in the published online photos, there are lots of windows that bring the sunshine inside the house. It is clean and very well maintained, kitchen has all the basic stuff that you need for cooking, 2 bathrooms were clean as well, bedrooms were comfortable and the living area is very spacious. The accommodations were perfect - picturesque, quaint and quiet, we had a very nice sleep. The staff gave us a very warmth welcome when we first arrived in the apartment, Chris had done a very nice job in helping us our itinerary, booking tickets & attractions, giving us tips on where to go and recommending nice restaurants, we were very impressed by the service he gave us even on the e-mails right before we booked this flat. And during our stay, he was very available to help us when we needed assistance. When I come back in Rome, I will definitely stay here again. My family recommends this apartment to everyone.

Great apartment, but far from city attractions

Guest: Family Vacation's (Houston, Texas, USA)
Date of Stay: 10/09/11 Review Submitted: 10/19/11

The apartment was very nice and cozy. It is especially large for Rome. We had 7 people staying there and no one felt cramped. The only problems we encountered was that it was far from all of the attractions and it is on a hill. You have to climb several flights of stairs to get to it or wait on a bus that can sometimes take a while. This was only an issue because we had older people in our group with weak knees and backs and had to find other ways around climbing hundreds of stairs. So about 2 hours of each day was just trying to get to the bottom of the hill and in a main area to tour around Rome. One other, slight inconvience, is that you have to be abnormally quiet around and inside of the apartment. We practically wispered and "tippy-toed" the entire time and still a lady from down stairs was yelling at us in Italian. We were extremely quiet because we were worried about the 300 Euro fine we could get if she called the owner and still that was too "loud." Dont get me wrong this is a great apartment and if you are staying for weeks and have a lot of young/middle age adults it will be great. But if you have small children (make noise) or older adults (climbing stairs) or a short stay with crunched time, it probably won't benefit you as well.

Owner response:We are glad that your family of 7 have stayed in our apartment in a nice way however we would like to clarify some few things: The apartment is located few meters away from the center of Trastevere (rather than two hours) and buses and taxi stand are nearby, the stairs (named Scala Righetto) is easily accessible and not long, it takes you to the historical center in few minutes . Personally, living for years in that area, we do not spend much time waiting for the buses: the bus which takes you all Rome runs every 10 minutes as published on the bus stop. The flat is located in a residential area in the center of Rome and in a very quiet building with only 5 apartments and all inhabited by the owners for years who are accustomed to silence and peace. We let our clients aware, not knowing their habits, to observe a certain silence and pay respect to the neighbors. The lady from downstairs who you have heard shouting simply told us that the shared elevator is to be kept available because you might have been using it a little longer, but not because your party was making noises, everything said in Italian that's why there might be some misunderstanding. Please take note that the 300 euro security deposit represents as a guarantee in case of damage to the apartment but not a fine for disturbing the peace so you won’t have to worry about it.

The apartment has a pleasant location away from the hubbub of the city center. We had a car that we parked in front of the house without problems and could so easily get to the center. The apartment is very large and beautiful, only the sanitary facilities should be modernized a bit and a dishwasher would be useful. The supervision and help of the manager was really perfect!

My family, friends and I found ourselves impressed in this very large, spacious, clean and beautiful apartment. The location was perfect and historical spots are just few steps away and when you're tired of walking you can always take the public transportation which takes you very close to the property. There are many wonderful restaurants, bars and flea markets, supermakets, pastry shops nearby. Chris gave us a very warmth welcome, he even offered us refreshments upon our arrival in the apartment! He then helped us plan out our itinerary and gave us recommendations on how to spend our holiday in its fullest. We highly recommend this property to everyone!

Spacious, breezy, beautiful apartment

Guest: Barbara (Arlington, VA)
Date of Stay: 06/25/11 Review Submitted: 07/31/11

We stayed in this apartment for about a week with our two teenage sons. It is much larger than it appears in the photos and is quite beautiful -- lots of windows that bring in nice breezes. The apartment was very clean and well maintained and the kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook. We used the company's driver from the airport and Chris met us at the apartment exactly as planned by e-mail. Chris is very friendly and gave us a lot of advice and detailed maps of the neighborhood -- most of these he sent by e-mail when we first booked the apartment. He was also available during our stay to give us advice by phone or e-mail, which was helpful. The apartment is a bit of a walk to get to central Rome and getting home is an uphill hike. We found that the bus and tram were both very convenient and we tended to rely on them to get places more efficiently.

The apartment was perfect for our needs. It is situated right in the heart of Trastevere with easy access to buses and taxis, although you can walk just about anywhere in Rome from this location. The staff were very nice, polite and gave us a very warmth welcome, they helped us planned our Roman vacation, suggested to us their favorite restaurants and a lot more, they were of big help to us. Oh, they even provided us with a cellphone so that we can always call them in case of assistance, what a kind gesture! The apartment is safely located and in a very, very quiet neighborhood. We loved our stay here. Will certainly recommend this to everyone.

My family, friends and I had a fabulous week in Rome and the apartment really contributed to our lovely stay. It is very charming, superbly located as it is very close to historical areas. Logistics were seamless and the flat really lives up to its description! The staff were very helpful, explained to us some of Rome great spots and even recommended us the best Roman authentic restaurants. Their service was just great, they even left us with a mobile phone so that we can always get in touch with them and they were always available to help us. I will definitely recommend this beautiful apartment to my friends and relatives so that they can also experience what I have experienced.

We enjoyed our recent stay at Casa Gianicolense. The apartment was very airy and spacious, which suited our family of four adults and two young children. The lift was a great asset for bringing up bags etc. The beds were very comfortable, and we appreciated the two good sized bathrooms. Would recommend visiting the local shops,as they are away from the touristy areas, and particularly Al Grammelot wine bar. Could be a bit hot in summer with no air conditioning, but was OK in early September when we were there. Not having a washing machine was a minor inconvenience, but the expresso machine made up for it! Chris and Aldo were very helpful and accommodating, and it was nice to have them greet us on arrival and departure.

This apartment met our expectations. Highly recommended to everyone!

My family, friends and I stayed in this lovely apartment the third week of August, the moment we entered the flat, Aldo (the owner) gave us a very warmth welcome, he was very helpful, explained us basic stuff. The guidebooks on Rome, including metro/buses guides and maps were a very thoughtful gesture. The apartment was very spacious even for the group of 8 persons, very bright, very clean and had all the amenities to make one's stay in Rome comfortable and memorable. The kitchen was very nice and had everything we needed for cooking . The 2 bathrooms were very clean and never ran out of hot water. The 3 bedrooms were all spacious and very nice, the mattresses were very comfortable to sleep onto. The apartment was centrally located, all historical spots are just steps away, we spent most of our time walking from one place to another. And by nighttime, the zone was very quiet and relaxing, you will surely get a nice sleep after your tired Roman walk. The apartment met our expectations, it was as it was described online and everything went perfectly . And oh, even if we stayed here in the peak of summer, the apartment was very breezy as it is by the side of the wall of the Villa Sciarra park and lots of greens everywhere. Who needs an air-conditioner after all?! Chris, (the staff) was helpful in answering questions via email even before we began our trip. His list of restaurants with his comments were very useful. Three thumbs up (even i only have two) for a chic apartment with all the amenities and very centrally located too. Highly recommended to everyone!

Amazing apartment in Rome

Guest: J. Sinclair of Washington (Washington)
Date of Stay: 08/15/10 Review Submitted: 09/10/10

This Rome rental apartment was the most amazing accommodation my family have ever experienced. The staff Chris gave us a warmth welcome in the apartment, was very accommodating and patiently took the time to show us the apartment, its amenities and facilities, explaining everything to us and happily we learned how the italian cappuccino maker works. He gave us a city map and indicated to us the beautiful places and unique churches in Rome and even recommended us some of their favorite restaurants and where to find the yummy gelaterias. He even provided us with a service mobile phone so that we can communicate with each other in case of anything, how very nice to have this kind of service. There were 8 of us and we stayed comfortably in this apartment. We stayed in this apartment in the peak of summertime, eventhough the apartment is not equipped with air-conditioner, the apartment remained in a very nice comfortable temperature as it is located on a hill (yet public transportations are easily accessible) and trees surround it, oh we also enjoyed the view of the Villa Sciarra by the balcony. Who needs an air-conditioner when you have a nice natural breeze? I will definitely recommend this to my friends and family so they can experience staying in this marvelous apartment.

Thank you for making our stay in Rome one that will be in our memory forever. I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment. The apartment was perfect and exceptional. It met all our needs and was in a wonderful part of Rome. The apartment was well equipped and clean. We were able to walk everywhere and public transport (if required) was easily accessible. Great restaurants and supermarkets around the corner from the apartment. We were met by Aldo (the landlord) who was very professional and polite and very informative of the area, recommending restaurants, bars and local sites. I would definitely stay at this apartment again for my next visit to Rome. We also booked transportation from the airport to the apartment and vice versa and found the service to be excellent with drivers arriving at the agreed times. We were very impressed with the standard of the drivers. The cars used were very clean, comfortable and in excellent condition.

The apartment was large, comfortable, and quiet. Excellent location and close to buses that take you most places you'll want to see. Chris and Aldo couldn't have been more helpful, and restaurant recommendations were right on (Focolare, right nearby, is a bit pricey, but worth it. Also try Romolo, near the Sta. Maria church in Tastevere). A great way to see Rome!
