If you are looking for an escape to Mexico and off the busy resort track i highly recommend Casa Chula. We are a family of four and found Casa Chula spacious, tastefully appointed, well equipped and clean. We loved the layout of Casa Chula which integrates the outdoor courtyard and upper deck with the bedrooms and indoor kitchen so you feel like your are living outdoors. Shade in the day and cool at night. The kids (8 &12) loved the dipping pool and were entertained for hours. Lo de Marcos is a quiet and safe little beach town with access to the basics but also only a short drive to the busier and touristy towns of San Francisco and Sayulita. A rental car is recommend if you want to get around and explore but you could get by without one if you are looking to relax and not stray too far. Jodi and Carlos were excellent hosts.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Our stay at Casa Chula was just wonderful. I remember seeing the pictures online and thinking the house looked pretty but it was even more beautiful in person. Very clean and well maintained. The house is fully stocked with all you'll need. I loved that it was just a block from the beach too. Great for families. Lo De Marcos is a quaint little town and we felt completely safe there. Would definitely love to go back someday!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

My stay in Casa Chula was wonderful! Centrally located in Lo de Marcos, restaurants and shops are very accessable, and the magnificent beach is just a stone"s throw away. Casa Chula is an elegant mix of traditional Spanish design and modern comfort. The kitchen is fully equiped, clean, and very user friendly, the bedrooms are spacious, and the private heated pool in the back is the icing on the cake. I spent countless hours in that pool, sipping champaigne, and watching the palm trees gently sway in the warm breeze. I felt very safe here, and had a great deal of privacy. It was my private oasis in Lo de Marcos.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+.
