Family Fairytale Adventure Tudor Castle in the woods for 27+, peaceful forest – Reunions, Holidays, Anniversaries, Birthdays, Weddings, Seminars, Scrapbooking clubs etc.
5500+ sq ft on 5 levels- all necessities on main floor for medium wheel chair
Location- Pacific Northwest, WA State, Olympic Peninsula, 10 min easy access to City of Sequim
7 Bedrooms - (plus other sleeping! seven twin sleeping set up in Unicorn Peak Attic)
1. Majestic Master Suite- King bed, carved oak entertainment center, TV & player, ceiling fan, vintage waterfall vanity, private deck - hot tub for 2-6 people, & private bath = oversize Jacuzzi recliner tub. Views to South, West and North, and the private deck sees in all directions. This room is for Father time & Mother Earth.
2. North Winter Twilight Room (upstairs), has a Queen bed & round castle canopy drape, in blues, white & gold. A bay window to the North with unique antiques. The costumes in this closet are blues, whites & gold.
3. South Summer Midday Room (upstairs)Queen bed, romantic burgundy & red hangings. Bay window to the South, gorgeous framed prints of Castle times and unique castle decor. Costumes in the closet are in reds, burgundy, black & gold.
4. Fall Sunset in the West Forest Room,Queen bed in Fall colors of greens, amber & gold, on main floor with two windows, (West & South). The costumes in this room are all the Fall forest colors, with browns, greens, gold etc.
5. Aurora Flower Fairy Springtime Dawn in the East Room, main floor bedroom, Full bed, in pastel
fairy colors. East & south windows. Antique castle vanity & diminutive rocker in flower tapestry. Costumes for girls/women in pastels, with fairy wings etc. :) The porta crib, toddler bed, super saucer and many toys are in this closet.
6. Wizards Hidden room, Queen bed, table, lamp, & second secret exit.
7. Dragon has dibs on the top bunk, in the "Knights Wrest" ;) air mattresses on bunks and cot
Bathrooms= 4 --- One family bathroom on the main level, & another on the upper level, both have sinks divided from toilet/tub area for multiple use, plus another “throne” room on lowest entertainment level, & the Master Suite has its own private bathroom-towels & linens provided!
Large well-equipped Great Room Kitchen (open to dining & family room) --- centrally located radiant stove with smooth top burners in the island with chopping block. Microwave, & toaster, blender. Large fridge with lower freezer & separate full upright freezer off dining room. Plastic (for kids) & ceramic dishes, plastic/glass cups, mugs. tableware, table clothes, cloth napkins, full kitchen utensils & knives set, (new gas BBQ on kitchen balcony deck). The hutch in the dining room has two sets of glass goblets, blue & gold, plus blue & white stoneware dishes. Platters etc too, with cookie sheets & pizza pan. ETC!!!
Convenient Dining room --- seats 8 on main chairs or 10 using bay window seating (plus five more at breakfast bar) plus more on folding tables & chairs?? – Even MORE down on entertainment level!!!
Family room--- freestanding wood stove (wood provided) on custom massive real river stone surround, plus an in the wall electric heater if you don't want to tend a fire.
Entertainment Center built in (with doors), video/DVD player with large libraries (castle times themes+).
The furniture here is a full size couch with matching love seat & swivel rocker, a large recliner, a desk, & a coffee table. The rustic breakfast bar is in this room- & faces into the kitchen, with built in stools cut with a huge chain saw.

Wonderful Library---with bay window and seat, large antique desk, free high speed wireless internet, well stocked library (classics/contemporary- much medieval themed) Adult, youth and youngsters' books, Full Twilight Book Series, MANY OLD fairy tales and new ones too! Fablehaven, lots!
The GREAT HALL is a massive room (17’x 35’) on the Entertainment level, with 12’ high rough cedar lined walls & custom real river stone fireplace clear to the ceiling. The seating is two velvet couches, and two recliners, plus two upholstered chairs, & with the draperies open at parties people sit on the large window (there are three) ledges & the raised fireplace hearth. There is a massive antique European oak cabinet- (+ more folding tables and chairs in closet here).

A. Romantic Swan Princess Tower- with single bed, antique spinning wheel, 2 views!
B. Unicorn Peak Attic- with sleeping set up for 7 singles or children (6' ceiling center peak is "A" shape) with windows to North, East, South and skylight/laundry chute. Intercom to here for communication. One wing is in pink for a girl, the other two wings are 2 beds in blues to the North, and 2 set up for sleeping to the South with the Unicorn forest colors from the tapestry.
C.Dragons' Dungeon Game room - tables and chairs, many board games, puzzles, air mattresses
D. Dancing patio-- fire pit, mega seating, large dancing area under the stars, hammock, ancient orchard in & outside fence
--- forest views out EVERY window (can’t see ANY neighbors!)Wild natural forest, with wildlife, real creek waterfall, wild ponds, WILD—only one trail! Many deer (they even jump into fenced back yard!) & you may see wild elk, raccoons, ground beaver, squirrels, chipmunks, owls, skunks (rarely bobcat, coyote, bear or hear a cougar!) We back onto the State Forest too. If you go exploring/hiking etc- and get lost - go downhill to the North to find civilization again!

b. Dancing patio- is a small man made waterfall, picnic table & benches + extra seating on retaining wall. Yard games, badminton, volleyball, etc (provided).

- Amenities
- Washer: Brand NEW-- High Efficiency Maytag washer, in castle private laundry room, with chutes to floors above, and awesome sorting basket systems. We have some of the HE special soap.
- Dryer: Also Brand NEW High Efficiency Maytag washer- with the steam refresh features! This is so great to use, a time and wear saver for the freshest clothes in minuets!
- Linens Provided: Yes--of course all that-- AND we supply several choices of table cloths & cloth napkins plus a system for each person to hang their towel in their closet- they KNOW it is private!
- Garage: Yes, two car garage, with large upright freezer on the way to the kitchen, so frozen things can be easily put away.
- Covered Parking: Yep, this too, for a third car-- and it has a covered ramp up to the family room, for wheel chairs of those not wanting ANY stairs. :)
- Off Street Parking: Oh YEA! So much we have never counted how many cars could be parked- did you notice the picture of the house from the back with the sweeping drive way and grass on each side? Plus more in the front (South) of the house too.
- Parking for RV/Boat/Trailer: Some- best in the summer, pretty muddy in the fall.
- Wood Fireplace: This would be the HUGE one in the Great Hall, with glass doors and a huge space. It is a custom one, and has a blower feature too, plus the real river stone heats and stays warm.
- Wood Stove: The freestanding wood stove is in the family room, (also glass door) and it is surrounded by a real river stone foundation and sides etc. Kid safety guard put up by Grandpa.
- Beds
- King Bed: In the Master Suite of course :)-- and it is quite firm so even a King Sized partner will not cause a lighter weight spouse to roll down hill. :) Lots of extra pillows etc!
- Queen Bed: Five Queens -- 2 in upstairs bedrooms and one on the main floor, the last is in the hidden room.
- Double Bed: One on the main floor-- in the smaller of all the large bedrooms. This is decorated for femininity.
- Twin/Single Bed (8) : One in the romantic Tower, and the rest in the Peak (attic- 6' height A shape) which sleeps 5 plus!
- Bunk Bed: This is REALLY rustic-- in the dungeon (brave hearts?) this works with air mattresses, but one may prefer to put the air mattresses on the rug as for TV, & use sleeping bags?
- Child Bed: This is a toddler bed which uses a 6 year crib mattress, it is closer to the floor too, and has a side rail-- it is stored in the huge closet area of the East bedroom, main fl.
- Convertible Bed (3) : ? There are 3 full sized sofas and a love seat that kids love to choose to sleep on with blankets and a pillow to be close to "the action"
- Crib: There is a porta- bed for infants- (brand new) that is the kind with mesh sides and can be moved from room to room. etc.
- Entertainment
- Cable/Satellite TV: Inside antenna only-- sorry- but we do get several stations.
- TV (No Cable/Satellite) (2) : OK-- we did fudge a bit here-- as we have collected a LOT of castle time movies-- some real vintage classics some VHS, and a lot of the newest DVDs like Stardust, & Enchanted etc too.

- Video Library: We have collected about 150 or more movies, mostly video, some DVD, suitable for family watching-- with a FEW PG-13 (which are kept in the Master Suite- where all the DVD are.

- Music Library: We have book and sheet music to go with the piano and electric keyboard and practice guitar plus other instruments we provide. We also have a VERY few cassettes.
- Jetted Tub in Bath: Yes, in the Master Suite of course-- in reunions-- draw straws for who gets to use it on which night?
- Private Hot Tub: This is a 6 person one, out on the private Master Suite deck, to keep it as safe as possible from the younger generation. You can lock the door to it too.
- Private Pool: Well, there are natural decades old ponds that *could* be used to swim-- but I wouldn't do it! Salamanders, and natural pond bottom of old leaves-- remember forest with wildlife?
- Ping Pong/Table Tennis
- Kitchen
- Full Kitchen: Since this was our home for 20+ years and then we stripped it to try to sell it (to save it from foreclosure) we have now put all new pots and pans and many other supplies back in. :)
- Cooking Utensils Provided: Yes-- we got some great new ones from Costco. :)
- Refrigerator: Large family one with freezer on the bottom. Plus a large size upright freezer in the coat/craft room to the garage.
- Dishwasher: Yes, and it works great too. What a blessing! Or *really* have a vacation and use paper plates if you dare!
- Microwave: One smallish one in the kitchen
- Catering Available: There are quite a few places in town.
- Outdoor Features
- Gas/Electric BBQ Grill: New- medium sized BBQ right out the kitchen back door, on the balcony porch-- so convenient to eat inside or on picnic tables etc.
- Deck/Patio: Master Suite deck, has a table, plus the kitchen deck can be used (but we moved the benches so kids couldn't use them to go over the railing!) and the huge cement patio below.
- Balcony: Yes, this is off the Kitchen as I said.
- Lanai: ? I think the covered area of the large dancing patio on the entertainment level is this? The fire pit is here and the faux water fall is on a different level so you get the sounds. :)
- View/Location
- Ocean View: I believe that most every window to the North shows the ocean and you can on a clear day see Victoria, Canada too!
- Water View: Yes-- I explained above plus there is a neighbors pond below- that ONCE in 20 years we saw other people at. I think we enjoy the view more than they get any use of it. :)
- Mountain View: Beautiful Bell Hill is to the North of us, and sometimes on clear days you can see other mountains. We are on a side of a mountain-- where the trees continue to grow- so secluded. :)
- Communications
- Broadband Internet: Yes, and it is a line of site VERY fast one. Works with IPhones too. :)
- WiFi (Wireless Internet): Yep, Yep, Yep- (maybe I should be sounding Medieval?-- so I should say "At thy command Sire/Mylady?" ;)
- Other Amenities
- 20 Natural Forested Acres (ancient trees of many varieties), wildlife abounds, backed by state forest, ponds, private spring water throughout house, ocean view to Victoria etc. COSTUMES for castle times in every closet! For pictures.
- Suitability
- Pet Friendly: *ONLY MAYBE*- & only 1 dog- who must be kept in *only one* special room- so if evidence is found of them in any other room- the whole damage and cleaning deposit is forfeited!
- Handicapped Accessible (may have limitations): YES!!!, ramp on covered car port to East, and main floor has all needs-- though over sized wheel chairs will not work through the doors. :( Sorry.
- Wheelchair Accessible (may have limitations): Smaller wheelchairs will fit, but bathroom is smallish, : /
- Kid Friendly: MEGA safety features built in (I'm was a worst case scenario Mom-- and continue so in my grand mothering.:) Slats in hurricane fence prevent children climbing out, rails designed also to prevent that- and MUCH more. :)
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters: We require (after hearing horror stories :(- ) that our renters be over 25, or with an adult responsible family member or chaperon. We hope to avoid "spring breakage" ;)
- Smoking Not Allowed: Sorry-- for those who haven't yet been able to kick the habit-- maybe now is a good time to try?-- how about a patch? It's even against our religion! Thanks for not smoking here!

Why the Owner Chose Sequim
We didn't buy this for a vacation rental we BUILT it 20+ years ago to live there! In Sequim, we believe the best of all things are found, ocean beaches, mountains, winter sports, forests and wildlife, shopping and close enough to Seattle for events there, while still enjoying the small town lifestyle. There is local live theater, lots of franchised restaurants, along with local ones for great dinning. There is so much to do in the castle and on the 20 acres that you may not even want to leave. We even made our own snow board run one year! Still there are so many other things to do and see, so close by that you will probably end up wishing to come again to experience it all. Maybe a day trip to Victoria, Canada on the ferry (passport needed!) or snow sports at Hurricane Ridge, or charter a boat for all the water and boating adventures ETC !
The Unique Benefits at this Large Family Home
Secluded, peaceful, nature, room enough for ALL of our large family to sleep under one roof. Our Castle was the setting for two wedding receptions, banquets for 70, and even a Formal Ball for all the young single adults in our church from the whole Peninsula - clear to Forks! We love nature and with so much to do on the property and in the castle it is great to invite the people we WANT to be with, while it is wonderful to be secluded from seeing ANY neighbors when we want our privacy. I think this would be a GREAT place for some movie star (and family-- Marie Osmond??) to get away to-- or the Cullen Family of Twilight Fame!

Other than the first line, I wrote this poem, which is now in professional calligraphy and framed in the entry way of our dream home family castle. We raised our five children here, and then went on to welcome 20 foster kids over the next 10 years. The seclusion was perfect for keeping us all safe. Now our children all are happily married with families of their own and we still love to gather at the castle in the woods for celebrations or retreats. We hope that your dreams will come true as we share our castle home with you.
